Chapter 134 Misunderstanding

Xiao Xin wiped the glass shards off the phone screen before putting it in her bag, thinking she would get a new one when she had time.

He had just finished cleaning up the mess on the floor when Bai Xiyan stood at the door and called out to him, "Kid, come and eat."

Xiao Xin turned around, said hello to her, and got up to walk towards the restaurant.

At the dinner table, Xiao Xin looked at the five dishes and soup that looked and smelled delicious, and asked Bai Xiyan, "Auntie, are there enough dishes for the two of us?"

Bai Xiyan placed a bowl and chopsticks in front of him and said with a smile, "I'm in a good mood today, so I specially made two extra dishes. If we can't finish them, we can leave them for Xiao Xuan. It's okay."

Xiao Xin could only nod with a forced smile, without saying anything more.

Bai Xiyan kept piling food into his bowl, urging, "You're so thin, hurry up and try Auntie's cooking. I specially took a class to learn how to cook, because Xiao Xuan used to always complain about my cooking."

Xiao Xin picked up a piece of pork rib, tasted it, and praised, "Thank you, Auntie, it tastes great."

Bai Xiyan said he was thin, and Xiao Xin didn't refute it. It's mainly because he looks thin, but he actually has some meat on his body.

Seeing that he was enjoying his meal, Bai Xiyan smiled and chatted with Xiao Xin while eating.

However, it was only her talking, and Xiao Xin just nodded in agreement.

Later, during his conversation with Bai Xiyan, Xiao Xin learned some things about Bai Xiyan.

Although she married into a wealthy family, unlike other rich wives, Bai Xiyan only wanted to be a virtuous wife and loving mother, and cooking was one of her joys.

Halfway through the conversation, Bai Xiyan suddenly asked, "By the way, child, I haven't asked you your name yet."

Xiao Xin looked up at her and said politely, "Auntie, my name is Xiao Xin, you can just call me Xiao Xin."

Bai Xiyan smiled and said, "Okay, Xinxin, are you and my Xiaoxuan dating?"

Xiao Xin choked on her words and almost spat out her food.

He covered his mouth, trying his best to suppress the impulse so as not to lose control.

Seeing that his neck was turning red, Bai Xiyan quickly poured him a glass of water and handed it to him.

Xiao Xin took the water and drank a sip.

Bai Xiyan patted his back to help him catch his breath, "Oh dear, child, how can a simple question make you so agitated? Don't worry, I'm not the kind of wicked mother-in-law in TV dramas. I won't stop my son from having a free love relationship."

Xiao Xin waved to her and said, "Thank you, Auntie, I'm fine now."

Bai Xiyan then sat back down in her seat.

Xiao Xin took a breath and looked at her, saying, "Auntie, please don't misunderstand, Mr. Mo and I have nothing going on..."

Bai Xiyan bit her chopsticks, stared at Xiao Xin for two seconds in a daze, and then said, "Actually, it's not my fault for misunderstanding. It's just that it's the first time I've seen Xiao Xuan bring a friend home to stay overnight..."

“And…” she looked at Xiao Xin, hesitating to speak.

Xiao Xin followed up with her question, "And what?"

Bai Xiyan smiled and said, "Besides, you're the type my Xiaoxuan likes."

Xiao Xin stared at her blankly for a moment, then buried his head and continued eating.

Fearing she might misunderstand, Xiao Xin ate a couple of bites of rice and then said, "Auntie, I have someone I like. I believe Mo will eventually meet someone better."

Bai Xiyan narrowed her eyes and smiled slightly. It seemed her son was in unrequited love...

However, there is no wall that cannot be pried open.

It seems she needs to help her son.

Bai Xiyan picked up some food, a faint smile playing on her lips: "So, is Xin Xin with the person she likes?"

Xiao Xin didn't answer her, but felt it would be impolite not to, so she changed the subject.

