Chapter 17 Violet "You fucking bought the wrong size."...

When Wen Siyu drove out of the courtyard, many people on the first floor saw him. When he came back, he went through the underground parking garage and went directly from the second basement level to the third floor.

Some people got drunk and, thinking he wasn't there, became less restrained and started talking recklessly, indulging in their witty remarks under the influence of alcohol.

In the center of the living room on the first floor, a few people were drinking and chatting. The loudest one was Liang Wei, a typical spoiled brat. He was known in the circle for his sharp tongue and even more so for his rudeness. Usually, no one would invite him to a gathering, but he could always find his way there on his own.

He was probably so drunk he didn't know his place. Someone next to him said something, and he yelled back, "He only won because his dad's name is Wen Qinsheng. Otherwise, what does this house have to do with him? And who knows if he's even Wen Qinsheng's son?"

People around him turned to look, and after hearing this, they moved a few steps to the side, and no one dared to speak to him.

Liang Wei hooked his arm around the shoulder of the person next to him, holding a bottle of liquor in his hand, and used the bottle to chill the person's face. "What the hell are you hiding for? Is there something wrong with what I said? Do you even know who the hell he is?"

"Young Master Liang, please don't... I..."

He then shouted to the other side, "Wasn't tonight supposed to be Ji Jiazhen's birthday party? Where is she? Does a washed-up celebrity need to be invited out?"

A girl standing at the outermost edge of the living room suddenly slipped, and a glass fell to the ground and shattered. The noise was quite loud and attracted everyone's attention, including Liang Wei.

"I'm... I'm sorry..."

The crowd's gaze shifted from the shards of glass on the ground to her panicked and helpless face, then gradually rose to look behind her, where they saw Wen Siyu standing quietly behind her, expressionless.

He held his phone in front of his chest with one hand, and a cigarette was held between his other hand, which hung by his side. The smoke rose and spread around him.

No one knows when he returned, nor does anyone notice when he stood there.

Liang Wei loosened his grip, pushed away the person he had just been hugging, then shook his hands twice, looked at Wen Siyu, and smiled indifferently.

The girl in front of Wen Siyu realized something was wrong, turned around and saw Wen Siyu looking down, his finger on his phone screen, clicking send, then putting his phone in his pocket, and looking up in Liang Wei's direction.

Those standing between them made way for him, and Liang Wei greeted him as if nothing had happened, "Brother, where have you been? Why didn't you call me to come with you?"

Wen Siyu walked towards him, flicked the ash off his cigarette with his index finger, stood in front of him, and stubbed out his cigarette on the water-drenched bottle. Liang Wei's thumb touched the edge, burning his hand and causing him to pull it back, muttering "Damn it."

"Don't be a coward, weren't you quite the talker just now?"

Liang Wei put the bottle on the table. "My buddy's had too much to drink. Please understand. He'll definitely black out tomorrow and won't remember what he said."

The change happened in an instant; a girl was so frightened by the sudden movement that she screamed.

Wen Siyu struck with lightning speed and force, punching Liang Wei squarely in the cheek. Liang Wei was thrown onto the sofa, struggling to get up before spitting out a mouthful of bloody saliva.

"You have blackouts, right? I'll help you retain some memories."

*

When Ji Jiazhen came out of the bathroom, her phone on the sofa was vibrating; it was a call from Zhuang Yan.

She remembered that Zhuang Yan had also called her last night, but she hadn't answered.

There's no particular reason; I just simply don't want to answer.

She lacks patience with men she's slept with, since they have nothing to offer her beyond their first time. Some are good-looking but useless, mediocre in their abilities, and rely entirely on her initiative. Sleeping with them is like eating a bland dish, and afterwards, she can't even find anything to reminisce about.

Zhuang Yan was somewhere in between these two types of people. Her night with him was unremarkable. If it were anyone else, she would have said the next morning that she didn't want to see them again. But Zhuang Yan was still useful to her, so she had to maintain a good relationship.

Her half-dry hair hung down in front of her chest, a drop of water staining her collar with a dark mark. She bent down and answered the call.

"Happy birthday, Jiazhen."

Ji Jiazhen sat cross-legged on the bed. "Thank you."

