The little girl stared wide-eyed at their clasped hands, her face filled with disbelief: "Xin, Brother Xin, you two..."
Xiao Xin looked at Fu Yan in confusion: "???"
He tried his best to shake off Fu Yan's hand that was tightly gripping him, but Fu Yan's hand was like chewing gum, and he couldn't shake it off no matter what he did.
As the crowd grew larger and larger in public, more and more people gathered around to watch the spectacle.
Xiao Xin could clearly feel the gazes focused on the two of them.
Xiao Xin gritted her teeth and glared at Fu Yan with hatred: "Let go."
Seeing that his face was red, Fu Yan said softly, "Brother, my hands are cold, yours are warm, let me warm them up..."
His tone was pitiful; if Xiao Xin refused, he would seem like the villain.
The nurse was taken aback when she saw him calling Xiao Xin so intimately: "Brother?"
She glanced at Fu Yan with a puzzled look, feeling that he looked somewhat familiar.
Xiao Xin rubbed his forehead and explained, "No, I have nothing to do with him."
Fu Yan frowned: "Brother, you didn't say that in bed last night."
Xiao Xin's vision went black, his brain racing. What had he said last night?
The nurse's gaze toward the two of them grew increasingly strange, a mixture of ambiguity and surprise.
Before Xiao Xin could explain, more and more people gathered around to watch the spectacle.
Unable to bear the stares any longer, Xiao Xin roared, "What are you looking at? Haven't you ever seen two men holding hands before?"
His shout immediately caused the crowd to scatter.
Xiao Xin grabbed Fu Yan's hand and glared at him resentfully: "And you, come with me."
As he spoke, he took Fu Yan's hand and led her towards the hospital's back garden.
The young nurse watched their retreating figures, scratched her head, and went back to the registration machine to teach the group of elderly people how to register.
After passing through a narrow and short corridor, the view suddenly becomes bright and open.
Fu Yan narrowed his eyes, looked down at Xiao Xin, and asked, "Brother, what do you want to tell me?"
Seeing that no one was around, Xiao Xin raised their clasped hands and said coldly, "Let go."
Seeing Xiao Xin's furious expression, Fu Yan slowly released him.
Is it so embarrassing to hold hands with him?
I clearly said this morning that I liked him and called him my puppy.
Xiao Xin glanced at the black beret on Fu Yan's head and the visible scratches on his face, and his clenched fist involuntarily loosened.
If Fu Yan hadn't been injured because of him, Xiao Xin would have definitely punched him twice and slapped him a few times.
He sighed and rubbed his forehead, then looked up at Fu Yan and asked, "Do you know what you were just doing?"
Fu Yan nodded without hesitation and said, "Brother, don't be angry, I just don't like that woman..."
"So you're using me as a shield?" Xiao Xin's voice trembled with anger, and she felt like she couldn't catch her breath.
Fu Yan shook his head: "I don't like her being so close to you."
The only person who could be that close to Xiao Xin is him.
Xiao Xin's eyes darkened: "What business is it of yours whether she's close to me or not?"
Fu Yan pulled his hand out of his trench coat pocket, grabbed Xiao Xin's hand, looked into Xiao Xin's eyes and said, "I feel uncomfortable with her being so close to you."
Xiao Xin: "?"
He wondered what business it was of his whether Fu Yan felt comfortable or not.
He was so angry he almost fainted. Fu Yan couldn't understand him, and he felt like he was about to lose his ability to understand Fu Yan as well.
Xiao Xin was furious and cursed, "You're crazy."
He shook off Fu Yan's hand, but Fu Yan wouldn't let go. He looked at him and said, "Brother, don't call me crazy, call me a little dog."
Xiao Xin: "..."
He was speechless. This person had lost his memory and became like an alien, unable to understand the language of Earthlings.
Xiao Xin's hands were red from struggling, and Fu Yan's abnormal behavior made him want to cry.
Xiao Xin cried out inwardly, "Why isn't anyone here to save me?"
"Xiao Xin?" A weak voice came from behind Xiao Xin.
Xiao Xin turned her head and saw that the caregiver was pushing Xiao Lin through the narrow corridor.
Xiao Xin paused in her struggle and called out to Xiao Lin, "Dad?"
Xiao Lin sat in a wheelchair, his thin face bearing the gentle marks of time. Although he was getting on in years, his features still revealed that he had been quite handsome in his youth.
He looked at Xiao Xin, nodded, and smiled, "You've been away from your father for so long, are you very busy with work?"
Xiao Xin glanced at his legs; one of his trouser legs had been cut to the top, and his thigh was wrapped in bandages, with faint traces of blood on the bandages.
Xiao Xin felt a pang in her heart, her eyes welled up with tears, and they swirled in her eyes.
Fu Yan quickly noticed the tears in his eyes and, thinking he had hurt Xiao Xin, released his grip on Xiao Xin's hand.
Xiao Xin squatted down beside Xiao Lin's legs, ignoring Fu Yan's expression. Looking at the injury on Xiao Lin's leg, tears immediately streamed down her face.
He wiped away his tears, gently stroking the blood-soaked gauze with his fingertips: "Dad, I'm sorry for only coming to see you now."
Xiao Lin shook his head and rubbed Xiao Xin's head: "Silly child, why are you crying? I'm just happy that you came to see your father. Don't cry."
Xiao Xin stubbornly wiped her face with the back of her hand: "Dad, I didn't cry, it's just that my eyes couldn't be controlled."
He is prone to incontinence and sometimes really can't control his tears, especially when he feels wronged.
Seeing him cry so sadly, Fu Yan felt a pang in his heart, and a sense of unease settled over him.
But he couldn't seem to find any reason to comfort Xiao Xin, so he could only stand quietly to the side and watch.
Xiao Lin then noticed Fu Yan standing next to him, looked up and asked with a smile, "And who is this?"
He felt that Fu Yan looked familiar, but he wasn't sure.
"Is that Xiao He?"
Fu Yan frowned. Who is Xiao He?
Xiao Xin gave the caregiver a look, and after the caregiver left, she quickly took Xiao Lin's hand and explained, "It's not Dad, it's Xiao Yan."
