Chapter 138 The Curse of Immortality

After the soul entered the body, the corpse, which had begun to rot, regained its vitality at a speed visible to the naked eye.

After Ming Fei opened her eyes, the first thing she did was to hold the broken sword tightly in her arms with both hands, as if she was worried that it would be stolen.

She would keep holding the broken sword like this until she figured out where the power that wanted to snatch her body came from.

Thirty-five saw her movements and uttered a word in Yan Muhuai's mind, "Six."

Yan Muhuai knew this would happen and did not comment on it.

Ming Fei climbed up from Luo Han's arms, put the broken sword back into the box, and then quickly hugged it with both hands.

Because her soul had just left her body, Fu Yu's body had become somewhat rotten. She had used up a lot of her spiritual power, and now she had no more to repair the missing parts of the broken sword. What was placed in the box was the remaining part of the sword, which looked like a few pieces of scrap metal.

But Ming Fei himself regards it as a treasure.

"Fuyu!" Luo Han saw Ming Fei come back to life. She slowly sat up straight, ignoring the pain in her body, and hugged her tightly. Her voice was choked with sobs, "It's so good to still see you."

Ming Fei was holding the box, Luo Han was holding Ming Fei, and both of them were sitting on the ground. This scene of reunion after a long separation should have been very warm, but their postures were really funny.

"Well, it's almost done." Ming Fei gently pushed Luo Han's shoulder with her fingers.

After letting go, Luo Han raised his hand to wipe away his tears, "I'm sorry, did I scare you?"

Ming Fei laughed. "Shouldn't I be the one saying this? I just came back to life in your arms. Weren't you scared?"

Seeing Ming Fei smile, Luo Han also burst into laughter. "Resurrection is a good thing. I'm so happy, how could I be scared?"

Everyone could see that Luo Han was very happy at the moment, but Ming Fei still told the truth, "I'm not Fu Yu."

"You are." Luo Han's smile froze for a moment, but his tone was extremely firm.

"I really am not." Ming Fei emphasized again.

"You really are..."

Rong Jin couldn't stand it any longer and interrupted the two people's three-year-old conversation, "Let's go out first and don't let the people outside worry."

Just looking at the way Luo Han ran over holding Fu Yu’s body, one can imagine how anxious the people outside who didn’t know the truth were.

Ming Fei stood up and pulled Luo Han up as well, but the latter grabbed her hand and wouldn't let go.

She remained calm, but used great strength to free her hand. Then she looked at Rong Jin and said, "Boss, you and Mr. Yan should go out first. I'll go find the village chief."

"I'll go with you." Luo Han wanted to hold Ming Fei's hand, but the latter dodged him directly.

Yan Muhuai pretended not to notice their little movements, "You don't have to look for him, we'll just wait here for a while, he's already on his way."

Ming Fei still believed in Yan Muhuai's words, so she stood there motionless. Luo Han now focused all his attention on Ming Fei. It didn't matter where he was, as long as Ming Fei was there.

"I'm telling you again, I'm not Fu Yu, don't touch me." Knowing that Fu Yu's obsession was all on Luo Han after his death, Ming Fei couldn't say anything harsh to her. What's more, she was still using Fu Yu's body, so she really couldn't do something like destroying the bridge after crossing it.

Luo Han just smiled and didn't argue with Ming Fei, but he also didn't listen to her.

Not long after, a villager was seen slowly approaching with a bald, white-haired old man.

The old man was leaning on a cane, his body hunched, and his whole body gave people a feeling of oldness and decay, like half of an old tree stump that would never die.

"The Immortality Mantra?" When Yan Muhuai saw the old man, he immediately understood the reason for his immortality.

Yan Muhuai was also certain that he was the murderer who poisoned everyone in the Fu family and broke into the secret room.

The old Taoist priests who sealed the broken sword back then were not very powerful. They must have used up all their life's knowledge to seal the broken sword. The immortality spell did not have much effect when used in the seal. This is why the murderer broke into the secret room but did not release the sword spirit of the broken sword directly.

Although the murderer failed to release the broken sword, he was hit by the immortality curse and has lived to this day.

Rong Jin was puzzled, "What is the Longevity Curse?"

"Yes, Mr. Yan, you have achieved immortality, so how can it be considered a curse?" Ming Fei didn't understand either.

Yan Muhuai explained with a hint of sarcasm, "Many people mistakenly believe that immortality is a great blessing, but immortality doesn't mean eternal age. The human body has an end. Even steel decays over time, let alone the human body. Look at him, he's estimated to be around 120 or 130 years old. Besides being alive, is there anything about him that you would envy?"

With pale and sparse hair and a shriveled and dry body, he cannot run and jump like young people. If he gets bumped even slightly, he feels several times more uncomfortable than others. His body parts are like dilapidated machines that will fall apart with a slight shake.

Isn't it a curse to live in such a state?

After hearing Yan Muhuai's words, the three people who didn't know about the Eternal Life Curse suddenly felt that this curse was indeed a bit scary.

Rather than becoming old like the other person, it is better to die at the age when you should die. Living is just suffering.

"Are you Fu Yu?" The old man stopped about a meter away from the others. His eyes swept from Yan Muhuai and Rong Jin to Ming Fei. "You're still alive?"

Shock flashed in the village chief's narrowed eyes.

His reaction was relatively calm. The villager who was supporting him was so scared when he saw Ming Fei that he let go of the old man and took several steps back.

"Ghost, village chief, is she a ghost? Wasn't she sent to the house two years ago? How could she still be alive..." The villager became more and more frightened as he spoke. When he stepped back, he slipped on the stones under his feet and fell to the ground.
