Chapter 180 Kidnapping

Xiao Xin looked at her, her eyes suddenly reddening, her gaze growing colder. "You called me here just for money?"

Wang Lili scoffed and blew a puff of smoke in his face. "What else is there to talk about besides money? Feelings?"

Xiao Xin clenched his fists at his sides, his shoulders trembling uncontrollably, as if he was trying his best to suppress his anger.

He turned his face away, wiped the moisture from the corner of his eyes, and then looked at Wang Lili again: "In these past twenty-odd years, have you ever felt even the slightest bit of guilt towards me and my father?"

His voice choked with emotion, and the room fell into a deathly silence. A man at the card table turned around and called out to Wang Lili, "Sister Lili, call us if you can't figure it out."

Wang Lili, with her back to the man, hummed in response. She pressed the cigarette butt against Xiao Xin's shoulder and said disdainfully, "What are you yelling about? So many years have passed, and you and your father are still alive and well. What's the value of guilt? Can it save your lives?"

Xiao Xin gritted her teeth in frustration, tears streaming silently down her face.

He blinked, his eyes still wet with tears, and a mocking smile suddenly appeared on his lips. "Never mind."

He knew he was asking a question he already knew the answer to, but he still insisted on seeing Wang Lili one last time, clinging to the hope that she would return.

Wang Lili had lost all feelings for him and Xiao Lin, and he no longer harbored any expectations of this nominal mother.

"I don't have a cell phone on me, let alone make a call."

Xiao Xin gave in, no longer wanting to make a futile struggle: "Kill me or torture me, it's up to you."

Anyway, he had already told Qiao Chen and Xiao Lin that if he didn't get to the airport in time, he would send Xiao Lin away first.

Wang Lili asked the person behind him impatiently, "Where's his phone?"

The man shook his head, looking bewildered.

Wang Lili cursed, "Useless trash, search him."

The man nodded and began to grope Xiao Xin's body.

A minute later, he stood up and said to Wang Lili, "Report, Sister Li, he doesn't have a cell phone on him."

Wang Lili glanced at the suitcase by the door, gave the man a look, and then looked up at Xiao Xin and asked, "Where are you and your dad planning to go?"

Xiao Xin didn't speak, his eyes were empty, as if he hadn't heard Wang Lili speak.

The suitcase was opened, and the clothes inside were scattered on the ground. The man found nothing and was ridiculed by Wang Lili again.

Having no other option, Wang Lili had Xiao Xin tied to a chair.

Xiao Xin remained quiet throughout, like a puppet, without making a sound.

Wang Lili sat opposite him, squinting as she looked him over: "What's Fu Yan's phone number?"

Xiao Xin pursed her lips and lowered her eyes, remaining silent.

Wang Lili remained in this stalemate with him for five minutes before finally running out of patience.

She walked up to Xiao Xin and couldn't help but raise her hand and slap him hard across the face.

With a "snap," Xiao Xin turned his head, a metallic taste rising in his mouth.

The card table fell silent for two seconds after Wang Lili's slap.

Wang Lili seemed unsatisfied and slapped Xiao Xin hard across the face again.

A group of people who were playing cards saw this scene and all of them blew lewd whistles. One of them even shouted, "No wonder she's Sister Lily. She can even do this to her own son."

Wang Lili chuckled and lifted Xiao Xin's chin: "Tell me, what's your phone number?"

Xiao Xin's fair face was slapped until it turned bright red. Her cheeks burned with pain, her head was spinning, and she had no strength left to think.

He was breathing weakly, as if Wang Lili had beaten him to the point of near death.

Wang Lili grabbed his hair, forcing him to raise his head, and asked again, "Will you talk or not?"

Xiao Xin's bloodshot lips curled into a faint smile. "I...don't know."

Wang Lili angrily flung his hair away and turned to sit back in her chair.

Seeing Wang Lili's troubled expression, someone used an iron rod to prop up the back of Xiao Xin's head and asked Wang Lili, "Sister Li, this kid seems a bit off, should we crack his skull open to clear his head?"

Wang Lili lit another cigarette, glanced at the man, and said, "Get out of here."

The man sheepishly withdrew his hand. "Yes."

Wang Lili took a drag of her cigarette to calm herself down when her phone suddenly rang twice.

She looked at her phone for two seconds. It was a text message from a familiar number—the caption read: Fu Yan's phone number, followed by a string of numbers.

She raised her eyelids, looked at Xiao Xin and chuckled, then dialed the number sent in the text message.

At the shareholders' meeting, while the audience was passionately sharing their opinions, Fu Yan sat in the center of the stage, his eyelids drooping, looking completely distracted.

Yu Muqing sat down next to him, crossed her arms, and glanced at him. "Didn't you sleep well last night?"

Fu Yan: "I didn't sleep last night."

After Qiao Chen left, he was left to handle everything personally. He's been working overtime non-stop these past few days and hasn't had time to sleep.

Yu Muqing gave a slight smile, but didn't say anything more.

Fu Yan's phone vibrated at that moment. It was his private phone number, and not many people knew it.

Fu Yan glanced at it, saw it was an unfamiliar number, and ignored it.

The person on the other end of the phone seemed to be in a hurry, as their phone kept vibrating.

Fu Yan picked up his phone and impatiently put it on silent. He hadn't turned it off because he was afraid of getting a call from the hospital.

At this time, he was unaware that Xiao Xin had been discharged from the hospital, and even less aware that his bodyguard had been replaced by Qiao Chen.

Wang Lili made five calls, but the other party did not answer.

She frowned, looked up and saw Xiao Xin, and an idea came to her. She took a picture of Xiao Xin tied up and sent it to him.

The phone screen lit up again. Fu Yan frowned, picked up the phone, and glanced at it impatiently.

Upon seeing Xiao Xin tied to a chair in the photo, his brows furrowed even more, and he suddenly jumped up from his seat, startling Yu Muqing, who was speaking next to him.

Yu Muqing asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"
