Chapter 14 He's really good at enduring things.

As the slap landed, an eerie silence instantly descended upon the surroundings.

Everyone in the private room held their breath, focusing their attention on Fu Yan and the man, not daring to utter a sound...

Xiao Xin blinked, surprised that the man was actually the young master's father.

A red mark immediately appeared on Fu Yan's face.

He turned his face to the side, and Xiao Xin could see him clearly, but he couldn't detect any pain on Fu Yan's face.

Fu Yan kept his head down the whole time, without even frowning.

Xiao Xin couldn't help but click her tongue twice; her face was so red, it looked painful.

As soon as he spoke, everyone's gaze shifted to Xiao Xin.

Xiao Xin's breath hitched. She glanced at them in surprise, her gaze finally settling on Fu Yan's eyes.

Fu Yan looked at him with a deep, complex gaze, as if warning Xiao Xin to stop talking.

Xiao Xin was bewildered, but was still intimidated by those deep pupils. She pursed her lips and remained silent.

Fu Yan's gaze lingered on Xiao Xin's face for only a second before turning to the man: "Dad, that was just an accident, not what you think."

Fu Qingting clenched his fists, as if suppressing his anger, and turned to the bespectacled man next to him, saying, "Qiao Chen, clear the area."

Qiao Chen smiled and nodded to the man: "Okay, Mr. Fu."

Fu Qingting seemed dissatisfied with his form of address and said reproachfully, "You don't need to call me that so formally in private."

Qiao Chen smiled again: "Okay, Uncle."

Xiao Xin looked at the man called "Qiao Chen" and found that he was also sizing her up.

Qiao Chen smiled and glanced at Xiao Xin from head to toe, then beckoned to the two waiters beside him: "You two, come here."

Then, pointing to Xiao Xin on the ground, he said, "Take him away."

Qiao Chen's smile was laced with malice, and Xiao Xin felt a chill creep into her heart, her whole body feeling a stinging discomfort.

He was leaning on the coffee table with one hand, trying to stand up from the ground, when the rabbit servant lifted both his arms up.

Feeling dizzy from sitting on the ground for so long, Xiao Xin stumbled as she stood up and almost fell to the ground again.

Fortunately, the rabbit servant managed to steady him in time, preventing him from falling to his knees a second time.

The aisle between the coffee table and the sofa was fairly spacious. When the rabbit-like male servant carried him past Fu Yan, Xiao Xin couldn't help but glance at him.

But Fu Yan kept his eyes down and didn't even glance at him.

Xiao Xin cursed under his breath. After all that fuss, Fu Yan still wouldn't return the necklace to him.

However, he had used up most of his strength in the struggle with Fu Yan, so he definitely couldn't fight three people at once now.

Xiao Xin could only accept his bad luck and let the rabbit servant help him walk out.

Just as I reached the door, a loud bang suddenly came from behind me.

"Thump—"

Xiao Xin subconsciously turned around and saw Fu Yan kneeling with his head bowed in front of Fu Qingting, his body half-bent over.

Qiao Chen stood behind Fu Qingting, a strange smile playing on his lips, looking at him in a chilling way.

But he still tried to persuade him, saying, "Uncle, today is my cousin's birthday, you..."

Fu Qingting snorted expressionlessly: "Does he even deserve to celebrate his birthday?"

The pale light shone on Fu Yan, who had been as arrogant as a lion just moments before, but now resembled a tamed cat, head bowed and silent.

Xiao Xin glanced at it indifferently; it was none of his business...

But the next second, Fu Qingting grabbed Fu Yan's hair and slapped Fu Yan across the face again.

"Smack!"

"You bastard! Do you even know how much business the Fu Group has lost with the Jiang family because of you?!"

Xiao Xin frowned, feeling inexplicably sad.

Damn it, how could they treat that face like that...

The private room was dimly lit, and it was clear that none of the three people were paying attention to him.

He stopped abruptly and whispered to the two rabbit servants, "You two go out first and close the door behind you."

The rabbit servant hesitated for a moment, then looked panicked: "But, you..."

Xiao Xin put her index finger to her lips and whispered, "If you don't want to lose your job, then leave me alone..."

The rabbit servant looked troubled, but after thinking for a moment, he felt that Xiao Xin's words made sense. They nodded, let go of Xiao Xin, went out, and then quietly closed the door.

Xiao Xin crept into the dark and hid behind the sofa next to the door. He leaned against the sofa, took a deep breath, and listened quietly to the movements of the three people behind the sofa.

"Dad, I will find Yuqing as soon as possible and give the Jiang family an explanation."

It was Fu Yan's voice.

Fu Qingting plopped down on the sofa, his face grim, and pulled a cigarette from his pocket, putting it between his lips.

Qiao Chen sat next to him and thoughtfully took out a lighter to light his cigarette.

"Yes, Uncle, please give my cousin some more time. After all, a grown man has been missing for so long, it's impossible to find him so easily..."

Fu Qingting took a drag of his cigarette and sneered, "Hmph, I've already given him two years!"

As he spoke, he kicked an empty wine bottle next to him: "Look at him, since returning to the country, he's been hiding at Yu Muqing's place every day, drinking alone and hanging out with a bunch of shady characters. Does he look like he's looking for someone?"

Qiao Chen put away the lighter, adjusted his glasses, and looked troubled: "This..."

"..."

Fu Yan knelt silently, his expression indifferent. The bruises on his wrists started to itch again, and he couldn't help but scratch them gently.

Seeing that he didn't speak, Fu Qingting's hand, pointing at Fu Yan's nose, trembled slightly, and the veins on his forehead bulged: "You unfilial son, look at your cousin, he's only a few months younger than you, and he can already manage a company..."

"Look at yourself again..." he said, kicking Fu Yan again.

"You don't study properly, and the company doesn't care about you. You're like a good-for-nothing all day long. If your cousin hadn't told me you were celebrating your birthday here, I wouldn't know what kind of mess you'd become if I hadn't come to see you today..."

Fu Yan kept his lips tightly closed, enduring Fu Qingting's anger with a blank expression, while his fingers, which were digging into the bruises, exerted even more force.

Qiao Chen chuckled, "Not at all, I still have a lot to learn from my uncle."

Xiao Xin couldn't help but curl the corners of her lips. Qiao Chen's words sounded rather sarcastic.

He looked through the sofa at Fu Yan, who was kneeling quietly on the floor. He hadn't expected the kid to be so patient, not saying a word.

If it were him, he would definitely have his head twisted by that bespectacled kid.

Fu Qingting finished his cigarette, threw it on the ground and stomped it out. He looked at Fu Yan, who remained silent, with undisguised disgust in his eyes.

He picked up a wine glass from the table, splashed wine all over Fu Yan's face, and angrily cursed, "You good-for-nothing who only knows how to leave a mess! Don't come back to the Fu family until you find the person. The Fu family can't afford to lose face like you!"

As he spoke, he stood up, kicked a nearby wine bottle, and strode toward the door.

As soon as he opened the door, Yu Muqing was standing there. When she saw Fu Qingting, her panicked expression vanished in an instant.

He greeted Fu Qingting with a smile: "Aunt, Uncle, why didn't you say you were coming?"

Fu Qingting snorted coldly, glanced at him, and left.

As soon as Qiao Chen stepped out, he met Yu Muqing's eyes and smiled, "Brother Qing..."

The moment Yu Muqing saw him, she frowned slightly and instantly understood what had happened.

He glared at Qiao Chen with annoyance, bumped into Qiao Chen's shoulder as he passed by, and muttered under his breath, "Bad luck."
