Chapter 5 The New King
That night, the villagers of Windmill Village all slept restlessly.
From time to time, they would look out the window at the thing on the sea that Captain Yale called a "starship", worrying that the thing would suddenly open the door and the people inside would rush out in anger and kill them all.
They had experienced this feeling once before.
That was 10 years ago, the Red Hair Pirates landed on this island and stayed here for a period of time.
Although the pirates acted friendly and enthusiastic, some people in the village were still worried for a while before they gradually calmed down.
Is this time the same as last time? Or... no one dares to think about the different consequences.
They spent the night in fear, and when the villagers fell into a drowsy sleep in the early morning they were awakened by a burst of "bang" and "bang" cannon fire and cheerful music.
Everyone rushed out of their homes - some even forgot to wear coats - and at first they thought it was the pirates who finally lost control of their nature, but when they saw the situation outside, they were stunned.
"This..." Village chief Wu Pu opened his mouth wide and looked at the scene happening in front of him in disbelief.
A long red carpet inlaid with gold edges stretches from the distance to the seaside.
The kingdom's ceremonial band was playing cheerful songs, rows of soldiers lined up on both sides of the red carpet, and some people were firing hand-held cannons into the sky.
But these are not the most important things. The most important thing is the old man standing on the beach, dressed luxuriously but respectfully.
Up had once seen him from a distance while walking downtown.
That was clearly the current king of the island they were on - the Kingdom of Goa, as well as the king's queen and the prince and princess.
The four of them bowed with great respect.
The king raised his hands, holding in his hands the crown that he treasured most.
The starship disappeared, just like yesterday, it turned into flying stars and condensed into small and inconspicuous decorations on the man's clothes.
Yale walked on the sea towards the red carpet on the beach, casually picked up the crown held high by the king, and curled his lips in disgust.
A cluster of platinum flames suddenly enveloped the crown and disappeared in the blink of an eye.
The crown became bright, and the gems on the crown sparkled.
The burning flame seemed to take away all the impurities on the crown, leaving only the purest color.
Only then did Yale place the crown diagonally on his hair.
The amazing thing is that it didn't shake or fall off. The brilliant golden color complemented the man's golden pupils, so dazzling that people dared not look directly at it.
It was not until then that some villagers remembered what the man had said yesterday.
"In fact, I will be your future king." - Who would have thought that the next day after the other party said it, without any sound of fighting, this sentence would become a reality.
Even though their current king was not a good person either, it felt that being ruled by this mysterious and terrifying man was a worse thing.
But what could they do? It seemed that everyone, including the king and the soldiers, had their minds controlled by the other party.

"This palace is quite nice. It turns out that even on a planet with the lowest productivity, as long as there are class divisions, there will definitely be various privileges."
Half an hour later, Yale sat on the king's gold-inlaid throne.
His sitting posture was not dignified, and even a little too lazy and casual. One leg was directly placed on the armrest, and the whole person was lying at an angle, like a boneless cat.
But no one complained to him. The king - or rather the former king - stood respectfully below with his ministers, awaiting his further orders.
The former king had a flattering smile on his face, with wrinkles piled up layer by layer.
"Captain Yale, are you satisfied with this palace? If not, I will immediately send people to build a better palace for you!"
"No need. What's your name?" Yale glanced at him and waved his hand indifferently when he actively tried to introduce himself.
"It doesn't matter. I'm too lazy to remember your names. Do you know how many people there are in your country?"
"This..." The former king was sweating nervously and immediately winked at the ministers nearby.
The minister immediately reminded in a low voice.
"About 10,000 people."
The former king shouted back, "About ten thousand, Captain Yale!"
"What do you mean about 10,000 people?" Yale asked in confusion.
"Ten thousand and one is still about ten thousand people, and nine thousand is still about ten thousand people. Has anyone done a specific headcount?"
"This..." The former king laughed awkwardly and explained weakly.
"This is our fault, Captain Yale. We... our country has some... uh, parasites. They... they don't deserve to be citizens, so... so..."
His voice became increasingly trembling.
Under Yale's calm golden eyes, the beads of sweat on his face connected together, as if he was caught in a rainstorm that only he could feel.
"Forget it, I knew I couldn't count on you." Yale withdrew his gaze, his golden pupils reflecting the virtual screen in front of him.
"Remember this: there are currently 10,283 people on your island, not counting pregnant women and their babies. Of these, 172 live in the palace, 428 live in Gao Town, 5,692 live in Central Street, 935 live in Duan Town, and 1,984 live in suburban villages. The rest include homeless people, bandits, and the like, totaling 1,072 people. Remember this?"
