Chapter 10 Xu Heyi: "What did you call me?"

Chapter 10 Xu Heyi: "What did you call me?"

As soon as I entered the room, I saw Old Man Jiang lying on a bamboo chair listening to opera. There was a pot of tea and three teacups on the table.

Hearing the noise, Mr. Jiang sat up and said with a smile, "You came a little early. Cooking hasn't started yet."

Jiang Nuanzhu's gentle voice was a little coquettish: "We are not here just to eat for free."

"That's right! Our new son-in-law is here, so I, an old man, shouldn't treat him well, right?"

Jiang Nuanzhu blushed, "Grandpa!"

Old Master Jiang smiled and waved: "Okay, okay, I won't say anything more, I won't say anything more."

Jiang Nuanzhu added tea to Mr. Jiang's teacup and poured another cup for Xu Heyi and herself.

Xu Heyi took a sip and said, "The tea has a rich aroma, and the pear fragrance is elegant and refreshing."

"You are a taster."

Grandpa Jiang smiled and explained, "This is a specially made pear blossom tea. Every year when the pear trees in the yard bloom, her grandmother loves to brew a pot of pear blossom tea and pair it with a plate of pear blossom pastries. Xiaozhu is just like her grandmother and only drinks pear blossom tea."

Xu Heyi's voice was calm, "Grandpa, do you have any more here?"

Jiang Nuanzhu looked at him curiously, "You like it too?"

"If you like it, take some home for later use."

Jiang Nuanzhu's eyes trembled slightly, and she looked at Xu Heyi for a second, then subconsciously lowered her eyes and looked away.

Old Master Jiang smiled and said, "Okay, okay! I'll ask Xiao Li to pack two more boxes later, and then you two can drink together."

Mr. Jiang paused his smile and asked, "When are you planning to go to Xishan Mansion?"

Xishan Mansion is the residence of Jiang's father and mother. The old man asked when Xu Heyi would go to meet his father-in-law and mother-in-law.

Jiang Nuanzhu spoke first: "We're going to have dinner tonight. I've already told my parents."

Old Master Jiang nodded. "After you got the marriage certificate, I called your father and asked him to deal with the Yan family's affairs. I haven't even settled accounts with them for arranging a blind date between you and Yan Shi."

Even though Xu Heyi was there, Old Master Jiang didn't care too much and said bluntly: "If anyone in the Jiang family dares to make things difficult for you, just tell grandpa and I will help you deal with them."

Jiang Nuanzhu responded softly.

No wonder when she called to inform him about her marriage last night, Father Jiang didn't say a word. It turned out that Grandpa had already arranged it.

Xu Heyi said in a deep voice: "Grandpa, I will accompany Nuanzhu."

"I feel at ease with you by Nuanzhu's side." Old Master Jiang's tone showed his great trust in Xu Heyi.

"I've talked to your parents about the wedding. What do you two young people think?"

Jiang Nuanzhu looked at Xu Heyi and said softly, "We've discussed it and we don't think it's necessary to have a big party. Just invite some relatives and friends."

Both the Jiang and Xu families are wealthy. If they hold a grand wedding, it will take at least half a year to a year, which is really unnecessary.

"Your father and I agree with this." Old Master Jiang nodded slightly and said to Xu Heyi, "Your mother said she asked a fortune teller to look at the date, and the 27th of next month is a good date."

Xu Heyi looked at Jiang Nuanzhu, and Jiang Nuanzhu said, "...I will follow Grandpa's arrangements."

"Okay."

After chatting for a while, Mother Li came into the kitchen carrying a basket of pear blossoms.

The old man pulled Xu Heyi to play chess. Jiang Nuanzhu was bored, so she made a pot of fresh tea for them and followed them to the kitchen.

"Miss Nuanzhu, why did you come in?"

"Let me see if there's anything I can do to help." Jiang Nuanzhu saw the prepared ingredients, rolled up his sleeves, and asked softly, "Looks like we're going to be making a lot of pastries today?"

