Chapter 40: The Bold Man Plays with the Princess

Princess Yanran was overjoyed: "Thank you, thank you!"

"You're welcome, you're welcome, girl, come with me now."

Princess Yanran led the horse and followed the woodcutter, taking deep and shallow steps forward. The mountain road became more and more rugged and desolate.

Yanran was secretly frightened, wondering if she had met a bad guy: "Uncle, I don't want to go with you. I want to go back." She asked tentatively.

The woodcutter threw away the firewood, revealing a ferocious face. He rushed over and blocked her way: "Girl, come home with me. I have delicious food at home. If you follow me, I will never let you go hungry."

It was truly audacious to play with the princess. Yanran was not the kind of delicate and delicate princess. She had also learned some martial arts, otherwise Wang Kai would not have let her escape alone.

There was no suspense about what happened next. The woodcutter, with a bruised face, led the way in front, and Princess Yanran followed proudly on horseback.

"Girl, young lady, you will see a small town when you turn the hill. That is the territory of the Song Dynasty." The woodcutter covered his face which was beaten like a pig's head. He had thrown away the firewood and the axe.

Princess Yanran giggled and said, "Thank you very much." She spurred her horse and ran away.

The white horse kicked and flew, and after turning the hillside, it found a small town ahead. Smoke from the town was curling up, and with great joy, it galloped even faster.

The woodcutter's bamboo basket was empty, and he sighed and walked back the way he had come. When he returned to the place where he had been beaten, the firewood he had collected and the axe he had used to chop wood were still lying on the ground.

He picked up the axe and put it on his waist, picked up the firewood and started to walk away. Suddenly, there was the sound of horse hooves, and a group of people and horses came running towards him.

These people were dressed in black, with their faces covered and swords hanging from their waists. It was obvious at first glance that they were not good people.

When the crowd saw the woodcutter stop his horse, one of them asked, "Have you seen a girl in white passing by?"

Following the principle of less trouble is worse than more, the woodcutter lowered his head and shook his head woodenly.

The man in black ignored him and galloped away. Suddenly, the man in black in front of him circled around and came back on his horse. This time, he put his sword to the woodcutter's neck without hesitation and said, "Where did you get the scar on your face? Tell me or I'll kill you!"

The woodcutter was horrified, thinking these people were the brother of the beautiful girl. Terrified, he knelt and begged for mercy, "Sir, spare my life. A girl did pass by here. I was clumsy in my words and offended her. I deserve the beating. She's heading towards Liuhe Town in the Great Song Dynasty."

With a "chi" sound, the man in black swung his long sword and cut the woodcutter in two.

PS: I recommend the books "The Great Empire of Chongzhen", "The Three Kingdoms: Zhuge's World" and "The Three Kingdoms: The Big Explosion of Soldiers". These are three books in a row. Friends who are short of books can take a look.
