Chapter 63 Violet Butter...

Chapter 63 Violet Butter...

The news that Ji Jiazhen and Wen Siyu have gotten back together has spread widely among their friends. The most common joke at drinking parties is that the two of them love to go back to their exes, and there has even been a competition to see who loves to go back to their exes more.

Of course, no conclusion was reached, because Ji Jiazhen had countless exes, but had only ever been with this one, while Wen Siyu had no romantic history and had only ever been with her.

The entertainment industry was completely unaware of this, because the two of them basically had no contact except when they went back to the same house and slept in the same bed at night.

Ji Jiazhen was still very playful. She was busy filming during the day and went to parties one after another at night, drinking every drop of alcohol she was supposed to. Wen Siyu didn't really go with her. He would only go for a couple of drinks if the host of the party specifically invited him. Otherwise, he would only show up in the early hours of the morning to pick up the drunk Ji Jiazhen and take her home in his car.

He intended for Ji Jiazhen to have a good time, but he didn't expect her to go overboard. After hearing that she had a five-minute passionate kiss with a minor singer who was mostly female fans after getting drunk, Wen Siyu started sticking to her side. She knew her limits when it came to alcohol, so he didn't try to persuade her to drink less or say anything disciplinary. What he did most often was take advantage of her in her dazed state to verbally provoke her into calling him "husband" and saying how much he loved him.

There was no real enjoyment, but it satisfied his vanity.

It's fair to say that Chi Chia-Chen is blessed with natural beauty. Despite her irregular sleep schedule, including staying up late and drinking, her face hasn't aged a bit. She's shot five magazine covers, becoming the first artist to unlock solo covers for all three major magazines in January—the prestige of which speaks for itself. Her fashion sense remains as strong as ever, and with the added prestige of an international film queen, her aura is even more powerful.

Besides her work, she also accomplished something significant.

—I signed with a new company.

This matter undoubtedly became a trending topic, with everyone wondering why Ji Jiazhen would sign with a little-known company, "Huayao Pictures," a name that had hardly ever appeared in the public eye.

The answer is easy to find with a simple search: the small company that holds the film and television rights to "Sacrifice" probably planned to sign Ji Jiazhen in advance. Now that the work and the actor have mutually benefited each other, Ji Jiazhen is naturally willing to sign him.

But the reality is not that complicated.

Huayao Pictures was acquired last year by Wen Siyu to pave the way for her. In the past year, they have bought a lot of excellent scripts and film and television rights, but they haven't signed any artists. Now that Ji Jiazhen has joined, she is essentially her own boss, which is no different from setting up her own studio.

Before we knew it, the year was drawing to a close. The sky was filled with endless dark clouds, and there was no sign of snow in City A this year. However, the cold wind was still biting, just like last winter.

It was two days before the New Year. Ji Jiazhen had just finished work on set when her assistant rushed over with her phone, saying, "Sister, you're trending again."

It's common for her to trend on social media, so there's nothing surprising about it. Her assistant's reaction is clearly abnormal.

Ji Jiazhen didn't ask any questions and took the phone to look at it herself. It wasn't anything big; she'd just been photographed drinking the day before yesterday, and the photo had been posted online. Nothing unusual. The only problem was that Wen Siyu's profile was vaguely visible in the photo. Nobody knew they'd gotten back together, so everyone assumed it was Ke Xian, and the trending topics were all about whether Ke Xian had successfully won her heart.

Seeing a smile playing on her lips after she finished reading, the assistant whispered a reminder: "President Wen is waiting for you outside..."

Ji Jiazhen subconsciously looked towards the door, and Wen Siyu, who hadn't been there for a while, happened to arrive, leaning against the door and beckoning to her.

She kept her eyes on him, handed her phone back to her assistant, took her bag from the assistant's shoulder, then walked over to Wen Siyu, hung the bag around his neck, and completely used him as a human clothes hanger.

He had a mint in his mouth, and when he took her hand, he crushed the candy. The strong mint flavor instantly filled his mouth, with a slightly bitter taste and a refreshing coolness.

"Don't come out of the car in the future, or you'll easily get photographed."

Wen Siyu didn't say anything, but held her tighter, his lips pressed into a straight line, the bitterness on his tongue still lingering. He didn't respond to her words until they got into the car.

After fastening her seatbelt, Ji Jiazhen glanced at his profile; he clearly looked angry. She reached out, hooked her fingers under his chin, and turned his face towards her.

"What's with the tantrum?"

He was silent for a few seconds, then pressed a button on his side, causing the seatbelt to snap back with a "click." He leaned to his right, grabbed Ji Jiazhen by the back of the neck, and kissed her, not forgetting to bite her as he finished.

She hadn't removed her makeup from the shoot, and now her lipstick was smudged and her lips were covered in red.

"The year is almost over."

