Xiao Xin glanced at Fu Yan indifferently, then looked behind him.
A group of people stood about ten meters away from them, glancing at them out of the corner of their eyes, their ears pressed to their mouths, whispering among themselves.
Xiao Xin really wanted to tell Fu Yan that they weren't afraid of him, but of him.
But before she could say it, Xiao Xin said, "It's okay, don't worry about them."
After saying that, he entered the elevator.
Fu Yan gave them a strange look and then followed them into the elevator.
With no one in the elevator, the scrutinizing gazes that had been fixed on Fu Yan vanished instantly, and he felt much calmer.
Xiao Xin led him to the office on the third floor and knocked on the door.
When the manager opened the door and saw Xiao Xin, a look of surprise appeared on his face, but when he saw Fu Yan, the smile on his lips froze.
He pulled Xiao Xin's arm away from Fu Yan before whispering in his ear, "Why did you bring him here?"
Fu Yan stood at the door, watching the two whispering to each other, but dared not rush forward to disturb them.
He recognized the person who was talking to Xiao Xin; the one who had tried to break up the fight in the hospital room last time and helped him hold Yu Muqing back.
Xiao Xin glanced at Fu Yan, then asked the manager, "Can't he come?"
The manager panicked, his face scrunched up: "No, the problem is that General Manager Yu isn't here right now. We can't let him hear us discussing things, can we?"
Xiao Xin hesitated for a moment, then suggested, "How about we let him have a room to himself?"
The manager's brow remained furrowed, and he grew even more anxious, pointing at Fu Yan and saying, "Aren't you afraid he'll run away and cause trouble?"
Xiao Xin pursed her lips and chuckled, "He's as well-behaved as a puppy now, he won't cause any trouble."
The manager broke out in a cold sweat from his words and exclaimed in surprise, "Xiao Xin, you...you mean Young Master Fu is...?"
Xiao Xin smiled faintly and beckoned to Fu Yan: "Little dog, come here."
When Fu Yan saw Xiao Xin calling him, he was slightly taken aback. After realizing what was happening, he smiled and jogged over to Xiao Xin.
Xiao Xin sat on the manager's desk, grabbed a handful of sunflower seeds, and pointed at Fu Yan while cracking them open: "See, isn't he happy that I call him that?"
The manager looked at Fu Yan's faint smile and the glint in his dark eyes, but still felt a chill in his heart.
He gave Fu Yan an awkward laugh, then turned to Xiao Xin and said, "Let Young Master Fu stay in the office for now, we'll go outside..."
"Is there anything I can't hear?" Fu Yan interrupted him with a frown, looking displeased.
Startled by his outburst, the manager's heart skipped a beat, and he looked away from Fu Yan, stammering, "Um, no, Young Master Fu, that's not what I meant..."
The manager's voice grew weaker and weaker, and his head bowed lower and lower.
It was so low that Fu Yan could only see the back of his head.
Fu Yan put on a smile and turned to look at Xiao Xin: "Brother, I'll listen to you."
Fu Yan smiled like a peacock spreading its tail. If Fu Yan had a tail, Xiao Xin would probably have seen Fu Yan wagging its tail wildly.
The manager's jaw dropped in shock, but Fu Yan glared back down after only a second.
Xiao Xin beckoned to him, and Fu Yan immediately moved closer.
Seeing how well-behaved he was, Xiao Xin patted his head twice and pointed to the sofa not far away, saying to Fu Yan, "Good boy, go sit on that sofa over there. I have something to discuss with the manager, and I'll come back to find you when I'm done."
Fu Yan, carrying the British-style backpack that Xiao Xin had just bought for him, turned around and walked to the sofa, where he sat down.
He picked up the teacup on the table, poured himself a cup of tea, and while drinking it, he noticed that Xiao Xin and the manager were looking at him with surprise. He smiled at Xiao Xin and said, "Brother, I'm fine, don't worry. If you have something to say, just talk to me first."
Xiao Xin put down the sunflower seeds in his hand, jumped off the desk, and tilted his head at the manager: "Let's go outside?"
The manager recovered from his surprise and nodded blankly at Xiao Xin twice: "Um, um..."
Fu Yan glanced at the two figures as they left, then took out the tablet Xiao Xin had just bought for him from his bag and started playing with it.
As the manager walked to the door and turned to close it, he glanced uncertainly at the person sitting on the sofa.
He gently closed the door, pointed inside, and whispered, "Is this... really Young Master Fu?"
He could hardly believe it.
There's an unreal feeling, like I'm dreaming.
Xiao Xin nodded lightly, put his hands in his pockets, turned and walked into the corridor. He pushed open the door of an empty private room not far away and called out to the manager, "Shall we talk in the room?"
The manager snapped out of his shock, strode over to Xiao Xin, grabbed his wrist, and led him to another room: "There are security cameras in there, let's go next door."
Xiao Xin didn't refute, and followed the manager into the next room.
He sat down on the sofa, and the manager poured him a cup of tea and placed it in front of him before sitting down next to him.
The manager looked at Xiao Xin with concern: "Xiao Xin, what's wrong with Young Master Fu?"
Xiao Xin picked up her teacup, took a sip, and raised an eyebrow at the manager: "Based on what you just saw."
The manager frowned, anxiously grabbing Xiao Xin's forearm, looking troubled: "No, what I mean is why does he only listen to you?"
Xiao Xin put down her teacup and shook her head: "I don't know..."
Then he pointed to his head and said, "Maybe my brain is damaged."
manager:"……"
Seeing that he didn't speak, Xiao Xin voiced her doubts: "So, given his current situation, are we still going to continue with the contract we signed before?"
Fu Yan has lost his memory, so continuing might not be appropriate. The main problem is that Xiao Xin has already received the deposit...
He can't repay that much money in a short time.
Hearing Xiao Xin's words, the manager gave him a shove on the shoulder in exasperation: "Continue! Why don't you continue?"
Xiao Xin glanced at him: "?"
