Chapter 46 He Has a Boyfriend

Xiao Xin broke free from Fu Yan's embrace and gave Yu Muqing an awkward smile: "How could that be..."

Fu Yan pulled Xiao Xin's arm and pulled her behind him, looking at Yu Muqing: "Why are you here again?"

Yu Muqing's smile froze, and she raised an eyebrow: "Again?"

Xiao Xin, with her sharp eyes, noticed the clenched fist at Yu Muqing's side, grabbed Fu Yan's arm and shook it, then whispered, "What are you talking about? That's your brother!"

Seeing his panicked expression and the way he didn't dare to breathe, Fu Yan asked coldly, "Are you afraid of him?"

Yu Muqing pursed her lips, anger spreading in her eyes.

To avoid unnecessary conflict, Xiao Xin pushed aside Fu Yan, who was blocking her way, and glared at him fiercely: "From now on, shut up."

Fu Yan was about to retort when Xiao Xin gave him a look that said, "Try opening your mouth again."

Fu Yan had no choice but to shut up and obediently retreat behind Xiao Xin.

Xiao Xin then walked over to Yu Muqing with a sense of relief and pointed to the sofa next to him: "President Yu, please sit down first. Don't take it personally with a child."

"A kid in his twenties?"

Yu Muqing sat down on the sofa with a sarcastic tone and no expression.

As Xiao Xin poured tea for Yu Muqing, he said, "He's out of his mind, don't bother with him."

Fu Yan, standing not far behind the two: "..."

Yu Muqing took the teacup Xiao Xin handed her, took a sip, and said, "How come I never realized this brat was so infuriating before..."

Xiao Xin chuckled but didn't reply.

Seeing his magnanimity, Yu Muqing couldn't help but wonder, "You used to tell me to be stricter with him, so why are you being so lenient with him today?"

Xiao Xin was taken aback. He was about to say that Fu Yan had damaged his brain, but then he realized that wouldn't be the right way to put it, so he changed his words to, "He injured his head..."

Yu Muqing understood what he meant and didn't go too far into the subject.

He placed the car keys and a brown paper document bag on the coffee table and pushed it to Xiao Xin across from him.

"These are Fu Yan's car keys, and also an apartment I bought for him in a neighborhood next to University A. The document bag contains the property certificate and Fu Yan's admission documents. He'll be discharged from the hospital in a couple of days, and once he's feeling a bit better, you can send him to University A."

After Yu Muqing finished speaking in one breath, Xiao Xin thought for a moment, looked at the things on the coffee table, and murmured, "University A?"

Yu Muqing gave a soft hum, put down her teacup, and looked at Xiao Xin: "I heard you used to be at A University, so you should be very familiar with it, right?"

Xiao Xin lowered his head, rested his hands on his knees, clasped them together, and nodded sullenly: "Okay, I'll take him to school then."

Yu Muqing nodded in relief, got up and was about to leave when she seemed to remember something and asked Xiao Xin, "Didn't you say you had something to do this morning? Why haven't you left yet?"

Xiao Xin was taken aback. Hearing Yu Muqing ask him this, he looked up and pointed at Fu Yan, saying, "He wants to come with me, but without your permission, I'm afraid..."

Yu Muqing realized that Fu Yan must have been pestering Xiao Xin to take him out, which led to the scene of opening the door just now.

He nodded and said, "Okay, let him go with you. From now on, you can make all the decisions for him. It seems that this kid only listens to you."

Xiao Xin sensed a hint of sadness in his tone and comforted him, "President Yu, don't say that. You're the best brother to him..."

Fu Yan is truly blessed but doesn't realize it, having such a good brother as Yu Muqing.

Unlike him, it seems he has never truly possessed anything in his life.

Yu Muqing didn't say anything, put one hand in her pocket, got up and walked out the door.

Fu Yan watched as Yu Muqing left before walking towards Xiao Xin on the sofa.

Seeing Xiao Xin's listless appearance, he assumed that Yu Muqing had bullied Xiao Xin and couldn't help but ask, "Brother, did he bully you?"

Xiao Xin lowered her eyes and shook her head: "No."

Fu Yan didn't believe him and asked again, "Then why do you look unhappy?"

Xiao Xin then raised her head and gave him a cold glare: "Do I need to wear my happiness on my sleeve?"

Fu Yan realized he had asked the wrong question and wisely kept quiet.

He didn't know what Yu Muqing had said that made Xiao Xin so sullen, but he was certain that Yu Muqing hadn't said anything nice.

Xiao Xin was unhappy, and Fu Yan was naturally not happy either.

But he didn't dare to anger Xiao Xin. He did whatever Xiao Xin asked him to do without asking a single unnecessary question.

He was afraid that if he asked too many questions, Xiao Xin would become even more annoyed.

The two changed into casual clothes and went to the parking lot.

With two bodyguards following behind, Xiao Xin felt uncomfortable, as did Fu Yan.

Xiao Xin glanced at the two bodyguards and said to them, "You don't need to come with me. I'll take him and be back soon."

The bodyguard hesitated for a moment, nodded, and turned to leave.

Xiao Xin tossed the keys in his hand to Fu Yan and pointed to a Maybach not far away: "It's your car, you drive it."

Fu Yan looked at the keys in his hand, then at the Maybach not far away, and silently walked up to Xiao Xin: "Brother, I can't drive."

Xiao Xin glanced at him indifferently, took the car keys from his hand, opened the passenger door, and pushed Fu Yan into the car.

Xiao Xin kept a cold face the whole time, while Fu Yan sat properly in his seat without saying a word.

“Seatbelt,” Xiao Xin said.

After dawdling for a while, Fu Yan finally managed to fasten his seatbelt.

Xiao Xin watched him sit down, then floored the gas pedal and sped off.

Actually, he wasn't very good at driving, but after serving as his boss's driver for free during his working period, he learned how to drive.

Throughout the journey, the atmosphere in the carriage was oppressive and somber; no one spoke first.

Fu Yan looked out the car window at the unfamiliar scenery and felt completely lost.
