Chapter 26: Visit
The next day, Su Qingyan was woken up by Zhou Cheng again.
"What time is it? The alarm hasn't rung yet." Su Qingyan's voice was hoarse, and he closed his eyes and reached for his phone.
"I have to go to the ward rounds early today. If you are sleepy, you can sleep a little longer. I'm leaving first." Zhou Cheng felt like a kitten tickling his heart when he heard his voice.
"Don't go! I'm getting up." Su Qingyan sat up before opening his eyes and stumbled towards the bathroom barefoot.
Zhou Cheng saw that he was trying to hold on to the wall for a long time but couldn't find it, and was about to fall, so he went to help him. Unexpectedly, Su Qingyan threw herself into his arms and buried her face in his chest.
“Smells so good…”
"Okay, go wash up, I'll meet you in the parking lot."
After arriving at the ward, Zhou Cheng hurriedly changed into his white coat and went to make rounds. Su Qingyan had just taken a nap in the car, and now he was sitting on a chair with the thermos cup Zhou Cheng gave him, continuing to doze off. He only became a little more awake when other doctors started to come to work at 7:30.
Yang Luning saw Su Qingyan in the duty room, still wearing the same clothes as yesterday, and he wondered in his heart whether he had gone out to get a room or taken her home. In either case, it was a bit too fast.
"Have you taken the medicine?" Zhou Cheng asked Su Qingyan as he opened the door with a stethoscope hanging around his neck.
"Eat it right away."
After Su Qingyan finished speaking, Zhou Cheng closed the door and left.
"Doctor Yang, you have to do your own ward rounds every day. Can't someone else do it for you?"
"Well, it's not impossible, but Zhou Cheng, you know, is quite serious." Yang Luning didn't know if the answer was appropriate.
Zhou Cheng returned to the office and began to adjust the medical orders. It was 10 minutes before 8 o'clock when he finished everything.
"Teacher Zhou, are you going to see the outpatient clinic today?" Zhou Cheng's students had already followed with books and notebooks in their arms.
Zhou Cheng nodded, then went to the duty room to call Su Qingyan. The students looked at Su Qingyan with some curiosity. He didn't look like an intern in his attire.
"Don't talk nonsense when the time comes. If you feel bored, come back. You can't doze off in the clinic."
The students standing behind them opened their eyes wide in surprise as they listened to Zhou Cheng's whispered instructions.
What does this person do? Why does Teacher Zhou speak so gently?
All the patients and their families who entered the clinic were drawn to Su Qingyan, who sat in a formal suit and tie. Su Qingyan seemed to be enjoying it, cockily raising an eyebrow at Zhou Cheng. Zhou Cheng couldn't stand everyone's gaze glued to Su Qingyan, so he reluctantly asked his student to find a white coat.
The moment Su Qingyan put on the white coat, he felt as if his soul had been sublimated. He took out his mobile phone and took a selfie, which was rare. His circle of friends, which had not been updated for almost a year, finally came back to life.
-How about it
The accompanying picture is a selfie taken at a tricky angle.
If you have a pretty face, you can do whatever you want.
"Brother Chi, what are you laughing at?" Xiao Han got off the night shift today and had brunch at home with Feng Junchi.
"My boss just took off his hospital gown yesterday and put on a white coat today."
Xiao Han came over to look at his phone. He had heard from Feng Junchi that Su Qingyan was sick and hospitalized.
"Why is he wearing the white coat of the First Affiliated Hospital?"
"Because he's chasing Zhou Cheng." Feng Junchi saw Xiao Han's face change after he finished speaking. He thought it was really funny, so he continued to tease him, "I don't know what Zhou Cheng's background is. He has the young boss obsessed with him like this."
Xiao Han didn't respond and quietly finished his meal. He'd actually thought about explaining his relationship with Zhou Cheng to Feng Junchi a few times, but he'd always felt it was unnecessary. He was actually afraid Feng Junchi would take it personally. After all, it hadn't been easy for them to get to this point. Xiao Han also understood that Feng Junchi wouldn't do anything to him just because of his ex-boyfriend. Not saying anything would actually be a hidden danger. Finally, he sighed and began to clear the dishes.
Feng Junchi felt both distressed and amused when he saw his depressed mood.
"What's wrong?" Feng Junchi hugged Xiao Han from behind and lowered his head to kiss him on the ear.
"Stop making trouble, I'm washing dishes." Xiao Han nudged him with his elbow.
"Pre-marital anxiety." Feng Junchi's hand reached into the hem of Xiao Han's pajamas and rubbed his waist.
"Brother Chi, do you like me?"
Feng Junchi heard his choking voice and didn't expect him to react so strongly. He held his shoulders and turned him around. Xiao Han's tears were already falling down his cheeks.
"I'm really anxious." Feng Junchi held his face and wiped his tears. "Okay, baby, I don't like who you like."
When Xiao Han heard him say that, his tears fell uncontrollably. He didn't know what he was sad about.
Only when Feng Junchi picked him up sideways did Xiao Han come out of his depressed mood.
"Hey, what are you doing? Put me down."
