Chapter 7 The Lost Island

Chapter 7 The Disappearing Island

The ID card is the most important and only identification document for citizens of Goa City. It is needed whether applying for a job, opening a shop, going to school, or enjoying various welfare benefits.

After tomorrow's mayoral election, Goa will no longer have a king or aristocracy, but only citizens of equal status.

The only tax that citizens have to pay is the citizen tax, which is used for urban construction and welfare distribution.

There is so much content in the booklet and it is so heavy.

After reading less than three lines, Makino was so shocked that he dared not read any further.

If it's really as the booklet says, maybe... they will have a good life in the future.

But is it really possible? That mysterious captain... doesn't look like a good person at all.

"Go back, Makino." The village chief called out, and when Makino walked over, he asked worriedly.

"Did that metal ball tell you what you're going to do next?"

Makino nodded and said thankfully.

"He's still the owner of the tavern. Where's the village chief?"

"Same, I am still the village chief of Windmill Village." The village chief said in a complicated tone.

"Many people in the village were recruited as construction workers. They said they were going to build a road from the town to the village."

Makino pursed his lips and asked, "Will you give me a salary?"

Village chief: “That’s quite a few.”

He gestured to Makino to look at the cheerful young people.

They used to be fishermen and didn't make much money.

But starting tomorrow, they will be doing new jobs.

"It's good to be able to make money, but I'm afraid... forget it." Makino sighed and suddenly thought of something.

"By the way, Village Chief, I want to go to Dadan. I wonder if they have gone to get their ID cards."

The village chief frowned, "But the mountains are too dangerous."

There are many ferocious beasts in Mount Gorpo.

In the past, when they went to visit Luffy, they always went with Garp.

But this time, without Garp and Luffy, entering the mountains would be tantamount to seeking death.

"I know, but they don't know how powerful that person is, so they may not obey and apply for ID cards."

Makino took a deep breath, clenched the ID card in his hand, and reminded him, "Do you remember what that man said? Not only will he not hurt us, but he will protect us."

This may be the only chance to verify whether the man is good or bad.

"This..." The village chief was speechless, and his expression quickly became firm.

"Then I'll go. You're still young, there's no need to take risks."

Makino: "I was the one who brought this up, so I have to go."

At the end of the argument, Makino and the village chief went into the mountains together.

Despite their caution, the aroma of the food attracted a tiger roaming nearby.

With a deafening roar, the tiger jumped out of the bushes and pounced towards them.

The next second, just like the king of the sea with no external injuries, the tiger fell to the ground and lost its life in the blink of an eye.

"A warning! Do not risk your life. Tell us why you entered the forest!"

The metal ball flew over, and the light it emitted scanned the bodies of the two frightened people.

Makino covered his pounding heart and said nervously.

"We...we know some bandits living in the mountains, and we want to inform them to apply for ID cards."

"The reason has been passed, please hurry up."

The metal ball followed them, urging them to speed up.

There were no more obstacles for Makino and the village chief.

"It's wonderful. The friendship between the indigenous people is very touching."

Yale threw a grape into his mouth. Although it was not as delicious as the devil fruit, it was still pretty good.

Right in front of him was the surveillance footage of Makino and the village chief.

The two men supported each other and reached the bandit hut.

However, at this time, Dadan and the bandits went out hunting, and only a few bandits were left guarding the hut.

"You must go to the square to get your ID cards, understand? You must tell Dadan! Otherwise, you will definitely be in danger. That man has already occupied the Kingdom of Goa!"

Makino's instructions were quickly stopped by the metal ball.

The bandits looked at the talking ball in amazement.

The ball flashed red warningly.

"Citizen Makino, please modify your disrespectful address!"

"S-Sorry!" Makino was horrified to find that he was floating.

She immediately changed her tone and shouted, "Captain Yale—respected Captain Yale!"

She fell back to the ground.

"If only she could be a little more rude." Yale shook his head regretfully.

"Then I can throw her into the sea, and she will return to the embrace of the universe."

He stretched out his arms as if to give someone a warm hug.

However, at this moment, the metal ball reported: "Dear Captain Yale, the navy you are concerned about has arrived at a new island."

Yale put down his hand and tilted his head to look at the newly appeared projection screen.

On the vast ocean, a naval warship arrived at the port of the island closest to the Kingdom of Goa.

After confirming the name of the island, the naval captain had to admit their mistake.

They missed the Kingdom of Goa and deviated directly to the next island.

But how is this possible?

The navigator on the ship is an old sailor who has been sailing in the East China Sea for more than ten years. He is very experienced and has so many naval assistants. How could there be any mistakes in the navigation?

"This isn't the Grand Line, there's no way we're going off course!"

