Chapter 88 Recurrence of illness

Chapter 88 Recurrence of illness

The several buildings of the First Affiliated Hospital are always crowded with people.

Zhou Cheng held Su Qingyan's hot hand and came to the General Surgery Ward 2, not saying a word all the way.

"Doctor Zhou?"

Nurse Linlin was a little surprised when she saw Zhou Cheng, who should be on sick leave. Then she saw Su Qingyan following closely behind him, and her expression became even more puzzled.

"Routine blood test, biochemistry, and coagulation." Zhou Cheng gave Linlin simple instructions, then took Su Qingyan to the doctor's duty room.

Linlin immediately understood that Mr. Su was sick again, and then she moved swiftly to push the disposal truck.

When Linlin pushed the cart and knocked on the door to enter the duty room, Zhou Cheng did not bother her any further. He took the tourniquet and personally drew blood from Su Qingyan.

Seeing Zhou Cheng holding the lancet, Su Qingyan shrank back in fear, then turned his head to the side and squeezed his eyes shut. Although the needle didn't hurt when it pierced his skin, his fear of sharp objects with unknown consequences still made him feel strongly resistant.

"Doctor Zhou, what else do you need me to do?" Linlin asked after taking the blood sample handed over by Zhou Cheng.

"No, thank you for your help." Zhou Cheng nodded to Linlin gratefully.

After Linlin closed the door, Zhou Cheng walked back to the bed and looked down at Su Qingyan.

"Don't look at me like that, it's scary..." Su Qingyan pressed the needle hole himself and muttered, still tilting his head.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Zhou Cheng sat down on the edge of the bed, took Su Qingyan's hand away to let him rest, and continued to press him.

"I thought I was busy recently. Today I felt something was wrong, so I took my temperature and found out I had a fever..." Su Qingyan felt that he was really wronged. It was obvious that he just found out about it too.

"Can you..." Zhou Cheng wanted to tell him not to work so hard, but he felt that he was not qualified to say this to him, so he turned around and went to the cabinet to look for antipyretics.

"Zhou Cheng, don't be angry. I didn't mean to hide it from you. I originally wanted to call you to tell you, but who knew you would come here directly. Do you think we are in sync?" Su Qingyan saw him coming back with the medicine, and took the medicine obediently and swallowed it.

"I'm not angry. It's not good to keep doing this for so long. Caring too much will only make you confused."

Zhou Cheng rubbed his hair, wondering what went wrong and why they both got sick one after another.

The test results came out very quickly. It was indeed Murphy's Law: the more you worry about something, the more likely it is to happen.

"The result is not good?" Su Qingyan asked nervously when he saw Zhou Cheng's furrowed brows.

"I'm going out to make a phone call."

Zhou Cheng handed the test report to Su Qingyan and left.

Su Qingyan felt disappointed when he saw the upward arrows.

Zhou Cheng went to the director's office to consult Director Li Yu. After careful analysis, the two decided that a biopsy was still necessary. Zhou Cheng also gave him a brief report on the case that Gu Yi had mentioned to him that morning. Director Li had heard of it before, but had never connected it to Su Qingyan's condition.

"Director, do you think it's possible that they are using the same type of drugs?" Although Zhou Cheng knew that saying this would involve a lot of trouble, he really didn't want to miss any clues.

"Zhou Cheng, there are some things we cannot discuss." Director Li didn't want Zhou Cheng to get involved in the mess.

"I understand." Zhou Cheng thanked the director and left.

He knew that Director Li was doing this for his own good. If this matter was really investigated thoroughly, many people's jobs would be in jeopardy. He could only change his thinking and make comparisons.

Zhou Cheng returned to the duty room and saw Su Qingyan lying obediently on the bed.

"Drink some water." Zhou Cheng took a glass of warm water and handed it to Su Qingyan.

"What's my physical condition? I get sick once a month." Su Qingyan took the cup and drank all the water.

"Xiao Su, you need to have a puncture." Zhou Cheng took the empty cup and said while holding Su Qingyan's hand.

"What is that?" Su Qingyan asked vigilantly after hearing the word piercing.

"It's just a quick procedure where you use a needle to get through the skin into the liver and take a small piece of tissue."

"I don't want to..." Su Qingyan immediately refused after hearing the description.

"Your illness has not been cured. We have to find the cause quickly. Be obedient." Zhou Cheng hugged Su Qingyan and stroked his back gently.

"Or I'll go directly to Wan Lin and ask him what he is using." Su Qingyan also felt that this could not be delayed any longer.

"Your father has already asked Jiang Yue, and they have always said they don't know. They even claim they are victims."

"He can deceive Jiang Er, but he wants to deceive me? Can he believe my dad?"

"Believe it or not...they're so adamant, what can we do?" Zhou Cheng patted Su Qingyan again, "Should we stay in the hospital here or go to that private hospital?"

"Do I have to be hospitalized?" Su Qingyan sighed, then laughed again, "That's good, I can rest now."

The news that Su Qingyan was hospitalized again reached Su Chonglin's ears immediately. Because the situation in Xinghai had just stabilized, he could only sit back and do nothing. However, he really couldn't swallow this humiliation, so after thinking it over, he dialed the number.

Mrs. Su returned to Mincheng as soon as possible and arrived at the hospital around midnight.

Only a night light was on in the bedroom of the suite. Su Qingyan had already fallen asleep. Zhou Cheng was leaning against the head of the bed, typing on the computer screen. When he saw the door of the ward was opened, he thought it was a nurse coming to make rounds. When he found out it was Mrs. Su, he quickly stood up, took off his glasses, and put the computer aside.

Mrs. Su made a gesture to keep quiet, and her high heels made no sound as they stepped on the thick carpet.

"How is Xiaoyan?" Mrs. Su asked Zhou Cheng in a low voice.

"Auntie, let's talk outside. He just fell asleep." Zhou Cheng saw Su Qingyan frowning and turning over, afraid of waking him up.

The two of them came to the small living room outside, but Mrs. Su had not sat down yet and looked anxious.

"This time his liver function is just elevated again. There's no problem with his coagulation mechanism, and his blood routine is fine. It's just that the cause of the disease is unclear. Director Xu meant to do a liver puncture biopsy. I just contacted a foreign expert, and he has the same opinion, but..." Zhou Cheng paused.

It's just that the patient himself is very resistant.

"Xiaoyan has been like this since he was a child..." Mrs. Su sighed.

"Please persuade him again. You can't keep dragging it on like this."

"I'll talk to him tomorrow. You should also take care of yourself. I'll stay here tonight." Although Mrs. Su was very confident that Zhou Cheng would take care of Su Qingyan, they both felt distressed when they thought that he was also injured.

"I'll just stay by your bedside, it's okay." Zhou Cheng quickly refused.

He could foresee that if Su Qingyan woke up tomorrow and found that he was not there, she would be angry again.

After asking a few more simple questions, Mrs. Su returned to the bedside, looked at Su Qingyan's sleeping profile for a while, and then left.