Everyone felt dizzy after hearing this and immediately knelt down in fear.
They obviously just listened to the formalities and did not listen carefully to the specific number that Yale mentioned.
Yale sighed and started operating on the screen.
"It doesn't matter. I never overestimate the intelligence of natives from planets like you who can't even reach the first-level civilization."
After he finished speaking, no one in the hall dared to speak.
Everyone kept their heads down and knelt, not daring to make any sound.
Yale no longer paid attention to them. He focused on the projection on the virtual screen.
The metal ball sent here by the soldier commander yesterday has now flown over the island.
One of its cracks opened, revealing an eye-like detection module that covered the entire island and the surrounding sea from top to bottom.
It can be said that now everything on the island - even the ant nests underground - can be clearly observed and controlled by Yale.
The most spectacular thing about the Goa Kingdom, or perhaps the reason why it became a member of the World Government, is the towering city walls it built.
This wall completely isolates all "unnecessary things" and is a successful example of "isolation society" in the eyes of the world government.
But that's all in the past.
Now that Yale is king, the wall is no longer needed.
As this thought came to his mind, Yale casually selected the city wall on the screen.
The metal ball floating above the island locked its sights at the same time, scanning and selecting all the city walls at femtosecond speed.

The Uncertainty Terminal, located outside the towering city walls, is the garbage dump of the Goa Kingdom.
All the garbage produced within the city walls will be pulled out and dumped together by special people every day.
Among these garbage, there is some leftover food and even clothes and jewelry that the nobles don’t want. If you are lucky enough to pick up something good, you can sell it and get a lot of Baileys.
Another truckload of garbage was dumped.
The homeless people living in the garbage dump rushed in and scrambled for the good stuff in the garbage.
Their origins are varied. Some have lived here since childhood, some were driven out of the town because they could not pay the heavenly gold, and some fled from outer islands to avoid danger.
In short, it is meaningless to worry about past identities. They are all the same now. It just depends on who has the bigger fist and who has more say.
"Tsk, a bunch of trash."
The soldier in charge of taking out the trash sneered disdainfully.
The sound was not small, but no one who was rummaging through the garbage paid any attention to it.
The soldier also felt bored. When he was pushing the garbage truck back, he suddenly heard a rumbling sound.
The earth was shaking, and sand and gravel fell from the brick walls.
Everyone looked up in confusion, looking at a scene that would be unforgettable in their lives.
The magnificent city wall that had consumed countless manpower and resources actually collapsed!
Bricks fell off the wall from top to bottom and flew into the air.
After all the bricks flew into the sky, the garbage on the ground also flew up, gathered into a huge garbage ball in the air, and was then burned into ashes by the platinum flame that suddenly appeared.
The earth, which had been soaked in garbage for many years, also burned with a platinum fire.
Before anyone could react, the fire was gone, leaving behind clean, cleared land.
It was only at this moment that everyone remembered to scream and flee in panic.
Their departure just made room.
This former garbage dump has now become a suitable place for building houses.
But of course Yale would not be kind enough to help them build houses again.
It was a sign of his kindness that he helped burn the garbage dump.
"Everyone on this island, please gather at the central street square immediately to receive your new citizen ID cards. From today on, the Kingdom of Goa is officially renamed Goa City!"
A huge male voice came from high in the sky, and it could be heard clearly no matter where you were on the island.
Yale paused and continued, "After you get your ID cards today, the mayoral election will be held tomorrow. All citizens 18 and over have the right to vote—of course, you can choose not to come—and the deadline is midnight tonight. Anyone without an ID card will be immediately expelled from Goya City."
At the same time, while Yale was reorganizing the Kingdom of Goa, a naval warship from the nearest base received a call for help and arrived at the sea near the Kingdom of Goa.
Unlike the Grand Line, which requires special pointers, the Four Seas not only has a nautical chart, but can also be navigated by a compass.
But when they sailed here according to the chart and compass, there was only vast ocean around them, without any sign of an island.
"Hasn't it arrived yet?" The naval captain in charge of commanding the warship was a little confused.
But after all, there was no way to confirm it from a high place, so they could only continue searching along the established route.
However, not far from the warship, the island where the Kingdom of Goa was located was clearly there.
The metal ball floating in the air opened its second eye and locked its gaze firmly on the warship not far away.
The author has something to say:
