Chapter 132 You Still Have Me

Xiao Xin choked up and suddenly stopped eating his noodles.

Tears streamed down my face like a waterfall.

He put his chopsticks in the bowl, then immediately grabbed a few tissues from the table and covered his face to stop himself from crying out loud.

He cried in a suppressed manner, occasionally letting out intermittent sobs.

Seeing that his shoulders were shaking from crying, Mo Xuan immediately stopped smiling.

He stopped eating his noodles, sat down next to Xiao Xin, and patted him on the shoulder to comfort him: "You're not thinking about Fu Yan, are you?"

"Ugh...shut up." Xiao Xin choked back tears, put her feet on the sofa, hugged her calves, and curled up in a defensive posture.

His face was buried in his knees, and his shoulders continued to tremble.

His crying left Mo Xuan feeling somewhat at a loss.

He had never seen anyone cry in front of him before, and he didn't know how to comfort them.

Seeing Xiao Xin crying so sadly, he couldn't help but comfort her: "Xiao Xin, don't give up the whole forest for a single green leaf. I told you he would give you up for Jiang Yuqing. Even if Fu Yan doesn't want you, you still have me..."

As soon as he said that, Xiao Xin cried even louder, "He didn't abandon me, no, it wasn't his fault, it was mine..."

Mo Xuan got excited when he heard him say that.

He leaned close to Xiao Xin's ear and asked, "You're not going to hang yourself on Fu Yan's tree, are you?"

Xiao Xin was so confused from crying that she didn't want to talk to Mo Xuan and buried her head in her arms and continued to cry.

Mo Xuan didn't know what to say, so he simply shut up, got up and took a bottle of red wine from the cabinet.

He opened the bottle, poured a glass of wine into it, and handed it to Xiao Xin: "Want some?"

Xiao Xin looked up, stared at the red liquid in the glass for a second, then reached out, took it, and gulped it down in one go.

Mo Xuan sat down next to him and poured himself a glass of wine.

The two of them downed the entire bottle of wine as if it were water.

After an unknown amount of time, Xiao Xin felt very dizzy.

He lay on his side on the sofa, hugging a pillow and sobbing softly.

This amount of wine was just enough to make Mo Xuan slightly tipsy, because he had been drinking in business circles for many years and was immune to alcohol.

He looked at Xiao Xin's flushed face on the sofa and felt a slight pang in his heart.

Do you love her that much?

Mo Xuan lay on the sofa, staring blankly at the dazzling chandelier above him for a moment, then softly called out, "Xiao Xin?"

Xiao Xin ignored him.

Two minutes later, the sound of even breathing came from the living room.

Mo Xuan leaned over and took a look, only to find that Xiao Xin had already fallen asleep.

He stood up, shook his head, stretched his back, then bent down, picked Xiao Xin up horizontally, and carried her upstairs to the second floor.

Xiao Xin woke up the next day with a dull ache in his head.

He held his head and propped himself up to sit up in bed.

The unfamiliar room made him feel a little uncomfortable, but the hangover headache from drinking was still very clear.

He glanced at the gray-toned house and inexplicably felt that the room's color scheme mirrored his mood—very gloomy.

Xiao Xin had just gotten up when she caught a glimpse of her phone on the bedside table.

He picked up his phone and checked the time; it was already noon.

Xiao Xin then remembered that she had been drinking with Mo Xuan yesterday because she was in a bad mood.

He was stunned for a moment when Mo Xuan's call came in.

Xiao Xin pressed the answer button and answered, "Hello?"

Mo Xuan had just returned to his office after a meeting when he heard his deep, hoarse voice. Leaning back in his chair, he chuckled, "How did it feel?"

Xiao Xin felt a chill run down her spine from his laughter, and pinched her brow as she asked, "How does it feel?"

Mo Xuan continued his ambiguous joke: "Yeah, you drank so much yesterday, you were completely passed out, what could you possibly feel?"

Xiao Xin pulled open his pajamas and looked at himself; he remembered that he had been wearing a bathrobe yesterday.

Who changed these pajamas? The answer is obvious.

However, he felt nothing and there were no special marks on his body.

Xiao Xin mimicked his ambiguous tone: "Pretty bad."

Mo Xuan was completely bewildered. He scratched the back of his head and asked, "What's so bad?"

Xiao Xin got up and went downstairs, not wanting to banter with him anymore, and changed the subject: "Why didn't you wake me up today?"

He has been absent from work for two days.

"Seeing that you're in a bad mood, I'll grant you two days off. Take a good rest today," Mo Xuan replied.

Xiao Xin went downstairs, picked up a water glass and poured herself a glass of warm water, "Yesterday..."

Mo Xuan knew what he wanted to ask and smiled, "Nothing happened yesterday. I'm not interested in corpses. I just carried you upstairs to sleep."

The secretary who came to get Mo Xuan's signature blushed upon hearing his words, as if she had discovered some earth-shattering secret.

Is there something going on with Mr. Mo in her family?

Xiao Xin took a sip of water and said thank you to the person on the other end of the phone.

Mo Xuan frowned: "Saying thank you again is annoying. I'm tired of hearing it."

Xiao Xin didn't answer; the silence on both ends of the phone was eerily quiet.

After signing the document, Mo Xuan gave his secretary a wink, signaling her to leave quickly.

The secretary winked at him, gave him an "OK" sign, and turned to leave.

Mo Xuan leaned back in his chair, twirling the pen in his hand, and suddenly said, "If you really want to thank me, hurry up and get back to work. The company is waiting for you to make money."

Xiao Xin replied, "Okay."

Mo Xuan put down his pen, got up and walked out, putting his phone to his ear: "It's lunchtime, remember to eat."

Xiao Xin found him a bit long-winded and replied perfunctorily, "That's all, you go ahead and get busy."

He hung up the phone after he finished speaking.

Mo Xuan listened to the busy tone on the phone, paused at the door, looked at the disconnected call screen, and shook his head with a helpless smile.

After hanging up the phone, the empty living room fell silent.
