So the three of them surrounded the prince and found the Privy Councilor who issued an edict in his capacity as the regent prince to pardon Zhan Yunpeng. After the edict was drafted, the prince's personal guards were quickly sent to the execution ground.

Without any trial, and without the involvement of officials from the Ministry of Justice or the Ministry of War, Guo Jing simply read out the verdict: "In compliance with the Imperial Order! The prisoner, Zhan Yunpeng, is to be executed on the spot! Behead!"
The executioner took a sip of wine, held it in his mouth, and sprayed it on the dagger, then raised the dagger in his hand.
