Han Tiexin was completely bewildered. The emperor had personally appointed Li Haoran as the magistrate of Langya County during a secret visit, and he had himself killed Li Haoran. He hadn't expected the emperor to come again after visiting once. For the murder of Li Haoran alone, he feared he was doomed.

The two yamen runners held Sun Chenggong down fiercely. Sun Chenggong didn't know what they meant and was so frightened that he kept struggling: "Sir! I want to see you!"
"What are you yelling about?" Han Tiexin came out with an angry look on his face, pointing at Sun Chenggong and shouting, "You've disrupted the porridge stall for no reason and ignored my instructions! You deserve a severe punishment! Beat him!"
The bailiff raised the board and swung it hard!
