Chapter 37 An Ordinary Little Flower-Watering Prodigy

Madam Gu handed the small spray bottle to Xiao Anman.

"You need to point this spout at the flowerpot, An'an, understand?"

"Understood."

Holding the small spray bottle, An'an looked like a little general entrusted with an important task. She answered very seriously.

Then she started using a spray bottle to water all the flowerpots she could reach on the balcony.

"An'an is so amazing!"

The little girl, carrying a tiny watering can, clumsily but earnestly watered every orchid she could care for, her endearing clumsiness unaware of her own cuteness.

Xiao An felt a little shy after hearing the praise, but she watered the flowers even more diligently.

Soon the water in the small spray bottle was used up. Xiao An shook the small spray bottle in her hand, her face filled with disbelief.

Why did it disappear?

"Alright, An'an, we've finished watering the flowers. Let's go see your room."

Madam Gu found it amusing, but these flowers had already been watered almost all once, so they were fine and didn't need any more watering.

Xiao Anman reluctantly put down his new toy.

After Xiao Anman and the others had seen the beautiful little room, Old Madam Gu led her to see some of the treasures she had recently received.

The old woman and the child lingered on the second floor for almost two hours. It was only when there was something downstairs that Madam Gu needed to report to that old lady that she left. Xiao Anman wandered around the second floor by herself for a short while.

Finally, her gaze fell on a small cup.

When Gu Tingxiao came up, Xiao Anman was carefully carrying a quilt full of water in her little hands toward the balcony.

What are we supposed to do?

Gu Tingxiao followed Xiao Anman to the balcony, where she saw Xiao Anman pour the water from the cup she had been holding like a treasure into the flowerpot.

Judging from the scattered water stains on the floor, this probably isn't Xiao Anman's first time participating in the South-to-North Water Diversion Project.

"An'an, do you need Daddy's help?"

Upon hearing her father's voice, Xiao Anman quickly turned to look at Gu Tingxiao, and then handed the cup in her hand to Gu Tingxiao with great trust.

Then the father and daughter did some volunteer work again. Gu Tingxiao filled water containers, and Xiao Anman was in charge of watering the plants. They watered every potted plant on the balcony, especially the orchid that Old Madam Gu had watered earlier, which looked rather wilted and received extra care.

...

After they finished dinner and left, when Madam Gu went to the balcony, she thought of how cute Xiao Anman looked when she was watering the flowers, so she picked up the small spray bottle and watered the delicate orchids again.

Then he calmly left, concealing his achievements and fame.

She wouldn't normally help Grandpa Gu water the flowers.

...

Unable to sleep, Mr. Gu came to the balcony in the middle of the night to check on his beloved orchids. Seeing that all his precious orchids had suddenly become listless, he was heartbroken.

It was working fine, so why is it suddenly not working?
