Chapter 145 Little Mushroom An'an

The outside world is full of strange and chaotic things.

Xiao Anman felt as if she had slept for a very long time, and of course, she also had a super long dream.

The omen of waking up is the unpleasant smell that can be clearly smelled at the tip of the nose.

There were several flies buzzing around her ears, and she could hear them trying to swat them away.

However, her hands and feet were incredibly heavy, and she was unable to use her own strength.

In the midst of a dark vortex, Xiao Anman finally discovered a glimmer of light after a long journey.

Following the call of that glimmer of light, Xiao Anman worked very hard to reach it.

The moment she arrived, Xiao An let out a small sigh of relief. Whew, so tired, but we're finally here.

At the entrance of a small wooden cabin by the sea, a boy dressed in rough cloth looked at the small mound on the bed, at his hands covered in bloodstains, and felt a little incredulous.

Whether it's themselves or the little one in bed, meeting in such an unfamiliar sea, each with their lives hanging by a thread, it's still unbelievable no matter how you look at it.

I thought I'd never see this little guy again.

"Mmm, water~"

Having finally found an exit, An'an felt her mouth was parched and she desperately needed to drink water, so she started humming softly.

Her sweet, childlike voice, uttered between sleep and wakefulness, was so endearing.

Upon hearing the traces of Xiao Anman, Pei Gu instantly appeared at her bedside.

Has it finally woken up?

This deserted island is sparsely populated, and there are no ships to be seen. Pei Gu himself has not yet figured out a solution, but now, because of Xiao Anman's survival, he has become even more attentive.

By the time the warm water was brought to Xiao Anman's lips, she was almost fully awake.

His large, clear black and white eyes looked at Pei Gu as if he were a stranger.

Indeed, to this child, he was a complete stranger.

They had only met a few times, so it's normal that she doesn't remember him, especially since the occasions when they met weren't exactly pleasant.

Who is this person?

Pei Gu had no idea that under normal circumstances, Xiao Anman would have recognized him at a glance.

Because Pei Gu was unaware of what had happened to Xiao Anman, he was not surprised when Xiao Anman looked at him with unfamiliar eyes; he simply felt it was to be expected.

Although she didn't know who this person was, she was extremely thirsty.

So, with Pei Gu's help, Xiao Anman gulped down all the water in one go.

Just as he put down his cup, Pei Gu heard Xiao Anman playing the drums by herself.

Come to think of it, the child has slept for almost a whole day and hasn't eaten anything during that time.

Although she was only sixteen years old, in Pei Gu's eyes, Xiao Anman was just a child, while he was an adult capable of taking care of her.

This place may not have much else, but its ecology is well-preserved. There are still some wild fruits, and he didn't finish eating the fish he caught yesterday.

As Pei Gu turned to busy himself with eating, Xiao Anman, wrapped in a pocket made of a bed sheet, sat up on the bed.

She looked around the little wooden house with great curiosity. What exactly was this place?

Who was that older brother from earlier?

Apart from her own name, Xiao Anman couldn't remember anything at the moment. She was confused, but she wasn't afraid of Pei Gu.

She got out of bed barefoot, and even her gray pocketed clothes couldn't hide her flawless, snow-white skin.

She opened her arms like a waddling little penguin and walked toward Pei Gu, who was still preparing food.

As an assassin, Pei Gu had extremely keen senses, and he noticed everything when Xiao Anman got out of bed and walked towards him.

However, since he wasn't worried that Xiao Anman would do anything dangerous, he didn't turn around.

Wow~

Like a mischievous child, Xiao Anman made such a sound as he approached Pei Gu.

It would be a miracle if it scared Pei Gu.

He still didn't turn back.

Hmm, this older brother isn't scared at all?

His little head was filled with big questions. Xiao Anman tugged at his clothes and said, "Hey, why aren't you saying anything?"

Her small hands were less than half the size of her own, and she used very little strength.

But Pei Gu actually put down what he was collecting.

Looking back, he asked, "What do you want to do?"

What do you want to do?

At this moment, Xiao Anman wasn't trying to do anything; she was trying to ask something.

Why am I here? Everything here feels so unfamiliar to An'an, including this older brother.

She pointed to herself and then to Pei Gu, her bright, intelligent eyes darting around.

"Do you want to ask me why I'm here? Or do you want to ask me why I'm with you?"

An An nodded first, then shook her head, saying it wasn't entirely that problem.

"Brother, who are you? Where is An'an's family?"

In Xiao Anman's mind right now, she is just an ordinary child, but she is very clear that the older brother in front of her is not a member of her family.

“Pei Gu, I don’t know anything about your family.”

This place is quite far from Ancheng, and it's not just An'an who's asking this question, but also Pei Gu himself.

Don't you remember how you got here?

"I don't remember."

The little bitter gourd's face was filled with sorrow for these closed-off memories.