Ji Jiazhen took out a wet wipe and wiped her lips in front of the mirror, then asked him what was wrong.

"I'll take you somewhere."

*

After an eight-hour flight and a 30-degree temperature difference, a year later, Ji Jiazhen was once again lured to that island by Wen Siyu.

She slept for a full eleven hours in the room. When she woke up, the bed next to her was empty. She put her arm across her eyes for a while to relax, and after fully waking up, she sat up and reached for her phone next to her pillow. Wen Siyu had sent her a WeChat message half an hour earlier:

Swimming pool.

After she finished reading, she threw her phone back, stepped barefoot onto the carpet, tied her hair into a loose ponytail, washed up, picked out a bikini to wear, looked at herself in the mirror from left to right, and finally decided to put her ponytail up high. With a juice in one hand and her phone in the other, she walked towards the pool with a croissant in her mouth.

Wen Siyu had probably already swum one lap, and his hair was almost dry by now. Half of his shoulder was sunburnt, and the water droplets on his collarbone were glistening. His fair skin and thin muscles were quite pleasing to the eye. Ji Jiazhen whistled at him, looking just like a hooligan.

Wen Siyu stared at her entire body as she walked over.

She was glowing white in the sun, with beautiful shoulder and neck lines, a slim waist and long legs. The burgundy bikini didn't look tacky on her at all; instead, it gave her a flamboyant sexiness.

She squatted down by the pool, put the juice and her phone on the ground, held a croissant between two fingers and offered it to Wen Siyu for him to bite into, while she took a sip of his half-finished iced cola.

After she finished her croissant, Wen Siyu opened his arms to her. Trusting him completely, she jumped down and clung to him, splashing water all over his face. She asked him, "Aren't you tired?"

Such a long flight is exhausting, but when he got to the room that night, he still had the energy to do things with her. He slept for only a few hours before swimming in the pool again.

Wen Siyu put one arm around her waist and whispered in her ear, "Are you enjoying it?"

"improvise."

Ji Jiazhen rested her forearm on his shoulder, gazing at the light blue sea in the distance. Wen Siyu was playing with the two thin straps behind her neck, wrapping one of them around his wrist.

She suddenly remembered something, turned around, picked up her phone, unlocked the screen, called his name, and kissed his lips before he could react.

The camera happened to capture this moment.

After taking the photo, she leaned back down and hugged his neck to check the pictures.

Wen Siyu tilted his head slightly and asked, "What are you doing?"

Ji Jiazhen didn't reply. He typed a line of text, then deleted it all, leaving only four words: Share picture.

In the photo, she is kissing Wen Siyu with her eyes closed, while he stares at her face, her swimsuit strap still wrapped around his wrist. Both of them are in profile, and what is most clearly visible is the tattoo between his collarbones.

The tattoo is distinctive enough that no one will be able to tell whether it's Ke Xian or Wen Siyu.

After sending the photos, Ji Jiazhen kissed him again and answered his previous question.

"I'll give you a title."

She knew, of course, why he was silent that day and what he was angry about, so she publicly acknowledged him in the most high-profile way possible, and also tried to appease him.

Wen Siyu tightened his grip on her, his arms trembling slightly. Ji Jiazhen could feel his excitement. She smiled and thought he was so easy to please.

Do you know what I was thinking when you came here?

She glanced at his profile, gently stirring the water with her hand. "What?"

"Thinking back to the first time I met you."

Ji Jiazhen recalled the scene from that night and suddenly became interested. She asked him to let her sit on the shore so she could listen to his story.

"What were you thinking when you first met me?"

Wen Siyu took a sip of the Coke can, squinted his eyes, and recalled every moment of the past.

The first time I saw her...

"I thought you looked really good in red."

Ji Jiazhen rested her chin on her hand, took three seconds to react, and suddenly realized something was wrong. She slapped him hard, leaving a fingerprint on his skin.

"Wen Siyu! I wasn't wearing red when I first met you!"

Wen Siyu looked up at her with a smile, his hand supporting him on her side, his eyes seemingly still recalling the events of the past.

"It's red."

Ji Jiazhen remembers it clearly; she wore a black dress that night, and she can even find photos of it.

"I was wearing black that day!"

"A red dress, short one."

In April, the sun shines brightly and the wind blows gently.

The cherry blossoms at school are blooming exceptionally beautifully this year. The trees are two stories high, with their top branches extending to the edge of the corridor. Two pink petals have fallen onto the railing.

Wen Siyu came out of the office, preparing to return to the classroom.

He walked along the stone path on the lawn, past the artificial lake, through the crabapple blossoms, sunlight filtering through the branches and casting dappled shadows on his white shirt.

He had one hand in his pocket, his head slightly lowered as he went up the stairs, his expression indifferent, and there seemed to be a patch of snow between his brows that couldn't be melted away.

