Chapter 49: Play Trickster with Me

Chapter 49: Play Trickster with Me

At the dinner table, Su Qingyan continued to act like a good boy, lowering his head to eat and not saying much.

"How old is Xiao Su this year?" Mother Zhou picked up a shrimp for him.

"23, it will be my zodiac year after the New Year." Su Qingyan looked up and smiled harmlessly at Mother Zhou.

"Which university did you graduate from?" Mother Zhou really liked his smiling and well-behaved look.

"A Master's degree from the UK... not worth mentioning." Su Qingyan picked up the cup with some embarrassment.

"Oh, you got a master's degree in the UK, that's great." Mother Zhou picked up another piece of fish for him.

"You can't compare with Zhou Cheng. He graduated with a doctorate and will go to the United States to attend an international conference at the end of the month." Su Qingyan quickly took the opportunity to praise Zhou Cheng.

"How did you know Mingming when there's such a big age gap between you and him?" Mother Zhou's face lit up when she heard her son being praised.

Zhou Cheng's nickname is Mingming? So cute. Su Qingyan secretly glanced at Zhou Cheng and saw that he was eating seriously with his head down, so he continued with his previous confession.

"My colleague and Xiao Han are friends. My colleague's father had surgery a while ago, and he found Zhou Cheng through Xiao Han. That's how we met."

"Are you here to attend Xiaohan's wedding too?" Mother Zhou became interested again when she heard Xiaohan.

"Yeah, we always hang out with Xiao Han when we're free, and we have a pretty good relationship." Su Qingyan saw Zhou's father holding up his wine glass alone, and quickly raised his glass and clinked it with his.

"Has Xiao Su made any friends?" As soon as the topic of the wedding came up, Mother Zhou started to talk in this direction again.

"Mom, do you want to check the household registration?" Zhou Cheng finally spoke.

"I had a very pleasant chat with Auntie." Su Qingyan said quickly, then nudged Zhou Cheng with his knee under the table. His reaction was too obvious, so he had to be careful not to let it slip. "I just graduated not long ago, and work is more important."

"Xiao Su, you and Xiao Han have the same easygoing personality. You two will definitely be able to play together. It's obvious that he is just too stubborn."

When Zhou Cheng heard his mother compare Su Qingyan with Xiao Han, his heart sank. He glanced at Su Qingyan guiltily and found that his expression remained the same.

"Zhou Cheng is pretty good. We are all playful, but he is mature and steady." Su Qingyan continued to praise Zhou Cheng.

"Mom, let him eat something before we talk." Zhou Cheng spoke again.

After the meal, Su Qingyan finally understood who Zhou Cheng inherited his dull and stubborn personality from. Zhou Cheng was simply a replica of his father, and his father was even stricter than him. Except for a brief eye contact when clinking glasses with Zhou's father, Su Qingyan spent the rest of the time chatting with Zhou's mother.

After dinner, Zhou Cheng and Su Qingyan were in the kitchen clearing away the dishes. Su Qingyan quietly asked Zhou Cheng how he'd performed. Zhou Cheng said he'd already fully earned his mother's favorability, then placed the washed dishes in front of him, making him look busy. Su Qingyan smiled and bumped Zhou Cheng's shoulder. Zhou Cheng quickly turned around to see if he'd been seen, and warned Su Qingyan to behave himself and not let all his efforts go to waste.

Mother Zhou quickly came to the kitchen and asked Su Qingyan to go to the living room to eat fruit. She also said a few words to Zhou Cheng, asking why he let other people's children come to the house to work.

Zhou Cheng hummed and said nothing. Su Qingyan went to chat with Zhou's mother happily, but when she saw Zhou's father in the living room, her smile immediately faded by half.

"What does Xiao Su do for a living?" Father Zhou poured a cup of tea for Su Qingyan.

"A company in Mincheng isn't as stable as Zhou Cheng's job." Su Qingyan took the tea handed over by Zhou's father with both hands.

"Your home is in Mincheng?" Father Zhou took a sip of tea.

"My hometown is Xinghai. I came to Mincheng after graduation. Uncle and aunt, are you free to come to Xinghai to visit?" Su Qingyan took the grapes given to him by Zhou's mother.

"Xiao Su also works so far away from home?" When Zhou's mother heard him say that, she felt pity for him again.

"Yeah...it's okay, I'm used to it."

When Zhou Cheng came to the living room, he saw the rare laughter in the house and felt like an outsider.

"Be careful when you go to the United States." Zhou Cheng's father said to him after he sat down.

"I understand." Zhou Cheng held the teacup, his palms feeling warm.

Mother Zhou had already cleaned up the guest bedroom that had been turned into a storage room that afternoon and replaced the sheets and quilts with new ones. After Zhou Cheng brought Su Qingyan to the guest bedroom, Su Qingyan rolled her eyes at him.

"What? You don't want to act like a good boy anymore?" Zhou Cheng pinched Su Qingyan's chin and shook it.

"Why can't I live with you?" Su Qingyan sat on the bed dejectedly.

"How can you entertain guests like this?" Zhou Cheng also sat next to him.

"I'll come to see you in the evening." Su Qingyan suddenly threw Zhou Cheng onto the bed, put her hands on his chest, and leaned over to chase his lips.

"Stop it, I didn't lock the door." Zhou Cheng looked at the door guiltily, then grabbed Su Qingyan's wrist and pushed him away.

"That's too rough, Dr. Zhou." Su Qingyan said, rubbing his wrist.

Zhou Cheng straightened his clothes and headed out, not daring to stay in the room for even a second longer. All newly confirmed couples want to cling to each other forever; even a second apart is torture. Zhou Cheng was no exception, but having grown up in this high-pressure family atmosphere, he really didn't dare to overstep the line.

But Su Qingyan still found Zhou Cheng's bed in the middle of the night.

Zhou Cheng hadn't slept yet. There was a night light on in the bedroom. He leaned against the headboard, wearing blue-light blocking glasses and continued to optimize his speech on the laptop screen.

Zhou Cheng's heartbeat suddenly accelerated when the door was gently pushed open. Su Qingyan flashed in and then carefully locked the door.

Zhou Cheng closed his notebook and was about to take off his glasses and get out of bed when Su Qingyan suddenly whispered, "Don't move," and then walked over on tiptoe with slippers in hand.

"What's wrong?"

Zhou Cheng obediently did not move. He watched Su Qingyan put on his pajamas, walk to the bed, then lift his legs onto the bed and get into his quilt.

"You look so good in glasses. Let me see you again." Su Qingyan hugged Zhou Cheng tightly and whispered in his ear.

The side of Zhou Cheng's skin where he blew air trembled instantly. He hugged Su Qingyan back and whispered to him: "Xiao Su, my house is not soundproof."

"I know. I can even hear your father coughing. Mr. He takes a lozenge that seems to be quite effective. I'll ask him to mail some to me tomorrow so that uncle can try." Su Qingyan only dared to speak in a whisper while unbuttoning Zhou Cheng's pajamas.

"No, stop making trouble, or we'll hear you." Zhou Cheng grabbed Su Qingyan's impudent hand.

"I won't make a sound." Su Qingyan's hands were restrained, so she kissed Zhou Cheng's neck. When she kissed his Adam's apple, she licked the small mole.

Zhou Cheng exerted force with his hands, turned over and pressed Su Qingyan under him, "You are really brave."

"Brother, come and play some naughty things with me." Su Qingyan finally unbuttoned Zhou Cheng's pajamas and drew circles on his chest.