"What are you talking about?" Feng Junchi carried him to the bedroom and put him on the bed. "You can't cry just because you're sad."
Su Qingyan sat in Zhou Cheng's office for three hours, feeling so blinded by his radiant majesty that he dared not open his eyes. Several times, he was driven mad by patients and wanted them to see a psychiatrist first. There were also a few who were rude, and Su Qingyan stood up and prepared to attack. The students, frightened by Zhou Cheng, quickly pulled them back to their chairs. Zhou Cheng remained calm, extracting the effective medical history he needed from the patients' chaotic descriptions.
"Your teacher Zhou, is this the usual working environment?" Su Qingyan felt drained and just wanted to get off work quickly.
"That's about right... The clinic has always been like this, with all kinds of outrageous people here." The student answered in a low voice.
At this time, Zhou Cheng called the next number.
"What's wrong?" Zhou Cheng glanced at the person who came in. He was a young man in his 20s.
"Doctor, my stomach hurts."
Zhou Cheng asked him to lie on the hospital bed. The students hurried over to help Zhou Cheng. Su Qingyan also looked at the bed curiously.
Zhou Cheng first listened with a stethoscope, then pressed on his stomach, and found that his expression did not change much.
"Tell me where it hurts and when it hurts." Zhou Cheng pressed the hand sanitizer a few times and rubbed his hands.
"My stomach hurts before I have a bowel movement." The patient also sat up from the bed and looked at Zhou Cheng.
"It's related to defecation." Zhou Cheng frowned. "This is the hepatobiliary surgery clinic. Please change to anorectal surgery or gastroenterology."
When the student received Zhou Cheng's look, he immediately understood and wanted to go with him to change numbers.
"Doctor, I know that all other appointments are full, so I made an appointment with you. Please do a finger examination for me. I'll be relieved if everything is fine." Seeing Zhou Cheng was about to return to his seat, the young man anxiously grabbed the sleeve of his white coat.
"This is not something that can be clarified by a finger examination." Zhou Cheng broke away from him calmly.
"My home is far away, and it's very inconvenient for me to come here this time. You can just check me. It's almost noon now. If I go to change my number, I can only see the doctor in the afternoon. By then, there will be no cars to go home. I'm poor and don't even have the money for a taxi. I'm a little scared because there's blood in my stool in recent days. I checked it online and it said it might be rectal cancer, which can be diagnosed by digital examination. If nothing is found, I won't continue the examination. Anyway, I don't have the money to treat it-" the young man chattered on and on.
"Okay, take off your pants and lie on the bed." Zhou Cheng softened his heart again.
Su Qingyan was once again shocked by Zhou Cheng's kind heart. He watched Zhou Cheng get gloves and glycerin, and kept winking at the students.
-You go and do it!
-I won't!
-If you don’t do it, you will never do it!
-Okay...I'll ask Teacher Zhou if it's okay.
"Teacher Zhou, I want to try it." The student mustered up the courage to say to Zhou Cheng.
"Okay, come on." Zhou Cheng felt relieved and agreed immediately.
"Hey! No! I want Dr. Zhou to do it, who are you?" The patient saw the student coming and pulled up his pants that had already been taken off.
Just as Zhou Cheng was about to explain, there were knocks on the clinic door.
"Doctor Zhou, is it convenient for you to come in?"
Zhou Cheng pulled the curtain of the examination bed and went to open the door. The nurse who was guiding him saw him opening the door, whispered a few words in his ear, and then left.
Is this normal social distancing?
Zhou Cheng turned around and saw Su Qingyan's pouting mouth. Just as he was about to laugh at her, he was immediately given a cold stare.
"The nurse has changed your number and contacted the doctor. The doctor in the anorectal department is more professional than all of us. Go ahead, the nurse is waiting for you outside the clinic." Zhou Cheng pulled open the curtain and said to the patient.
The patient had nothing to say. He stared at Zhou Cheng for a while and left in frustration.
"Teacher Zhou, what happened just now?"
"The nurse said he's a repeat offender and has been to many departments for digital examinations." Zhou Cheng said as he pumped several more pumps of hand sanitizer.
"Ah, what's so good about digital examination?" The student took the disinfectant handed to him by Zhou Cheng.
"Who knows." Zhou Cheng's tone clearly showed that he wanted to end the conversation.
"Homosexuality is so rampant nowadays." The student felt the air freeze after he said this.
"Zhou Cheng, what time do you get off work? I'm hungry." Su Qingyan couldn't bear to listen any longer. He didn't expect Zhou Cheng's emotional intelligence to be so touching.
Zhou Cheng looked at his watch and saw that there were still more than 10 minutes left, so he called the medical guide to cancel the appointment for the first time.
"What do you want to eat?" Zhou Cheng asked while packing up.
"Teacher, I can eat anything." The student answered hurriedly.
Su Qingyan curled her lips. This morning's outpatient experience was very unpleasant.
Zhou Cheng didn't hear Su Qingyan's reply for a long time. He turned around to look at him and found that he was taking off his white coat with a pout on his face, and he couldn't put it down for a while.
Su Qingyan handed the white coat to Zhou Cheng, said he had something to do and left without even looking back.