The auditorium was rehearsing for the school's anniversary celebration at the end of April. Every day at noon, a group of students would skip class to peek in, their discussions mingling with the sounds of microphones and music.

Wen Siyu walked up to the second floor, his eyes casually sweeping over the pale pink weeping cherry blossoms.

As they got closer to the auditorium, the noise grew louder.

When the school bell rang, the students scattered. He walked to the half-open back door of the auditorium and heard a female voice coming from the stage below the steps.

"One day, I will sing to you in the morning light of another world..."

He glanced sideways, stopped in his tracks, turned away from the classroom, and leaned against the half-open door, searching for the source of the sound.

Finally, my gaze settled on a figure in a red dress.

Her skirt reached her knees, her hair was piled high to reveal her slender neck, and the spotlight shone on her. Her face and makeup were precocious and incongruous with her student status.

Beautiful, proud, and individualistic.

Her voice is so distinctive, clear yet slightly grainy, very refreshing, without any of the cloying sweetness that most young girls have.

"I used to be in the light of Earth."

In human love,

I've already seen you.

He leaned against the door, watching her raised arm and listening to her voice.

A gust of wind blew through the corridor, ruffling the hem of his shirt and the stray hairs by his ears.

He lowered his head and touched his nose, smelling a faint floral fragrance.

The wind seemed to be blowing something.

As people walked out of the auditorium, he grabbed a boy's arm, pointed at the figure from behind, and asked, "Who's that?"

The boy looked back, scratched his head, and seemed surprised that he didn't know the person's name.

"Ji Jiazhen from Class 7 of Senior Three."

This was their first meeting.

Author's Note: Hi~

When I started writing, I never imagined that the serialization would be so difficult. I even picked up the pen for the ending and put it down again. Fortunately, it was able to be considered to have ended smoothly.

Each story is a brand new adventure for me. I enjoy trying different styles and writing completely different characters and stories. "The Violent Butterfly" was a very difficult hurdle to overcome; it took a full six months to reach the end. The process was arduous, but I loved this adventure.

Ji Jiazhen is the most complex character I've ever written. She has a tough, strong exterior, but also a soft, vulnerable interior. She is beautiful, flamboyant, ambitious, competitive, and combative. She has the ability to turn the tide and will not be defeated by anything. However, she has also felt lost and helpless during her growth. Her courage and determination in dealing with all problems are what I think are her most charming qualities, and all of these stem from one core—loving herself.

Every female protagonist I've created so far possesses this core quality, and every one of my future characters will too. This is one of the reasons I decided to write—I hope every girl can truly learn to love herself.

Wen Siyu also has his own unique complexities. He comes from a wealthy family but is controlled by others. He seems to have everything, but everything is at risk of leaving him at any moment—money, status, and even Ji Jiazhen, whom he loved before falling in love with him. You probably didn't expect his unrequited love to begin so early, and he didn't expect it either. It was the car accident that made him truly realize that his feelings for Ji Jiazhen were actually love. Therefore, loving Ji Jiazhen was indeed his instinctive reaction; after all, he was willing to risk his life for her even before he realized he loved her. This is also part of the character's charm.

They broke up and got back together many times before finally coming together because they each had a different definition of "love".

Ji Jiazhen doesn't know how to love. She instinctively loves herself and can only love herself. No one taught her how to love others, so she used to play around in life, only talking about feelings but never about love.

Wen Siyu possessed the love of Meng Xu and Fang Wei, a love strong enough to withstand the trauma inflicted upon him by Wen Qinsheng. He knew how to love someone and understood the kind of love Ji Jiazhen needed.

Ji Jiazhen's love came later, and there was an element of loving without realizing it, which is why they separated several times. Wen Siyu started loving a few years earlier than Ji Jiazhen and understood better how to love with tolerance and steadfastness, so they were able to reconcile every time they separated.

I admire how they come to understand their own hearts through repeated separations, and I also admire how their love deepens with each reconciliation.

The bond of true love cannot be severed; that is absolutely true.

Thank you to everyone who has read this story, thank you for reading this far. The story itself is just a story, but you have given it a deeper meaning.

After completion, I will revise the entire text. The plot will remain unchanged; the main focus will be on optimizing details. I'm unsure about the update frequency for the side stories; it depends on my pace. You can read them whenever you feel like it, and I'll update them as I please. (It won't be too long though.)

I apologize to the readers who are waiting for "Cold Gun Rose." I originally planned to write that next, but I genuinely lack inspiration and the right writing style. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, my next story will likely be "Chen Jue's Reply," a free short story with a completely different style from this one.

Finally, in this vast and boundless world, we met because of a book and spent the four seasons together. This feeling is so cool! I hope to spend many more springs, summers, autumns, and winters with you all~

May everyone be brave, free, and find their own true love.

One day, I will sing to you in the morning light of another world:

I used to be in the light of Earth

In human love,

I've already seen you.
