Bizhu stood aside serving tea and water, while Granny Cheng was in charge of scalding and serving the dishes.
You don't need to ask Cheng how it tastes; she won't tell the truth. You can tell just by looking at her expression and actions.
She finished all the dishes that Granny Cheng had prepared. There was a whole table of food, but she couldn't eat anymore after eating half of it.
She reluctantly turned her gaze away from the spicy crab, put down her chopsticks, and said with great satisfaction, "I'm full, Granny. You and Bizhu can eat the rest!"
No sooner had the words left his mouth than the waiter knocked on the door and brought in his drink.
The complimentary drink was a fruit beverage to aid digestion after meals.
Cheng sipped the sweet and sour fruit drink with satisfaction, thinking to herself that although Jiang was of humble status, she was quite good at doing business, and Yuan'er would not have to worry about running out of money in the future.
"Madam, this seafood is so fresh and delicious! It can be eaten raw with just a dip in sauce. It's incredible!" Granny Cheng rarely exclaimed.
"The spicy crab tastes so good, and so does this mandarin fish... I've never eaten such delicious and refreshing dishes before. It's all thanks to Madam for bringing us out to broaden our horizons!" Bizhu praised as she ate.
Cheng's lips curled up slightly, and she said smugly, "I still think that seafood tastes better when it's blanched in hot pot broth. It doesn't mask its natural sweetness, and the texture is excellent."
"Yes!" Granny Cheng nodded in agreement. "It's a pity that this way of eating is not available in the capital, and it's extremely rare to see crabs and shrimp this big. I'm afraid it will be difficult to eat them again in the future!"
Bizhu quickly said, "What's so difficult about that! This shop belongs to the Jiang family. If Madam just says a word, how dare she not be filial?"
Cheng was very pleased with Bizhu's words; Jiang should be as pragmatic as she is!
After the three of them had eaten and drunk their fill, Mrs. Cheng began to feel drowsy.
The waiter knocked on the door again and said politely, "Hello, guest! Your dining time has come. The next guest who made a reservation will be arriving in a quarter of an hour. You may move to the lounge area."
Cheng slowly came to her senses, pondered for a moment, and then understood.
This meant they were being asked to leave! Although he was displeased, he didn't say anything more.
But when the waiter led her to the lounge area, her face immediately darkened.
It is indeed a rest area, but it is already full of people. How can you compare her to these ordinary people?
Bizhu immediately retorted angrily, "My lady wants to rest here, all of you get out!"
The people in the rest area looked at the newcomers with strange and unfriendly expressions.
Where did this nouveau riche come from? Don't they know the rules?
The waiter politely explained, "This is a temporary rest area we've prepared specifically for our dining guests. It's furnished with pastries, tea, and fruit, and you can help yourself at any time. It's free; it's not private, and all guests have the right to enjoy the services here."
Having said all that, Cheng Shi, who could never tolerate being looked down upon, turned and left in a fit of anger.
Back in the carriage, Madam Cheng secretly thought to herself that she would definitely teach Jiang a lesson in front of the servants and make her show no respect for her elders!
When they came out of the shop, it was already completely dark outside. There was still no news from Fu Qiyuan, so Madam Cheng had no choice but to get back into the carriage.
"Madam, what should we do now?" Bizhu asked.
What else could we do but wait in the carriage?
The entrance to Jiang's Private Kitchen was brightly lit, with customers coming and going in waves, and the number of people queuing to eat never decreased.
Having witnessed all of this, Cheng secretly began to make a plan.
"Hasn't Jiang returned yet? Go and ask again." Unable to bear the cold any longer, Cheng urged Bizhu to ask again.
Just as Bizhu was about to go over and ask, she saw a young woman wearing a white cloak and a snow-white fox fur coat walking towards her in the distance, surrounded by a retinue of people.
Her skin was as white as snow, her figure graceful and elegant, and her smile was captivating.
What a beautiful woman!
Bizhu watched intently as the woman chatted and laughed with the man beside her. The man nodded repeatedly, and the others also showed expressions of joy.
"That's all for today. Thank you all for your hard work! Let's go upstairs for lunch, and we can discuss the rest tomorrow!"
As Bizhu heard the woman speaking, she led the group into the Jiang Family Private Kitchen.
"Bizhu, what's wrong?" Madam Cheng lifted the carriage curtain and saw Jiang Shan leading a group of people into the shop.
Bizhu didn't say anything, but quickly walked to the door and talked to the welcoming waiter.
The waiter whispered something, and Bizhu turned around stiffly, walking absentmindedly to the carriage.
"Well, did you get the answers?" Cheng asked.
Bizhu swallowed hard, pointing to the shop's entrance, "The Jiang family... the Jiang family is back..."
Cheng's eyes lit up.
"The woman in the white cloak who just went in is from the Jiang family..."
Bizhu's eyes were somewhat vacant, and a bitter feeling welled up in her heart.
Cheng looked at Bizhu in shock, "What did you say? The woman who was escorted in just now was Jiang?"
How is that possible!
How could a country bumpkin like her have such a grand entrance?
"Come, follow me inside and take a look!"
After the lobby waiter went upstairs to announce his arrival, Liangchen came down.
"Madam, are you the one who wants to see our young lady?" Liangchen curtsied and asked in a respectful but not arrogant manner.
As soon as Bizhu saw Liangchen, all the fur on her body stood on end!
As fellow maids, Bizhu's mind was instantly filled with a woman's innate competitive spirit and hostility towards her own sex.
Her clothes weren't as pretty as mine, but the hairpin in her hair was more expensive than mine... She was prettier than me, but her figure wasn't as good as mine...
Madam Cheng glanced at Liang Chen, then disdainfully looked away and said, "Enough with the nonsense, take me to see her!"
Liangchen didn't say anything and led Cheng up to the third floor.
This time, Liangchen took Cheng Shi directly to Jiangshan's private reception room.
After Meijing served the tea, Liangchen said, "Madam, please wait a moment. My young lady is entertaining distinguished guests and will be here shortly."
Good times may pass, but beauty remains, waiting to serve.
Before Cheng could figure out how to give Jiangshan a hard time, the door opened.
Jiang Shan walked in, looked around, and smiled, "I heard that a distinguished person in the capital wants to see me. May I ask what brings this lady in such a hurry to see me?"
Cheng stared blankly at Jiang Shan's beautiful face, all her words stuck in her throat, unable to utter a single syllable.
It was dark before, so I couldn't see her clearly. But seeing her so closely now, she had a strange feeling.
If she was said to be the daughter of some high-ranking official or noble family, Madam Cheng believed it; but if she was said to be from the Jiang family, Madam Cheng simply refused to believe it.
"You...you're the Jiang family? The owner of Jiang's Private Kitchen?"
Jiang Shan sat down on her own, and Liang Chen immediately served her tea and stood behind her.
The personal maid exudes a powerful aura.
"I'm sorry to disappoint you! Yes, I am Jiang Shan, the owner of Jiang's Private Kitchen!"
