Chapter 177 Lying

The caregiver nodded blankly, handed him the fruit plate, said "okay," and got up to walk towards the bathroom.

As Xiao Xin watched him enter the bathroom, she quickly reached for the fruit knife and discreetly placed it under the bed.

When the caregiver returned, she saw him eating fruit as if nothing had happened, and handed him a damp towel: "Sir, here you go."

Xiao Xin nodded and thanked him, then reached out to take the wet towel.

The caregiver didn't say anything, just sat quietly to the side and watched him.

Xiao Xin wiped her mouth with a damp towel and handed him the half-eaten fruit plate: "I want to rest."

The caregiver understood, took the towel and fruit plate, and got up to get the fruit knife from the bedside table.

"Where's my knife?" He looked around frantically, searching for the fruit knife, and pointed to the bedside table, asking Xiao Xin, "Sir, have you seen the knife here?"

Xiao Xin shook her head, lifted the covers, and lay down with her back to him. "No."

"That's strange." The caregiver scratched his ear, shook his head, and left the ward.

...

Xiao Xin slept until six o'clock in the evening. In her drowsy state, she smelled a familiar scent.

The man's warm lips slowly moved down from his eyes, carrying a chill, and domineeringly covered his lips. The faint scent of sandalwood mixed with the man's masculine hormones, wantonly and arrogantly plundering his breath, almost suffocating him.

"Hmm..."

Xiao Xin suddenly realized that someone was kissing him...

He tried to open his eyes, but his eyelids felt as heavy as a thousand pounds, and he couldn't open them no matter what he did.

After a dizzying spin, my mind became foggy and disoriented.

Xiao Xin's face turned bright red from the kisses, and Fu Yan only released him when he was almost out of breath.

Fu Yan leaned close to his ear, his teeth grinding lightly and heavily against the tip of his reddened ear: "Brother, I miss you so much."

"Brother, do you miss me...?"

Xiao Xin weakly pushed away the person who was half-pressing on him, and mumbled indistinctly, "I want... He Yunzhou."

"Fine." Fu Yan chuckled, not annoyed at all.

He propped himself up and walked to the coffee table by the window. "I just brought a gift for my brother. I'm sure he'll like it."

Xiao Xin had a bad feeling and subconsciously looked at the coffee table.

On the coffee table sat a square black sandalwood box. Fu Yan picked up the box, looked up and saw Xiao Xin's terrified eyes, and smiled, "Didn't you want to see He Yunzhou, brother? I brought him to see you."

Xiao Xin: "..."

Fu Yan, holding the box, slowly approached Xiao Xin.

"You, don't come any closer..." Xiao Xin trembled all over, retreating to the other side of the bed, subconsciously reaching for the fruit knife under the bed.

The moment my fingers touched the cold hilt of the knife, my heart couldn't help but feel a chill.

"Didn't you want to see him?" Fu Yan's lips curled into a faint, cold smile, devoid of warmth, sinister and chilling.

He placed the urn beside the bed, looked up at Xiao Xin, and asked, "So what are you afraid of now, brother?"

Xiao Xin gripped the knife hilt tightly, her eyes filled with despair as she looked at Fu Yan.

Fu Yan glanced down at the urn, then looked at Xiao Xin and said calmly, "Tell me, wouldn't it be more exciting if I did *you* in front of him?"

Xiao Xin's eyes were slightly red as she glared at him angrily: "You madman!"

Fu Yan loosened his tie with one hand, a nonchalant smile on his face: "Hmm, scold me more, I love to hear it."

Xiao Xin: "..."

Fu Yan took off his coat and knelt on one knee by the bed. Xiao Xin immediately pulled out a knife from beside the bed and pointed it at him: "Get out."

Fu Yan's smile froze instantly, his eyes turning icy cold.

He glanced down at the knife and immediately stopped smiling. "You're willing to point a knife at me for He Yunzhou, huh?"

Xiao Xin took the knife, got off the bed, and quickly walked to the door. He frantically shook the doorknob, but couldn't open it no matter what he did.

Fu Yan stood by the bed, coldly watching him. "It seems that you've recovered well, brother. You can even walk now."

After saying that, he walked around the bed and headed towards Xiao Xin.

Xiao Xin looked at him helplessly, his whole body trembling, and pointed the knife at him again.

Fu Yan stopped a meter away from him and sneered, "I'll ask you one last time, will you choose He Yunzhou or me?"

"Fu Yan, can you please stop going crazy?" Xiao Xin tried her best to remain calm.

Upon hearing this, Fu Yan grabbed his wrist and with a slight force, the knife fell to the ground instantly, making a crisp sound as it collided with the floor.

Xiao Xin's taut nerves snapped the moment the knife hit the ground.

Everything around seemed to slow down at that moment, and no sound could be heard.

Fu Yan didn't give him a chance to be distracted, and grabbed Xiao Xin around the waist, throwing him back onto the bed.

He grabbed Xiao Xin's chin, looked him into the eyes: "I'll ask you one more time, choose..."

“He Yunzhou.” Xiao Xin looked directly at him, hot tears sliding down her cheeks.

Fu Yan felt as if something had suddenly gripped his heart, causing him excruciating pain.

He buried his head in Xiao Xin's neck, trying to make a final struggle: "No, brother is lying, you clearly love me, why..."

“I have never loved you, Fu Yan.” Xiao Xin said calmly, tears streaming down her face even more fiercely: “I have always loved He Yunzhou.”

"I approached you only to find out the truth about He Yunzhou's death."

Fu Yan felt a sudden emptiness, her grip on him froze, and it felt as if all the blood in her body was flowing backward.

So, is it true that Jiang Yuqing said Xiao Xin approached him for He Yunzhou's sake?

"I don't believe it. My brother loves me, not him. You're lying to me. Let's stop arguing, okay? Just stay by my side, okay?"

Fu Yan hugged Xiao Xin tightly, his whole body trembling. "Let's live together like before, okay, brother?"

He hugged her so tightly that Xiao Xin had the illusion that she might be crushed at any moment.
