This spy had once fought with Wanyan Zonghan at Taiyuan and knew Yue Fei's formidable strength. He was nearly executed for his cowardice, but was spared due to the defeat of the Jin army and later became a frontline spy in the army.
He had already been frightened out of his wits when he saw Yue's army swarming like ants in Bailu Bay. He knew that Dading could not be defended no matter what, let alone Zhongjing.
Yelu Butu asked him to go to Zhongjing for help, but on the way he turned his horse around and fled westward, becoming a deserter.
The vanguard of Yue Family Army, led by Liang Zifan, has arrived at the city of Dading. Yelu Butu is eagerly waiting for Zhongjing to come to the rescue, but Zhongjing is unaware of it.
Liang Zifan pointed at the city wall and said, "You, the Jin thief, are you willing to come out of the city and fight me?"
Yelu Butu did not answer. Instead, he stood on the city wall and watched, asking the soldiers nearby, "Have the reinforcements from Zhongjing arrived?"
The soldier shook his head and said, "I'm standing on the north tower, watching, but I haven't seen any sign of reinforcements."
Yelu Butu was furious: "They are taking advantage of my misfortune and trying to kill me!"
Liang Zifan was still shouting from the foot of the city: "Which general is guarding the city? Will you fight with me?"
Yelu Butu couldn't help but raise his giant hammer and pointed at Liang Zifan from the city wall, saying, "I am Yelu Butu, the garrison commander of Dading. Who are you?"
Liang Zifan saw the man was broad-shouldered and thick-set, the hammer in his hand weighing at least several dozen pounds. He was secretly delighted, finally meeting a match. He immediately clasped his fists and said, "I am Liang Zifan, the vanguard of General Yue's front line!"
Yelu Butu struck his two hammers together, making a clanging sound. "I've heard of the bravery of Yue's army for a long time. I want to see it for myself!"
Liang Zifan pointed his gun and said, "Yelü Butu? I thought you were from the Liao Dynasty, so how come you are a lackey of the Jin thieves?"
Yelu Butu hated being called a running dog the most, and he flew into a rage: "Open the city gates!"
With the sound of horse hooves, Yelu Butu rushed out with two hammers raised.
"Okay!" Liang Zifan was overjoyed. He rode his horse, picked up his gun, and rushed forward with a gun flower.
