Chapter 89: I Will Be a Loyal Minister

Thinking of sons and good ministers, good ministers are truly worth thinking of:

"Go out in the morning to attack, and return at night."

Wanyan Quxian pushed him to the ground. He looked at Wanyan Ang and said, "Crazy! Crazy! This guy is crazy!"

Bai Wanli laughed heartily and continued singing on the ground...

Suddenly, bursts of smoke rose from the top of the Yixian Valley mountain, followed by the appearance of teams of Song troops.

The Song soldiers drew their bows and arrows and shot at the Jin soldiers at the bottom of the valley.

The Jin soldiers were blocked in the middle of the valley and immediately fell into chaos, trying desperately to escape to the exit.

The Song army above threw countless stones at the entrance and exit, which crushed and killed dozens of Jin soldiers. The Jin soldiers had to retreat back to the valley.

There were over 3,000 Jin soldiers in the valley, while there were less than 300 Song soldiers at the top of the valley. Even so, these 3,000 Jin soldiers were trapped in the valley and had no way forward or backward.

Wanyan Ang knew that it was Bai Wanli who betrayed them, and he was furious and swung his sword.

Bai Wanli watched him laugh and continue to sing the folk song. When he fell, a smile still lingered on his lips. He washed away his sins with his own blood.

Meng Xiaochao, the general on the top of the valley, heard the singing from the bottom of the valley and heard soldiers report that a large group of Jin soldiers had appeared below. He was shocked, as if the Jin soldiers had fallen from the sky.

Meng Xiaochao was terrified. He knew that the forage base was just down the path through the valley. He immediately ordered his soldiers to throw rocks to block the entrance and exit, while lighting a beacon fire to call for help.

Yixian Valley was a natural barrier that was easy to defend but difficult to attack. Wanyan Ang and his men had once again made their way into the valley. Meng Xiaochao ordered his soldiers to block the two exits and hold them tight. If the Jin soldiers dared to attempt any of these, they would hurl stones and fire arrows from the valley's roof. Thus, these over 3,000 Jin soldiers were effectively trapped in the valley by the 300 Song soldiers overhead.

The Song army in Wanghuzhai saw the beacon fire in Yixian Valley and quickly reported it to the commander.

Jia Loushan, commander of Wanghuzhai, immediately came to support with 500 Song troops.

Liao Datou, the Song army commander of the third line of defense on the rocky hill, saw the smoke and beacon fire from the direction of the Yixian Valley behind the mountain. Knowing that the enemy was about to attack, he organized the local militia to transfer food and supplies, and at the same time rushed to the Yixian Valley along the mountain road to provide assistance.

When Jia Loushan and Liao Datou arrived at Yixian Valley, their armies were blocking both ends of the valley, with rows of bows and crossbows aimed at the exits. Wanyan Ang and his men had no way to escape.

Wanyan Ang advanced alone, a risky move. However, he was surrounded by Song garrisons. With his three thousand men trapped in this narrow valley, his entire army was doomed.

The Song army gathered together, and only when they discovered the Majiazhuang massacre did they realize the seriousness of the matter.

Zhong Hong immediately dispatched the Julu and Pingxiang troops to provide assistance to Yixiang Valley.

When nearly 20,000 garrisons from various places arrived at Yixian Valley, Wanyan Ang had already been besieged in the valley for three days and three nights.
