Chapter 1 I'll Share a Little Fruit with You

Is it because we don't feed her that such a young child runs out to find food?

"Thank you, but I don't need it."

This was the first time Gu Tingxiao had been fed by such a young child, and he really didn't know what to do.

"You came here alone?"

It's quite a distance from the persimmon tree to here. He's an adult, so walking here doesn't seem like much to him. But how did this tiny-looking child manage to walk so far?

An Man didn't speak, her little mouth slightly pursed, stubbornly offering the green fruit in her hand to Gu Tingxiao's arms.

Perhaps it's because I want to share it with myself.

Looking into those beautiful eyes and seeing the stubbornness in them, Gu Tingxiao suddenly felt that if he rejected her, he would be doing something very wrong.

Having no other choice, Gu Tingxiao had to accept the small, inedible green fruit.

"Thank you."

Gu Tingxiao said.

Seeing that he had taken his fruit, Anman blinked her big, dark eyes, as if to express her joy.

It was already afternoon, and the sky was already dark because of the rain. It seemed very unsafe to leave such a young child here alone.

As he spoke, Gu Tingxiao bent down and opened his arms to An Man.

An Man rubbed the small fruit in her hand, not quite understanding what he meant.

Gu Tingxiao tried to put her arm around An Man, and after seeing that she did not react excessively, she pulled her into her arms.

The child looked very thin and small, and when you picked him up, he felt even lighter, like a feather.

Suddenly, her gaze rose higher. An Man, held in Gu Tingxiao's arms, nestled in his broad embrace, experiencing for the first time the view from a height of 1.8 meters.

After the two figures, one large and one small, had gone far away, a small red snake with a triangular head, which had been cowering in the grass, finally dared to move its body and swam into the depths of the mountains like lightning.

If it weren't for that little kid of unknown origin, Gu Tingxiao would have been its prey long ago.

It's strange, the little child did nothing, yet made the venomous snake feel an unusual sense of oppression.