"Have you been busy these past few days?"

"A little."

That's a lie.

"Are you home? I'm at your door and want to give you this gift in person."

"I've been busy with work these past few days and I'm not in City A. Wait for me to come back."

It's still a lie.

Zhuang Yan didn't doubt a word and said a few caring words, asking her if her cold was better and if she was tired from work. Ji Jiazhen gave a perfunctory reply.

I received a WeChat message from Wen Siyu less than two minutes after hanging up the phone.

"Have you eaten dinner?"

Ji Jiazhen hadn't felt hungry at first, but after being reminded like that, she did feel that her stomach was quite empty.

She didn't reply to the WeChat message. Before leaving the house, she picked out a coat from Wen Siyu's wardrobe and put it on. When the elevator reached the first floor and the door opened, she frowned.

Have they all left?

As she exited the elevator, she heard a noise on her right. After walking around a wall, she could see what was happening there: a crowd of people gathered there, making a racket.

She immediately spotted Fang Chengmu standing at the very back. This idiot was standing on a chair, looking into the middle of the living room.

As she drew closer, Ji Jiazhen heard the sounds of people trying to break up the fight. She stood next to Fang Chengmu and used the gaps between the figures to get a clearer view of the scene in the center.

Wen Siyu was beating someone relentlessly, each blow harder than the last. There was blood on his fists, but it was unclear whether it was his or the other person's.

Fang Chengmu suddenly noticed her, jumped off the chair, and was about to speak when he heard Ji Jiazhen's question.

"What's going on?"

He pointed inside and said, "The one who got beaten up is called Liang Wei. He's a disgusting guy. He came uninvited tonight and said some things he shouldn't have, which Young Master Wen overheard."

Ji Jiazhen looked at Wen Siyu's tense profile and asked, "What did he say?"

Fang Chengmu curled his lips, "It's like saying he's a bastard, saying he doesn't know who Wen Siyu's mother is, cursing his mother several times. Wen Siyu hates it when people curse his mother in front of him, and this time they even cursed him directly in the face."

"And then they started fighting?"

Fang Chengmu looked around a few times, stammered, and finally whispered in Ji Jiazhen's ear, "Wen Siyu's mother... has passed away."

Ji Jiazhen clenched his fist in his coat pocket, then released it and slowly pulled it out.

"Oh right, this person also said you're a washed-up female celebrity."

Liang Wei was no longer as arrogant as before. He was now so badly beaten that he could barely lift an arm. But Wen Siyu was clearly still not satisfied and had no intention of letting him go. Every punch he threw was delivered with full force.

If this continues, something bad will happen.

Ji Jiazhen patted Fang Chengmu on the shoulder, "Tell these people to get lost. You leave last and take that beast who got beaten to the hospital."

No sooner had she finished speaking than she spotted someone filming ahead. She pushed through several people's shoulders before rushing in, snatched the phone, deleted the video, threw it back, and yelled at the others, "Delete all the videos and photos you took!"

The dispute was started by Liang Wei, and the person who hit her was Wen Siyu, but it did indeed happen at her birthday party. If it gets out, it will be bad for her reputation, and the video and photos absolutely cannot be kept.

Fang Chengmu proved to be reliable at crucial moments. He sent everyone outside and, along with Wen Siyu and his two buddies, checked each person's phone one by one, releasing them after each check.

There were only three people left in the living room.

Ji Jiazhen stood there, his gaze fixed on the bloodstains on Wen Siyu's joints.

“Wen Siyu”.

...

"Wen Siyu!"

She raised her voice, and Wen Siyu finally looked up at her, his fist hovering in the air.

"Stop hitting him."

His eyes were like a burning, cold flame, fueled by his intense anger, crackling and popping as it burned.

Ji Jiazhen didn't need to say anything more to persuade him; she simply stared at him for a long time, waiting for him to calm down.

Slowly, he loosened Liang Wei's collar and lowered his clenched fist. Only then did Ji Jiazhen walk to his side, glancing outside. A third of the people had left, and no one was paying attention to them.

She reached out and gently stroked Wen Siyu's chin twice, then whispered to him, "Go to the side."

Wen Siyu stared into her eyes, said nothing, and obediently did as she said, sitting down on the sofa on the other side.