The navigator said excitedly that he couldn't believe he had made such a mistake.

Now that the Kingdom of Goa is in danger, they are unable to rush to its rescue...

Even if they didn't care about the lives there, they still had to think about how to deal with the anger of Vice Admiral Garp who called them to give them the order.

The captain sighed helplessly and patted the emotional navigator on the shoulder.

"Restock the supplies and go back. Everyone should be more careful this time. There will be no problem!"

Under the surveillance of the metal ball, the navy quickly purchased supplies and set sail again.

Yale stretched and smiled maliciously.

"Search, search, search, and finally get completely lost in this beautiful ocean."

He disappeared from where he was and reappeared at the port of the island the navy had left.

The sea breeze blew his bright red hair, he turned around, his golden eyes covering the peaceful and tranquil town.

Another island disappeared from the sea.

"Hah—a citizen ID card?!"

Dadan scratched his ear with a look of disdain, and didn't care at all about the so-called Captain Yale.

"Wake up, everyone! We are free bandits! Why do we need a citizen ID card from the Kingdom of Goa?"

The remaining bandits who were knocked down by her punches wanted to say something else.

But Dadan had already turned around and left, calling on the other bandits to quickly set up the pot and light the fire.

They were going to celebrate for getting rid of that big trouble Luffy.

After a few drinks, the bandits who had wanted to persuade Dadan to think it over again also forgot about their citizen ID cards.

The boss is right, they are bandits and not citizens of the Kingdom of Goa, why should they get a useless ID card!

"Burp~~~" A long burp came out.

Dadan staggered to his feet, raised his glass, and shouted, "Drink! Drink more! There's plenty of wine to drink today, so eat your fill!"

Just as he finished saying this, several more bandits fell down drunkenly.

"Hahaha, you guys—you guys can drink so much—"

Dadan pointed at the drunk people, but before he finished laughing, he fell to the ground and fell into a deep sleep.

Time passes by every second.

Soon, the day was completely over.

The bandits were awakened by the freezing cold sea water.

Dadan choked on the water a few times and was shocked to find that they were now on the dark, undulating, endless sea.

There was no time to think about why they came here. Dadan coughed out the sea water that had choked into his trachea, tried to relax his body and float up, and shouted the names of the other bandits, asking them to stay calm.

She knew very well that the bandits were right beside her because she heard their panicked shouts.

In this world, apart from those who have the ability of devil fruits, there are very few people who cannot use water.

Even these bandits are no exception.

Soon, everyone was temporarily stabilized.

Someone cried, "Boss, it's our ID cards. Because we didn't have them, that man threw us into the sea!"

"How is it possible!" Dadan couldn't believe it.

If there was any danger approaching, she would definitely notice it.

"What should we do now, Boss? What if a sea monster eats us..."

"No, don't be such a pessimist! Sea beasts...sea beasts need to sleep at night too."

"Shut up!" Dadan pretended to be calm.

"Your noises are too loud and will attract sea beasts."

Everyone fell silent, and the only sound around them was the crashing of the waves.

Dadan felt that his body was about to be frozen after being immersed in the sea water.

"We shouldn't be far from the island. He can't have thrown us too far away. Let's swim back!"

However, where to swim is also a problem.

No matter how hard they looked, they could not find any outline of land except the sea.

After leaving the Navy Headquarters, Garp led his dog-head warship directly through the doldrums and quickly entered the East China Sea.

Even though the warship's speed has reached its limit, it will still take at least three days to reach the Kingdom of Goa.

How will that pirate treat the villagers of Windmill Village during these three days?

Just as Garp was getting anxious, the Den Den Mushi on the warship rang.

A communication came from the naval base near the Kingdom of Goa.

Garp answered the phone immediately, but before he could speak, the Den Den Mushi imitated a face that looked very familiar to him.

Dadan burst into tears and cried loudly, "Mr. Garp - come and save us quickly! The Kingdom of Goa is gone!"

Karp was shocked and his brows furrowed immediately.

Admiral Aokiji, who was lying on a beach chair, also took off his eye mask and looked at Den Den Mushi seriously.

The Kingdom is Gone—What Does This Mean?

"No matter how hard we searched, there was no sign of the Goa Kingdom on the sea—we searched multiple times, and everyone on the ship can attest to that, including these few survivors!"

Inside the naval base, the navy captain was so anxious that he almost took out his heart to prove that they had not neglected their duties.

This lineup is so terrifying. Not only the navy hero Vice Admiral Garp is here, but also the navy admiral Aokiji!

If they misunderstood that I had neglected my duties, not only would my naval career be over, but I would also have to spend the rest of my life in prison.
