Chapter 69 I'll take you to enjoy life
Mother Zhou sat on the sofa and secretly wiped away her tears, watching Zhou Cheng slowly clean up the messy living room, and then told her that he was going out for a while. She thought Zhou Cheng finally came to his senses and went to apologize to Xiaowen, so she nodded in agreement.
Zhou Cheng threw on a coat and headed straight for the airport, empty-handed, carrying only his ID and phone. He knew he couldn't stay home any longer. His patience had reached its limit and was about to explode. The already precarious family relationship could no longer withstand any more of his anger.
At the same time, five or six black Rolls-Royces passed by on the Mincheng Ring Expressway. Their license plates all had consecutive numbers of Min A, and the cars next to them stayed away for fear of being scratched.
Wan Lin was driving with an unlit cigarette in his mouth. He glanced at the back seat in the rearview mirror and saw Jiang Yuexing resting with his eyes closed and a string of Buddhist beads in his hand.
"What do you want to say?" Jiang Yuexing spoke immediately.
"Brother, someone from the Zheng family came to me a few days ago and said that Miss Jiang Zhi beat their young master badly." Wan Lin put the cigarette between his ears and looked at Jiang Yuexing's expression in the rearview mirror.
"Yeah." Jiang Yuexing still closed his eyes.
"Miss Jiang Zhi said she punched him once, and it was because the boy spoke rudely."
"You drove the driver away just to tell me this?" Jiang Yuexing opened his eyes and looked at Wan Lin.
“Not really…”
"Don't worry about children's affairs, let them solve them themselves." Jiang Yuexing ended the conversation.
After driving for over an hour, the convoy stopped at the mountain gate. Wan Lin and his bodyguards escorted the three Jiang children to the courtyard behind the temple. Jiang Yuexing followed the abbot into the main hall and offered the first incense stick of the Lunar New Year to the golden statue of the Buddha.
"Mom, I miss you." Jiang Yi is the youngest child in the Jiang family. When he saw his mother, he threw himself into her arms.
"If you miss me, come here to find me." Chen Huike touched Jiang Yi's head, but his expression was still indifferent.
"There are too many rules here..." Jiang Yi's eyes turned red as he spoke.
Jiang Yong looked at Jiang Yi who was lying in his mother's arms and snorted in his heart. He had never liked his younger brother Jiang Yi. Jiang Yi was weak and incompetent, and he only knew how to act coquettishly and cutely. He didn't look like a boy at all. He also didn't like his sister Jiang Zhi who didn't look like a girl at all. He felt that he should be the most favored child, but his father was indifferent to everyone.
The three children each had their own nanny, so Chen Huike didn't usually have much to look after them. A few years ago, at the guidance of a master, she entered the Buddhist monastery, secluded herself in seclusion, meditating and seeking enlightenment. To facilitate her practice, Jiang Yuexing built this temple on the outskirts of the city. Two years ago, after the temple was completed, Chen Huike moved in. She saw her children less and less, and their relationship grew weaker. Jiang Yi, then just five years old, first came to the temple and burst into tears at the sight of her mother. Only after Jiang Yuexing slapped her did she quiet down. From then on, she was filled with fear of this desolate, smoke-filled place. Jiang Yuexing would occasionally come here to sit and meditate.
The family gathered together and had a simple vegetarian meal in the courtyard. After the meal, Jiang Yuexing left the table. Only after he left did the children dare to talk to their mother.
Wan Lin followed Jiang Yuexing into the Guanyin Hall. In front of them was a huge Guanyin statue carved from a whole piece of jadeite. The statue was more than three meters tall, and the emerald areas were exactly where Guanyin's lotus throne and the willow branch in her hand were.
Jiang Yuexing clasped his hands together and after the ceremony, he glanced at Wan Lin. Wan Lin immediately understood and knelt in front of the Guanyin statue.
"Calm down." Jiang Yuexing said and turned away.
Wan Lin won this rough stone in a gambling trip to Myanmar in his early years. He immediately presented it to Jiang Yuexing. What he didn't expect was that Jiang Yuexing actually used this priceless treasure to carve a statue of Guanyin, and asked him to kneel here and meditate every once in a while. Wan Lin regarded it as a way to atone for his sins and purify his soul.
Xinghai.
Zhou Cheng turned on his phone after the plane landed, and sure enough, there were a bunch of missed calls, all from his mother and Su Qingyan. He was about to call Su Qingyan back when his video request came in.
"What are you trying to do by disappearing? I'm so anxious." Su Qingyan finally felt relieved after seeing Zhou Cheng.
"I just turned off my phone on the plane." Zhou Cheng looked at Su Qingyan and felt a little better.
"Where are you going? Why didn't you tell me in advance?" Su Qingyan thought he was traveling with his family.
Zhou Cheng held up his phone and turned around.
"Take a look?"
"Huh? What! You came to Xinghai?!" Su Qingyan hurriedly ran down from the room with the cell phone in his hand, and told Zhou Cheng to stand still and not move, and he would be there soon.
Zhou Cheng stood obediently in the lobby without moving. Within 5 minutes, a staff member quickly came over and led him to the lounge. He had just sat there for a while when he was taken back to the car.
Xinghai Airport is not close to the city center. The car drove for more than 20 minutes and stopped by the roadside. Zhou Cheng was wondering when he saw a red sports car whizzing over, turning around and swaying its tail, and then stopped next to him in one go.
Su Qingyan opened the car door and ran out, still wearing cotton home clothes.
Zhou Cheng also got out of the car and opened his arms to catch the small cannonball flying over.
"You're lying. Didn't you say you were going to stay at home for a week?" Su Qingyan tried hard to control her strength, hugged him lightly and then let go, then took Zhou Cheng's hand and returned to the car.
"Something unpleasant happened... so I left early."
"You're so silly. Why didn't you lie to me and say you wanted to give me a surprise?" Su Qingyan saw that Zhou Cheng was in a bad mood, so she teased him.
"I won't lie to you."
Hearing Zhou Cheng say this, Su Qingyan reached out to pull his hand again, then squeezed it a little harder.
"Cheer up, Xinghai is my territory, you can do whatever you want."
Zhou Cheng's phone rang again. It was his mother again.
"Mom, my phone ran out of battery just now... Something happened at the hospital, so I went back first... No, it's not... Okay..."
"Did you have a fight with your family?" Su Qingyan hung up the phone after seeing Zhou Cheng's serious expression.
"Um."
"Don't think about it, I'll take you to enjoy life." Su Qingyan stepped on the accelerator hard, and the car made a roar that attracted people's attention.
