Chapter 82 Chosen Oxen and Horses

Chapter 82 Chosen Oxen and Horses

Zhou Cheng couldn't understand what Su Qingyan meant by "a small greenhouse." He could only vaguely hear his mother and Aunt Liu talking at the door, but didn't see anyone. After they walked over, Su Qingyan warmly invited Cheng Muxi to visit the greenhouse in her house and even put her coat on her.

This house is some distance away from Su Qingyan's house, and the housekeeper has already parked the car at the door.

Su Qingyan came to Mincheng with his parents when he was in high school. Although he went abroad to continue his studies after graduation, his family still prepared a small villa for him in the same residential complex after he became an adult. Su Qingyan only really started living here after returning to China. However, because it was a villa area, it was a bit far from the city center, so he bought several properties in the city center, Jinghu being one of them.

Su Qingyan chatted with Cheng Muxi using his limited knowledge of flowers. Finally, he couldn't stand it anymore and called for help.

"Auntie, I only know a little bit. My mother is the expert. Can you talk to her?" Su Qingyan said as he took out his cell phone.

Zhou Cheng was startled by his action. What was Su Qingyan planning? Why did he suddenly introduce the parents of both parties to each other?

Cheng Muxi was very happy. She really liked these flowers. This was exactly the place she had always dreamed of.

After Su Qingyan typed a few lines of text with her mother, Mrs. Su called via video.

Zhou Cheng's heart beat faster and his eyes turned dark. Are they going to meet right away?

While the two mothers were having a heated conversation, Zhou Cheng pulled Su Qingyan aside.

"Let them video chat directly, aren't you afraid of being exposed?"

Su Qingyan looked at Zhou Cheng's nervous expression and laughed softly.

"It's okay. I told my mom about your family situation. She knows her limits."

At noon, they took Cheng Muxi to a newly built large shopping mall in the city center.

"Auntie, this restaurant is still under construction and is currently open for trial operation internally. Please don't be disgusted."

Su Qingyan nodded to the manager standing in the lobby, and they were taken to the entrance of a restaurant decorated like a primeval forest.

"My mother likes to be close to nature. These plants were airlifted from Xinghai. This decoration style is her idea, and it is quite difficult to realize. There is also a stream inside. We will have dinner in the pavilion by the stream later." Su Qingyan introduced as he walked.

Entering the restaurant, Zhou Cheng was once again struck by Mrs. Su's aesthetic taste. The various landscapes, both real and unreal, made him feel as if he were truly immersed in an outdoor paradise. Then he sighed inwardly, wondering what had gone wrong with Su Qingyan's current aesthetic taste, given that both her parents had such good taste.

They walked into a small pavilion, surrounded by clusters of flowers. Koi fish swam back and forth in the stream, occasionally leaping out of the water. The scenery was somewhat similar to that on the mountaintop in Xinghai. After they took their seats, the dishes were served one by one. The presentation was small and exquisite, reflecting the light taste of Xinghai.

Now Zhou Cheng would no longer be surprised. Even if Su Qingyan built a palace one day, he would be able to accept it calmly.

However, Zhou Cheng did not have a peaceful meal. The phone rang one after another. At first, he just replied with a few simple words. Later, he had to get up and go outside to answer the phone.

"Brother, what do you want to talk to me about?" Zhou Cheng stepped on the soft and moist grass and stroked the thick trunk of a big tree in front of him.

"Zhou Cheng, you are a big Buddha. If I don't show up, no one can invite you, right?" Gu Yi walked out of the laboratory, stood in the corridor, took off his mask and spoke to the phone.

Gu Yi is also one of Director Li’s favorite students. He is currently a researcher at the Mincheng Key Laboratory of Liver Disease Research and a doctoral supervisor.

"Stop joking, I really had something to do just now." Zhou Cheng vaguely knew why Gu Yi was looking for him.

"Boss Li told you, right? He asked you to go to the laboratory as soon as possible." Gu Yi looked at his watch and prepared to make a quick decision.

"It's just temporary. After this period, I have to go back to the clinic."

Zhou Cheng knew that working in the lab was a good job. No night shifts, no surgeries, relatively easy work, and no need to deal with complicated doctor-patient relationships. But he couldn't accept a life where he could predict the end of it.

"We're researching liver transplants, and I'm sure you'd be interested." Gu Yi paused for a few seconds, then took off his glasses and said with a smile, "What kind of drug did you give Boss Li? Why is he so nice to you?"

"Hasn't it spread throughout the hospital? How could you not know?"

Brother Zhou Cheng is not a scholar in the traditional sense. After work, he hangs out in various nightclubs. He had a short marriage and his daughter now lives with her mother.

"They say you're dating a rich man?" Gu Yi laughed. "Don't I know you? There are so many unbelievable things going on in the hospital. I even heard that the son of a nurse in the operating room has fallen in love with the head nurse in the orthopedics department. Just treat it as a joke."

"I'm really lucky. The rich man even gave the director a Da Vinci." Zhou Cheng interrupted Gu Yi's gossip.

"...Can you introduce me to some wealthy individuals? Our lab also needs donations..."

Gu Yi didn't believe the first half of Zhou Cheng's words, but after hearing the second half, he even wanted Zhou Cheng to give up this honorable seat.

"Does your wealthy family still need a lover? I'm open to men, and I don't mind a threesome."

"You'd better be honest. We are in a serious relationship." Zhou Cheng turned his head and looked at Su Qingyan not far away. He was chatting with his mother, and both of them were smiling brightly.

"Look at you, you take a joke seriously." Gu Yi shook his head.

"This kind of thing shouldn't be joked about." Zhou Cheng said seriously.

"I know, I know. Think carefully about the lab matter. I can only reluctantly accept a short-term position. Once you've figured it out, come and report."

Gu Yi's calculations were already going on in his mind. Zhou Cheng's down-to-earth character, coupled with the support of a generous tycoon, really made him a chosen one.
