Chapter 63: Adventure into the Mountains
Su Youli ran to the bed and called out to his elder brother, "Brother, Youyou wants to feed the chickens."
Chen Yan paused and thought to himself, I don’t have anything to feed you, son.
He rolled his eyes and said tentatively: "The chickens belong to Grandpa Tian's family. If you want to feed the chickens, you must get Grandpa Tian's consent."
His original intention was to train Youyou's social skills, but he never expected that the little guy turned around and ran away after knowing that he did not object to him feeding the chickens.
When Chen Yan changed his clothes, got up and ran to the door, he saw the three-headed little fellow already standing in front of the chicken coop. He reached into the food bowl with his little hand and poured it toward the chicken coop. Several hungry chickens gathered around and started to eat little by little.
And the fierce Grandpa Tian stood beside Su Youli with his hands behind his back, watching him feed the chickens.
It seemed that there was still a kind smile on his face, and his old and turbid eyes were emitting a loving light.
At this moment, Chen Yan fully realized how likable his Youyou was.
At 7:30 in the morning, Su Youli finished feeding the chickens, added water to the ducklings, and helped Grandpa Tian sweep the yard.
As soon as several photographers entered the door, the first thing they saw was the tall back of Master Su, who had been busy all morning.
Wow, the other three children haven’t even woken up yet, but Master Su has already done a lot of work.
Thanks to Su Youli, Chen Yan finally got to eat the food given by Grandpa Tian.
The most common millet porridge in farmers' homes is the kind that has rice oil cooked into it and is served with an egg.
Su Youli is not picky about food. He holds the egg in one hand and the spoon in the other.
During the meal break, he could still find some time to look up, his big eyes sparkling, and he mumbled, "Thank you, Grandpa."
The old man felt so happy when he heard the word "Grandpa" that he wanted to take out all the delicious food in the house for the little one.
After breakfast, Chen Yan took Su Youli to the gathering point - Grandma Zhang's drying dam.
Except for Mi Huan and Mile, the other two families probably did not get enough rest last night. The two adults looked very bad. Cen Yuankai was held by his father and refused to come down, and kept crying.
Today's recording content is relatively simple. The adults still have to help the elderly in the village harvest crops, while the children need to go on adventures in the mountains.
Su Youli's eyes lit up and he almost jumped up with excitement.
At half past eight, Chen Yan carried the little guy back to the room and packed his small bag with things he would need to go up the mountain.
Ten minutes later, everyone gathered and adults and children went their separate ways.
Su Youli was still a little worried, and looked up to remind his elder brother: "Brother, don't get lost today. If you get lost, remember to ask the photographer uncle."
Chen Yan suppressed his laughter and said that he understood and would definitely ask the photographer uncle if he got lost next time.
Four children came forward and received their mission cards. Their adventure mission was to go to the mountains to find six different kinds of mushrooms.
Every child received a camera to hang around their neck and wore a little red hat distributed by the program team.
Su Youli likes this little camera very much. He also has one at home. His father said that he got it during the "Zhuazhou" ceremony when he was one year old.
"After you find the mushrooms, you can't touch them with your hands. You can only take pictures with your camera. Did you understand, kids?"
The director uncle held a loud speaker and shouted to a few little kids who were playing with cameras.
Su Youli nodded, looked at the director, and answered obediently, "I know."
The place where the children were going to look for mushrooms was a small hill. At the director's command, everyone set off.
Cen Yuankai ran very fast. His father did not complete the task yesterday and got last place, so he ate very poorly last night, two steamed buns and a bowl of rice soup.
Cen Yuankai had never eaten anything so disgusting before, and he vomited out the rice soup as soon as it entered his mouth.
He swore that he must get first place today.
Mi Le always kept in mind what Mi Huan told him, that he should take good care of his younger siblings, and when they first set out, he held one of them by the hand.
"Niuniu, why do you have a bump on your head?" Mile pointed at the bump on Niuniu's forehead.
Su Youli also tilted his head to look, and sure enough, he saw the wound on Niu Niu's forehead, with a little bruise in the middle of the bump.
Niuniu lowered her head and whispered, "I bumped into the table last night."
"You should be more careful next time. Girls can't leave scars. Didn't your father apply medicine for you?"
Niu Niu grabbed the corner of her clothes and shook her head.
Su Youli squatted down, took his small schoolbag off his back, and took out a tube of ointment from it.
Mi Le took Niu Niu's hand and squatted down, "Youyou, what kind of medicine is this?"
Su Youli recalled what Brother Xiao Tang said and said, "It's a plaster that can reduce swelling."
Children of this age like to jump and do things. Although Su Youli is a quiet child, Tang Dou always thinks, "What if?"
Su Youli stared at Niu Niu's bulging forehead and was a little afraid to move while holding the plaster.
When the little guy is thinking about something, he likes to frown, then reach out and grab the photographer uncle's trouser legs, and look up for help.
The photographer looked down at the words on the ointment. It was a swelling-reducing ointment specially for children. He nodded and told the little guy to give it to Niu Niu without worry.
Su Youli squeezed out a little white ointment and went over to help Niu Niu apply it.
A faint smell of medicine spread, and the cool touch melted on the forehead. Niuniu raised her hand and touched the swollen wound, saying, "Thank you, Youyou."
The little guy shook his head and said you're welcome, "Be careful next time."
The three children walked hand in hand on the path leading to the mountain, and the air gradually became fresher.
Mile picked three leaves and shared them with Su Youli and Niu Niu. The three children held the green leaves and walked happily along the mountain road.
Halfway through the walk, Mile suddenly started singing.
Su Youli turned to look at him and said happily: "Brother Lele, I have seen this cartoon!"
Mi Le's eyes widened, and he asked in surprise, "Really? Have you also seen "The Young Heroes of the Magic Army"? "
Su Youli nodded. This was Brother Yang Yang’s favorite cartoon.
When talking about cartoons, the three children became more talkative. Even Niu Niu, who had not talked much along the way, raised her hand and said that she had also watched "Young Heroes".
So, in the next shot, the three children who were originally walking hand in hand in the mountains, sang the song "Young Heroes of the Divine Soldiers" in their baby voices.
“I chase the light of my dream~ because I have the courage, I am not afraid of danger~”
The loudest among them was Mile, who sang almost at the top of his lungs.
Su Youli only knew how to sing this one line and couldn't quite remember the lyrics. Even so, she was very happy while humming the tune.
Niu Niu also sang along with them in a low voice.
The three Little Red Riding Hoods are shaking their heads, which is quite cute.
The sunlight shines through the gaps between the leaves onto the ground, forming light spots of various shapes.
Into the dense forest, three very young guests came, humming songs and walking step by step.
