Chapter 202: The Brave Wins When They Meet on a Narrow Road

Asu was shocked to hear the news that Fang County was conquered. He eliminated the threat of Heiya Mountain, but he never thought that his own lair would be destroyed.

"This bunch of brutal bandits are seeking death! Return to Fang County immediately and stop these bandits!" Asu passed on the order with a clever move.

He knew that this mob could not occupy Fang County, and as long as he changed his troops, he could wipe out the remnants of this brutal banditry in Fang County.

Asu's clever tactics were well-tested in the battlefield and were not entirely without wisdom. While he was descending the mountain to defend Fang County, he sent people to Na County to ask for help.

Upon hearing that Fang County was conquered, Wang Ce of Na County hurriedly led more than 600 cavalrymen to support Asu's strategy. The two sides wanted to join forces to wipe out the invading enemies from Fang County.

As the saying goes, all is fair in war, and these were veterans of the battlefield. Zong Ze, however, was even more skilled. He had long worried that Asu's clever strategy would lead him to seek aid from Na County, so he brought another army from Yuzhou to aid Luofengpo.

What was originally a small Luofengpo has now become a strategic location that determines the stability of the surrounding areas of Yunzhou. In the long run, it even concerns the safety of the entire Sixteen States.

Qin Wenzhi led 500 cavalrymen to Luofengpo. This was not the Luofengpo where Pang Tong was killed in the Three Kingdoms period, but the only way for Asu Miaozhao to return to Fang County.

There are pine forests on both sides of Luofengpo, and a road in the middle leads to Fang County.

Legend has it that this was originally a bare earthen slope. A phoenix, tired, wanted to rest here, but found no place to stand. So the phoenix flapped its wings and split the earthen slope in two, and its fallen feathers became this pine forest.

Qin Wenzhi ordered the cavalry to ambush on the other side of the woods. They had to stay away from the road to prevent the neighing of the war horses from alarming the enemy. He took Wang Shan and dozens of other archers to ambush in the bushes on the hillside.

After waiting for a long time without any movement, Wang Shan became anxious: "Why hasn't the commander-in-chief sent troops from Weizhou yet?"

Qin Wenzhi peeked out from the bushes and said, "Wait a little longer. Weizhou is a long way from here. Zongshuai's troops should be arriving soon. I'm worried about Wang Ce in Na County."

Suddenly, there was the sound of horse hooves. Asu Miaozhao led the Jin soldiers galloping from the south to the north, rushing to Fang County to provide support. Qin Wenzhi was shocked. The enemy was so fast.

"Prepare for battle!" Qin Wenzhi waved his hand, and dozens of archers drew their bows and arrows, waiting for the order to attack.

Suddenly, dust rose in the distance behind Asu Miaozhao, and another group of people came rushing over from behind.

Qin Wenzhi was shocked again, and he couldn't help but gasp when he saw it. Behind Asu Miaozhao was another group of Jin soldiers, almost as many in number as Asu Miaozhao. It was Wang Ce, a Liao general who surrendered from Na County, who was leading his men to support Fang County.

Qin Wenzhi had only about 500 cavalrymen, while Asu Miaozhao and Wang Ce's Jin troops numbered nearly 1,000. If they were not careful in their ambush, they would be annihilated.

"General, what should we do? The enemy has too many people. If we attack by force, we are afraid that we will be bitten to death by them..." The deputy general next to him dissuaded.

Wang Shan was very anxious: "If they rush over, the two thousand brothers in Fang County will be finished!"

Qin Wenzhi pondered for a moment, then gritted his teeth and said, "We can't let Chief Wang's brothers get surrounded. Fight! As long as we hold on, Zongshuai's reinforcements from Weizhou should be arriving soon."

Qin Wenzhi aimed his bow and arrow at a captain of the Jin army who was rushing in front.

"Swoosh!" An arrow shot out, and the Jin soldier captain fell off his horse without a sound.

Asu Miaozhao and the others were startled and hurriedly reined in their horses. Suddenly, dozens of Song army archers emerged from the bushes on both sides of the road.

"Swish, swish!..."

Arrows rained down and many Jin soldiers were shot and fell off their horses.

With the sound of rumbling hooves, Qin Wenzhi's cavalry turned from the other side of the valley.

"Kill!" After the arrows were shot, Wang Shan rushed out first with his sword raised. Qin Wenzhi and others threw away their bows and arrows, drew their swords and rushed forward with their men.

Asu Miaozhao and Wang Ce behind him were stunned at first, and both of them were horrified.

Suddenly, hundreds of Song cavalry appeared here, and dozens of Jin soldiers in front of Asu were killed instantly.

The rest of the Jin soldiers were horrified and turned to flee. Asu Miaozhao raised his sword and roared, "Anyone who escapes will be killed without mercy!"

But it was too late. The Jin soldiers were frightened by Qin Wenzhi's ambush and began to retreat.

Ah Su made a clever move, charging forward on horseback and slashing the two deserters to death with his sword: "Anyone who dares to retreat will be killed without mercy!"

Finally, the remaining Jin soldiers dared not flee anymore, and Wang Ce's Jin soldiers were almost catching up.

After a brief moment of shock, the Jin soldiers realized that the Song army on the other side was outnumbered. Then the Jin soldiers showed their toughness and rushed over with swords raised.

Qin Wenzhi also raised his knife: "When two meet on a narrow road, the brave prevails! Brothers, fight them!"

Wang Shan also shouted: "Revenge for our brothers!" Then he ran straight to Asu Miaozhao. He wanted to avenge his mother's murder.

Like a collision between a tiger and a lion, the two cavalry teams of Song and Jin collided with each other.

Qin Wenzhi led the charge, wielding his broadsword and slashing furiously. Wang Shan of Black Cliff Mountain, his eyes reddened, rushed forward without regard for his life.

Asu Miaozhao led his men forward, their horses neighing as Song and Jin soldiers fell around them. The two sides fought furiously, the sky darkening and the ground darkening, blood flowing like a river.

Dust billowed in the distance in the direction of Yunzhou. Qin Wenzhi was overjoyed, knowing that Zong Ze's reinforcements had arrived. He shouted, "Soldiers, charge! Reinforcements are coming! The Jin thieves will be defeated soon!"

The morale of the Song army was greatly boosted, and they charged forward bravely. Asu turned back angrily and said, "Wang Ce! Why didn't you come to help me?"

"No one is allowed to move without my order!" Wang Ce turned around and said to his men. Many of the Naxian soldiers led by Wang Ce were Liao soldiers who surrendered to the Jin Dynasty. No one dared to move without Wang Ce's order.

Asu Miaozhao was furious: "Wang Ce, if you don't help me, I will report you as a deserter and accuse you of collaborating with the enemy!"
