Chapter 108 Footsteps

"Where is everyone?" A slightly hoarse voice came from behind, full of surprise. "Who's hiding in the library? Come out! It's class time, or I'll tell the teacher you skipped class!"

Cheng Shuang held her breath and moved carefully, trying to avoid the chairs plugged into the gaps in the desk and the messy wires under the desk. It always took some effort, and in the quiet environment, even a heavy breath echoed, making the girl even more cautious.

Cluck-clack, cluck-cluck-clack!

Cluck-clack, cluck-cluck-clack!

The heel hit the ground, getting closer and closer.

Cheng Shuang paused for a moment, feeling something was off.

Three footsteps? How could it be a set of three?

The first sound is very loud, giving the impression of being unable to bear the weight, while the next two sounds are relatively lighter.

Could it really be a student, a student with mobility issues who uses crutches?

impossible!

The little girl subconsciously rejected her guess; the mournful sigh of the sirens was not fake.

"Haha, I was just kidding! Why would I snitch? I'm not the kind of woman who harms others without benefiting herself!"

Her footsteps became light and agile, echoing through the empty library, frequently disturbing Cheng Shuang's hearing. Several times, she couldn't quite place where they came from.

"Hey, I see your feet! Come out! Let's read together, okay? I'm a little scared to be alone. Are you scared...?"

As the last word was uttered, a huge pig's head suddenly lowered, its beady red eyes coldly peering under the desk.

Cheng Shuang, who was hiding under the row of tables around the corner, immediately covered her mouth to avoid screaming. She wasn't much faster than it, and the distance between them, which was more than ten meters in a straight line between the door and the table, was shortened to a few meters.

If the pig-headed monster just moves a little to the side, he can catch her.

Because they weren't far apart, the little girl could clearly see the monster's true appearance.

Beneath the enormous pig's head was the slender body of a young girl.

It supports its overly heavy head with both hands to prevent it from bending over and falling to the ground, unable to get up due to its weight.

Upon discovering that no one was hiding under the desk on this side, it propped its head up with one hand and braced its other hand on the ground to help its two legs walk. Perhaps it had been in this state for a long time and had become skilled through practice. Its movements showed no signs of fatigue and were agile and cheerful.

That's why we hear the 'clunk, clunk clunk' sound of footsteps.

The pig-headed monster wasn't angry about its failure; instead, it happily began humming a tuneless song.

The sound was very soft, yet it inexplicably found its way into Cheng Shuang's ears, making it impossible to ignore.

'La la la la, A loves B, B loves C, C loves no one, she's number one at being naughty. B says A is disgusting, A says C is disgusting, B gets angry and slaps A, A cries and kisses innocent C. C angrily kills A, B feels guilty and buries A, C takes her anger out on B, B, heartbroken, makes a mistake and runs away from home that night, attracting the wolf in sheep's clothing. La la la! A, B, and C all died that night, everyone died! La la la la la~'

Cheng Shuang was completely confused and strongly suspected that the pig-headed monster was playing tricks to deliberately distract and disrupt her thinking.

The little girl was a bit angry; she didn't want to listen to such a messy and off-key song!

Although the library has lights, it has no windows and is shaded, so the brightness is not as good as outside. That's why there are desk lamps on each desk.

Fortunately, the pig-headed monster's head is too big, and its beady eyes are small and clustered. Combined with the lighting problem, this makes it have to get very close to see everything, giving the impression that it has poor eyesight and a limited field of vision.

However, its big nose twitches, suggesting it has a very developed sense of smell.

Cheng Shuang covered her ears, mentally assessing the other party's strengths and weaknesses. She dared not move, yet she couldn't remain still, because it quickly moved two steps towards the corner... A strong, fishy stench assaulted her senses, forcing the girl, who was holding her breath, to still have tears welling up in her eyes.

what to do!

The path was blocked by a dense array of chair legs under the table on the right, while on the left came the approaching footsteps of the pig-headed monster and a series of ABC chants.

With her delicate eyebrows furrowed tightly, Cheng Shuang's mind raced as she desperately tried to think of a way to escape.

"La la la..."

here we go again.

Singing the same lyric over and over again, it's really...

etc!

Cheng Shuang smiled; she had come up with a solution.

Hehehehe!

The little girl smiled smugly, and the moment the black leather shoes stood in front of her, she spoke, "Who are you?"

The singing stopped, and the pig-headed monster's low, hoarse voice chuckled, "Ah! The little mouse has finally decided to show its face!"

It quietly took two steps back and teased, "Come out and let me see you. I love nibbling on the delicate cheeks of little girls like you. They're fragrant, smooth, and the bones are crisp and chewy."

The sound of slurping saliva could be heard.

Cheng Shuang felt disgusted and even angrier.

She gritted her teeth, mentally rehearsing a second backup plan, and suddenly crawled out from under the table.

Up close, face to face, the pig-headed monster before me was even uglier than I had imagined.

Its cheeks were covered with coarse, short hair, and its skin was dark with brown spots. Although its head was huge, wrinkles covered the corners of its eyes and forehead, making it look like an orange that had been swollen and then dried up.

Its row of lower fangs was sharp and filthy, with white maggots and rotting flesh weaving through the gaps, and a stench that seemed to materialize around the pig-headed monster's entire body.

The little girl had an urge to take out her toothbrush and give it a good brushing.

Of course, she wasn't naive enough to care about the monster's health at this point, and even if its smell brought tears to her eyes again, she had to hold back.