He looked up, met Bai Xiyan's eyes, and asked, "Does Auntie know how to make desserts?"

Bai Xiyan met Xiao Xin's affectionate eyes and momentarily forgot what she had just asked.

She paused for a second, then nodded: "Yes, I'm best at making desserts."

Xiao Xin smiled and said, "Then when I have time another day, I'll ask you for some lessons, Auntie."

Bai Xiyan was struck in the heart by his harmless smile, and said with a smile, "Okay, okay, haha, there's no time like the present, let's do it today?"

Xiao Xin nodded, "Okay, Auntie, please eat first."

Bai Xiyan nodded and said okay. She had just picked up her chopsticks when she suddenly realized that she seemed to have forgotten something.

What did she just ask Xiao Xin again?

...

Xiao Xin spent the afternoon learning from Bai Xiyan. This time, with a teacher's guidance, Xiao Xin learned quite well.

Xiao Xin looked at the perfectly presented mango crepes on the plate, her eyebrows curving into a smile.

Bai Xiyan took a bite with her fork, gave him a thumbs up, and said, "Delicious."

Xiao Xin smiled and said, "Thank you. It's mainly because you teach so well, teacher."

Bai Xiyan was amused by him, "Haha, Xin Xin has such a sweet tongue."

She handed him a fork: "Want to try a bite yourself?"

Xiao Xin smiled and shook her head: "No need, Auntie, I'm allergic to mangoes."

Last time, Fu Yan let him try it, but luckily he spat it out in time because it tasted bad, thus avoiding an accident.

Bai Xiyan put down her fork and sighed, "That's such a pity, Xinxin won't be able to taste the delicious food she made."

Xiao Xin smiled, pursing his lips, neither confirming nor denying. He looked at the desserts on the plate, his thoughts drifting back to someone…

If Fu Yan were to eat the desserts he made, she would surely smile happily, right?

Bai Xiyan noticed the love in his eyes and asked with a smile, "This dessert is for someone you like, right?"

Xiao Xin nodded: "Yes, he really likes to eat mangoes."

Looking at the happiness overflowing in his eyes, Bai Xiyan suddenly realized that helping her son steal her boyfriend was a mistake.

She patted Xiao Xin on the shoulder, and while taking off her apron, said, "Alright, Auntie won't bother you any longer. I have something to do, so I'll be going now."

Bai Xiyan said this and walked towards the door.

Xiao Xin carried her bag and saw her to the door.

Bai Xiyan changed her shoes, took the bag from Xiao Xin, and said, "Thank you, Xin Xin. I'll leave here. Auntie will be going now."

Xiao Xin waved to her and watched her walk into the elevator before closing the door.

The large living room fell silent again. Xiao Xin turned and walked towards the kitchen, preparing to finish cooking the remaining ingredients.

...

When Mo Xuan returned home that evening, the entire living room was dark, except for the kitchen where the light was still on.

He changed his shoes and walked towards the kitchen in the dark.

Xiao Xin was so engrossed in her own world that she didn't even notice Mo Xuan had entered.

While he wasn't paying attention, Mo Xuan reached out and grabbed a mango crepe, stuffing it into his mouth in one bite.

Xiao Xin was startled by him, turned around and frowned when she saw his puffed-out cheeks: "Are you alright?"

After Mo Xuan finished chewing and swallowed what was in his mouth, he suddenly slapped Xiao Xin on the shoulder, "I didn't know you could make desserts?"

Xiao Xin lowered her eyes and smiled: "I would do it for the person I like."

Mo Xuan took another one and popped it into his mouth, showing off: "Delicious, not bad, I love it, make more."

Just as he was about to take the third one, Xiao Xin immediately tapped the back of his hand with her spoon, saying, "Eat less, this isn't for you."

Mo Xuan stopped chewing and suddenly remembered that Fu Yan loved to eat mangoes.

He pointed to the dessert and asked, "This isn't for Fu Yan, is it?"
