Chapter 183: A Long Life in the Human World is Hard to Come By

Chi Shushan walked over with two of his men to stop her: "Mei Duoer, how can a woman like you take care of this family? Don't forget your Qiqige."

He was talking about Mei Duo'er's daughter, and Mei Duo'er was obviously moved.

Chishushan continued, "Although this slave may be small, he can milk goats, herd your cattle, set up tents, and carry cow dung. If I gave you a strong one, what if he bullied you?"

The Mongolian was straightforward and decisive. Mei Duoer stood up and clapped her hands. "Okay, he can stay. But if he does more work than he eats, I'll throw him out to feed the wolves on the grassland."

Chishu Shanxia smiled and said, "He is your slave. You can do whatever you want with him. If he doesn't obey you, just kill him."

Mei Duoer pointed at Yu Bu Tong and said, "Go to the sheepfold and take those two lambs out to bask in the sun." Then she murmured to herself, "I don't know what's wrong, but these two lambs have recently contracted the plague. I'm afraid it can't be cured."

At the foot of Chishu Mountain, a horse whip was lashed at Yu Bu Tong fiercely: "You dog slave, I told you to go to the sheepfold, why don't you hurry up!"

"Hey!" Mei Duoer saw Chi Shushan's ruthless attack and tried to stop him.

Chishu Shan gave her a smile and said, "These slave dogs, if you don't like them, just whip them. Well, the Khan gave you a slave, so you can exchange it for two sheep."

As he spoke, Chishu Shan gave his men a wink, and two of his men rushed into the flock of sheep and each carried out a sheep.

Mei Duoer was shocked and tried to grab them: "What do you want to do! Didn't the Khan say that these were slaves he gave me? Why did you take my two sheep?"

Chishushan reached out to stop her and said, "Meiduoer, you know the rules of our Tatar tribe. We must pay tribute to the tribe with five sheep every month. Since your family is in financial difficulty and your husband has saved the Khan, I'll give you two sheep to make up for it."

Mei Duoer was furious and picked up a sheep dung shovel and hit him on the head: "You hateful thing, you are robbing people from your own tribe, you don't deserve to be Mongolians! I will beat you to death, I will beat you to death!"

Two of Chishushan's followers had already mounted their horses, each holding a sheep, and ran away. Chishushan ran and dodged, laughing loudly, and then he jumped on his horse and sped away.

Mei Duoer sat down and said: "Oh, who is the Khan of the Tatar tribe, Xingchen Jiu? He robbed the cattle and sheep of my own tribe! Oh, my two sheep!" Then she burst into tears.

When you are under someone's roof, you have to bow your head. Yu Bu Tong carried the two sick lambs out.

Mei Duoer was furious when she saw him. She went back to the tent, picked up the horsewhip and started whipping Yu Bu Tong: "Damn you Camel Gang member, damn you slave, you lost two of my sheep, I'll beat you to death!"

Yu Bu Tong, a well-read scholar and a prominent official of the Song Dynasty, was brutally beaten by a Mongolian woman, who treated him like a slave. Yu Bu Tong said nothing, silently enduring the lashing from this mad woman.

Seeing that he didn't know how to dodge, Mei Duoer whipped him a few times, threw away the whip and started crying again.

The grassland was a bit chilly at night. Yu Bu Tong huddled in the sheepfold with the sheep for warmth, his stomach growling with hunger. There was a light on in the crazy woman's tent, but she didn't want him to go in for dinner.

As a scholar, I have suffered such a profound humiliation. I truly wish I could die. But the mission Your Majesty has entrusted to me remains unfinished; how can I simply die? In ancient times, Su Wu herded sheep in the northern frontier, and today, I, Yu Bu Tong, am a slave on the grasslands.

Just as he was thinking about it, the curtain of the tent was lifted. Mei Duoer came into the sheep pen with a plate of cooked mutton and said, "Eat it, you damned camel gang member."

Yu Bu Tong wanted to refuse, but his stomach growled. After hesitating for a moment, he finally took it.

Mei Duoer turned around and went back to the tent without saying anything. After a while, she took out a quilt from inside and said, "There is no place for you here. You can sleep in the sheep shed tonight. It's a bit cold here at night. Cover yourself with this and you will be warm."

Yu Bu Tong gnawed his mutton and stared blankly at the woman. Although the woman was fierce, she was not a bad person at heart.

The next morning, Meiduoer got up early to clean the sheepfold, herd sheep and milk them.

Yu Bu Tong followed her and learned some Mongolian customs. Except for the beating she gave him yesterday, Mei Duo Er became less fierce, except for scolding Yu Bu Tong when he did something wrong.

Yu Bu Tong was herding sheep with a horsewhip in his hand. Qi Qi Ge quietly walked to Yu Bu Tong with a flower in her little hand.

Yu Bu Tong looked at her, and Qi Qi Ge whispered the flowers in her hand to Yu Bu Tong. Yu Bu Tong smiled at her, took the flowers and put them in Qi Qi Ge's hair.

Qiqige clapped her hands and ran away laughing: "Eji, Eji, hug Qiqige."

Everything that Yu Bu Tong had just done was seen by Mei Duo Er, who was far away. Mei Duo Er smiled and picked up Qi Qi Ge: "Oh, let me see, our Qi Qi Ge is so beautiful."

Qiqige smiled happily and waved in different directions.

Gradually, Mei Duoer and Yu Bu Tong became familiar with each other. She felt more and more that Yu Bu Tong was not an ordinary camel gang member.

"What exactly do you do?" One day, Meadow couldn't help but ask while she was milking the goat.

Yu Bu Tong pondered for a moment: "I want to go to the Mengwu Kingdom. Can you take me there?"

Unexpectedly, Mei Duo'er's face changed drastically, and she threw the goat milk bucket on the ground: "My man Gan Buhe was killed by the Mengwu people. You, a dog slave, must be in cahoots with them."

As he said this, he kicked the goat milk bucket over, then beat Yu Bu Tong, crying as he did so.

Yu Bu Tong just stood there in a daze and let him beat her, while Mei Duoer ran back to the tent crying and covering her mouth.