Liang Wei's face was a gruesome sight, covered in thick blood. Ji Jiazhen frowned in disgust, searched the ground but couldn't find a suitable tool, and finally gave up, turning around and kicking Liang Wei in the thigh.

Liang Wei was kicked quite hard, his leg twitched in pain, and he hissed.

It's alright, he can still make a sound, he's still breathing.

Ji Jiazhen glanced at him and said condescendingly, "Your great-aunt is currently very popular. Even if you die, my father will never be forgotten."

Wen Siyu sat there, elbows against his knees, his hand wiping away blood paused for a moment, but he couldn't help but chuckle.

Then he glared at me and said, "What are you laughing at?"

Liang Wei was eventually lifted into a car and taken to the hospital by Fang Chengmu and two other people. Ji Jiazhen stayed behind and watched Wen Siyu wash his hands while she leaned against the wall.

The blood on his hands was Liang Wei's, but it was a bare-handed, head-on collision. Liang Wei's face was badly injured, and his hands weren't completely unscathed either; there were several cuts on his joints. He acted as if he had no pain receptors, letting the running water wash over his wounds.

Wen Siyu looked at her in the mirror, lowered his eyes and said, "I'm sorry for ruining your birthday."

Ji Jiazhen crossed his arms and rested his forehead against the wall.

"Talking about it without sincerity is not enough."

"What do you want?"

She smiled, but her eyes gleamed with calculation. "Give me Wang Qiao in return."

Wen Siyu didn't even look up. "It's not that easy."

The sound of water stopped, and she watched Wen Siyu wiping his hands, then said, "I'm hungry."

So the two of them sat down at the table nonchalantly amidst the mess, and ate noodles as usual. Ji Jiazhen was initially picky, but Wen Siyu casually remarked that all she could do was cook noodles, effectively shutting down her choice.

She sat there watching him, her chin resting on her hand. Her hair was completely dry, her skin was fair, her lips were pale, and she was still beautiful even without makeup.

"It's not that easy, it's just that difficult."

He countered with, "What's your impression of Li Zhuorong?"

Ji Jiazhen didn't understand why he suddenly brought up Li Zhuorong.

"I don't remember seeing it; I've only seen it online."

Wen Siyu propped himself up on his arms and looked at her. "I want you to take over everything she has now and take away everything she might get. I will help you."

"Do you have a grudge against her?"

Do you know who's behind her?

"Wei Yikai."

He shook his head, his smile carrying a mocking tone.

Ji Jiazhen became curious and asked him, "No?"

"more than."

...

"The one she really relied on was surnamed Wen."

Besides Wen Siyu, the only other person with the surname Wen is...

Wen Qinsheng.

“When I was born, my mother had a difficult childbirth. While she was being treated in the hospital, Wen Qinsheng was having sex with someone in bed.”

Telling Wen Siyu these things to her was like reopening old wounds. He didn't go on to say more, but Ji Jiazhen could guess that his mother probably didn't make it back then, and the person who was having an affair with his father was probably Li Zhuorong.

This circle, going around and around, really is a circle.

Her throat tightened for a moment; she wanted to say something, but didn't know what to say.

Wen Siyu changed the subject first, his gaze falling on her as he asked, "Aren't you hot?"

His coat was a bit too big for her, hanging loosely, with the zipper pulled up to her chest and the sleeves caught in the crook of her arms.

"It's hot."

"It's hot, why are you wearing a jacket?"

She glanced down at her chest, then lifted her eyelids to look at him; the upward curve of her eyes indicated that they were always smiling.

"I'm not wearing a bra, I'm afraid you'll see my nipples."

Wen Siyu's gaze gradually slid down her body, from her face to her neck to her chest. After kissing and hugging her, things were different. Now her eyes didn't dodge and her face wasn't red anymore.

"I bought it for you."

Ji Jiazhen threw cherry tomatoes from the fruit plate at him.

"You fucking bought the wrong size."

She didn't know what he was thinking, but after he finished speaking, he stared at her for two seconds, then looked down and turned his face away. She saw him smiling, and then she saw something even more amusing.

His ears turned red at a speed visible to the naked eye.