Aunt Li knew that Jiang Nuanzhu had a little hobby of making pastries, so she didn't stop him. She smiled and said, "The old man is thinking about Mr. Fu next door, so he specifically asked me to make more."

Jiang Nuanzhu smiled helplessly and said, "Grandpa is still hard on the outside but soft on the inside."

The two old men would quarrel with each other whenever they met, but they would always think of each other when they had something good.

After washing his hands, Jiang Nuanzhu put on gloves and began to pinch the pastry with his nimble fingers. In the blink of an eye, an exquisite and beautiful pear blossom pastry appeared.

Jiang Nuanzhu was holding a brush and putting a red mark on it. The bracelet on her hand shook, and the luster was sparkling.

Li Ma had sharp eyes and noticed it immediately.

"The bracelet on your hand is so beautiful. When did you buy it? I remember that you don't like wearing these kinds of jewelry, don't you?"

Jiang Nuanzhu lowered her eyes and glanced at the bracelet on her hand. Her cheeks flushed slightly, and she pretended to be calm and said, "I bought it yesterday."

Although Li Ma was old, she was not easy to fool. She smiled and said, "Bought it yesterday? Was it bought by my son-in-law?"

Jiang Nuanzhu turned her head slightly to avoid Li Ma's scorching gaze, "Yeah."

"The old man must be very happy to see that the uncle cares so much about you."

Jiang Nuanzhu responded lightly, with a gentle smile in her eyes.

In a short while, several rows of pastries were placed on the table.

There are pear blossom pastries, peach blossom pastries, jujube blossom pastries, daisy pastries... They are neatly arranged and look very beautiful.

The background outside the window is the falling white pear blossoms, and the faint pear fragrance wafts around the nose.

Jiang Nuanzhu glanced at the outer corridor and saw that the chess game between Xu Heyi and Old Man Jiang was coming to an end, so she took a plate of pastries and put them in the oven to bake.

About fifteen minutes later, the chess game outside ended.

Jiang Nuanzhu had finished making all the pastries and was just about to add some color.

Xu Heyi came in from outside, walked behind Jiang Nuanzhu, and said in a low voice, "How can I help you?"

Jiang Nuanzhu paused holding the pen, her brows curved, "Yes, really. Go wash your hands first."

After Xu Heyi washed his hands, Jiang Nuanzhu had already taken off her gloves and handed him the brush: "Just like these, dot a few stamens in the center."

"Is it that simple?"

Jiang Nuanzhu raised her eyebrows and smiled slightly, "Yes, it's that simple. Grandpa said that you and Grandpa Fu learned calligraphy. This little thing shouldn't be difficult for Mr. Xu, right?"

Xu Heyi chuckled and lowered his voice, "What did you call me?"

"Mr. Xu, is there something wrong?" Jiang Nuanzhu looked into his deep and narrow eyes and felt inexplicably nervous.

Xu Heyi curled his lips slightly, "There's nothing wrong with it, it sounds pretty good."

A faint pink crept up Jiang Nuanzhu's cheeks. She pressed the brush into Xu Heyi's hand and said, "I'll go see if the first batch is done."

Xu Heyi looked at her fleeing back, and the smile in his eyes became more intense.

Jiang Nuanzhu brought out a plate of pastries wearing thick gloves, and the rich aroma spread throughout the kitchen.

After changing into a pair of gloves, Jiang Nuanzhu carefully arranged the pastries on two plates.

When she turned around, she saw Xu Heyi standing in front of the desk in a black shirt, writing steadily, his back as straight as a mountain pine.

The cuffs were unbuttoned and rolled up to the elbows, revealing well-defined arms, broad shoulders and a narrow waist. The profile of her face was superior, and she had a bewitching beauty.

Jiang Nuanzhu couldn't help but take a few more glances. Xu Heyi just put down his pen and turned around to meet Jiang Nuanzhu's straightforward gaze.

Being caught peeking, Jiang Nuanzhu was nervous, but she kept a calm expression on her face: "It's freshly baked. Do you want to try it?"
