Time passes.
When Chuxian was fourteen years old, a fairy who claimed to be from Penglai came to the palace.
The emperor and the queen came to welcome them respectfully, and the little princess lay outside the door and peeked.
Taoist Ling Xiao's face was covered with wrinkles, and his beard hung down to his chest, as long and thick as a waterfall.
He looked so kind that he seemed to be able to embrace everything. His robe hung down to the ground, fluttering gently in the windless air.
The girl had only one eye out to look, but somehow she was discovered.
The old man smiled and waved at her, "Come here."
The emperor then realized that his daughter had been standing outside the door. He looked a little embarrassed and cleared his throat.
"Xian'er, my father has told me many times that as a princess, you shouldn't always eavesdrop outside. This is against the rules."
The man pretended to be angry, causing Taoist Ling Xiao to flick his sleeves.
"It's all just formalities, no problem. Little girl, come over here and let me take a look, okay?"
Chu Xian timidly walked to the Queen's side and was pushed over again.
"Don't be afraid, the Taoist priest won't do anything to you."
The girl followed the other person's instructions and held out her palm.
A cool line wrapped around her fingers and turned into pure blue.
The old man's eyes were deep and quiet, as if they contained the wisdom of ancient times, and his eyes lit up.
"A rare water spirit root, not bad, not bad."
Although the emperor and his wife did not understand, they judged from Taoist Lingxiao's tone that the person must have good qualifications, and their faces immediately showed joy.
The girl pursed her lips and blinked her eyelashes. What does it mean?
A thin stream of spiritual energy floated in the Taoist's palm, gathering into a silver-white long sword. It appeared out of thin air, shocking everyone present.
The words of persuasion, "Do you want to learn from me?"
The girl's heart was moved, and she reached out to touch it out of curiosity, but her fingertips pierced through the sword, as if it was just an illusion.
"What? It's fake!"
The old man stroked his beard and laughed, "How about you try it again?"
The tender index finger reached out again, but was blocked by a hard object, and was now able to touch the sword.
So magical.
"It's just the most basic technique. If you're interested, I can teach you later."
What Taoist Ling Xiao didn't finish saying was that with her qualifications, if nothing unexpected happened, she would be able to surpass him in the future.
Being accepted as a disciple by an immortal is a rare opportunity, one that cannot be found among millions of people, so the emperor wanted to agree on behalf of his daughter without any hesitation.
The girl slowed down. "You mean I should follow you to Penglai? Not in Xianling?"
The old man put away his sword and nodded, "Yes, the spiritual energy in the mortal world is scarce, so it is naturally not as good as the fairyland."
She took two steps back and said, "No, I won't go."
The Queen advised, "Xian'er, how can you give up such an opportunity that so many people long for?"
The little princess bit her lower lip tightly, tears in her eyes.
"No! I don't want to learn any magic. Are you going to abandon me?"
Without waiting for anyone to react, she rushed out the door and ran away, as if a flood or a beast was chasing her.
Night falls.
Darkness enveloped the entire garden, and the girl hiding in the rockery had a rapid heartbeat.
She hugged herself tightly, her body trembling slightly, and the stones of the rockery were cold and rough.
The leaves rubbed against each other in the darkness, making a faint sound.
The chill spread from Chuxian's feet to her entire body, as if an invisible hand was gently stroking her spine.
Goose bumps appeared on the girl's skin.
He was so hungry that he was confused and his eyes were half closed.
A slender hand stretched out in front of her, and she was so scared that she fell down, not the hard floor as expected, but a warm embrace.
"elder brother?"
Jiang Li held her firmly in his arms and walked back just like when they were little.
"Xian'er is being naughty again. Are you hungry?"
After asking, he gently touched the girl's abdomen. It was empty and deflated, as if she hadn't eaten for a day.
I sighed with heartache.
"Brother, how did you find me?"
The other person smiled and didn't say anything. He saw that she was not hiding well at all, and even her skirt was exposed.
A gentle voice replied to her, "Because no matter where you are, I can always find you..."
later.
It took Jiangli a long time to convince his sister to cherish the hard-won opportunity to practice.
In the end, Chuxian followed Taoist Lingxiao and stepped into the legendary Penglai.
Ruan Mian opened his eyes.
I lay on the soft bed, and saw that the furnishings were all expensive porcelain, like the bedroom of some royal family.
It was silent and quiet, with only the dim candlelight flickering.
It was obvious that someone cleaned the house regularly, and it was tidy and clean, but one could still smell the odor of rotten wood, indicating that no one had lived there for a long time.
The bright yellow brocade quilt she was covered with was very soft.
I'm not dead?
She touched her neck tremblingly, and still remembered the gray-clothed man's sickle chopping down on her fiercely, and then she lost consciousness.
Was the dream she just had before the demise of Xianling Kingdom?
Why can she see?
There are so many questions, and no one has answers.
The dull sound of iron chains coming from outside the house made people shudder.
She looked around frantically, but there was no place to hide.
The sound became clearer and closer.
Ruan Mian could only cover his head with the quilt, hold his breath, and hug his knees tightly, trying to make himself feel safer.
"Brother Song, where are you? I'm so scared."
It's very quiet around here. Could he have left?
The girl didn't dare to come out rashly. After a long time, she opened a crack and unexpectedly looked into his eyes.
The man in gray came in at some point and sat on the chair opposite, looking at her.
