Chapter 123 will be mine

The dance studio was brightly lit, and the female students stood neatly in front of the barre, their stomachs in, chests out, and heads held high, each one as spirited as a young poplar tree.

The pale-faced female teacher, dressed in a fitted exercise uniform with a thin, non-transparent long skirt around her waist, gripped the barre, her head facing the changing room, and slowly revealed a smile.

"Luo Qi, weren't you feeling unwell? Why did you come out?" The teacher's tone was gentle, but her voice was very cold.

"I want to audit the class; I don't want my grades to fall too far behind everyone else's." The little girl was very familiar with this question, as she was often cared for by the teacher during PE class, so she answered quite confidently.

"Sit over there! Don't disturb the other students' class." The dance teacher was clearly satisfied with this answer. She pointed to the long bench in the corner, then ignored Cheng Shuang and turned to whisper, "Continue, swing your legs and kick. The supporting leg must be straight, not bent. After stretching, you need to kick your legs open. Once they're open, it won't hurt anymore! Listen to the count, 1, 2, 3..."

A row of long legs swung up.

Leaving aside the exceptionally talented female students, even those with average talent, once they put on their dance costumes and stand upright in front of the barre, exude an elegance and confidence that defies description.

Only one person caught the little girl's attention.

The girl at the back of the line hunched over, kicking her legs until she grimaced and her face was pale. Only when the teacher's inspection gaze fell on her would she barely straighten her chest and pretend to do her movements properly.

Her left arm was wrapped in a rough white cloth, and with every movement, the bloodstains spread further. Her expression was a mixture of pain and fear, a stark contrast to the composed and serious demeanor of her classmates.

Zhang Bao—Lin Bizhi, an unremarkable female student. Perhaps due to her timid personality, she hasn't made many friends, so far no 'student' or 'teacher' has noticed anything suspicious about Zhang Bao, and has generously 'let him go'.

Of course, the biggest reason is definitely the protection period for newcomers. There are too many targets for the monsters to play with. As long as he doesn't do anything stupid and anger the monsters, his life is safe during the protection period.

If the two new students who died at the school gate had been a little calmer, they wouldn't have died so tragically.

This might be what makes ghosts different from other monsters? Are ghosts more capricious?

The thought flashed through Cheng Shuang's mind, but more than that, she had questions. Because after seeing Zhang Bao, she suddenly remembered something she had overlooked.

She had assumed that the students whose names were on the third-grade, third-class exam papers would be 'played' by the four protectors, but Xu Anya has not appeared yet.

The nameplates of the other maintainers did not bear the name Xu Anya.

The little girl scanned the student ID cards of each girl until she met a pair of beautiful eyes with arched eyebrows and a charming smile. She smiled subconsciously, and the class monitor's smile deepened. Her gentle and pure face seemed to be surrounded by a soft glow, making her approachable and lovely.

Suddenly, her smile vanished, and the class monitor's beautiful eyes stared at her with a chilling, piercing gaze, like a blizzard.

Cheng Shuang was slightly taken aback. Gradually, she realized that the class monitor wasn't looking at her, but... She slowly turned her head and saw a 'person' as thin as a sheet of paper with clear but distorted features pressed against her back. When the person noticed her gaze, he gave her a fawning smile.

It's like watching a horror movie online!

The little girl was almost scared to death, but having been through some storms herself, she reacted quickly, covering her mouth with her hands before she could think.

Because of the large movement, the paper monster hiding behind it was completely seen by the class monitor. She narrowed her eyes and her expression gradually darkened.

The bell rang, signaling the end of get out of class.

The paper monster shuddered and pressed itself even closer to Cheng Shuang. Before the little girl could react, it whispered, "Kitty, I'm Glasses Girl, save me!"

The little girl stopped her hand that was about to tear the paper into pieces, looked up, and looked at the class monitor who was striding towards her.

Despite wearing a dance costume that accentuated her figure, the slender girl walked with a bold and aggressive gait, her anger undisguised, a stark contrast to her usual innocent and smiling demeanor.

A forest deer and a battlefield heroine are like two completely different people.

Not to mention the bespectacled girl who was already feeling guilty, even Cheng Shuang, who was prepared for hostility, was somewhat surprised.

"Help me!"

The girl with glasses' wailing woke the little girl up. She tore off the paper figure of the girl with glasses first, folded it up in front of the class monitor, and stuffed it into the empty cloth bag containing the dance costume.

The girl with glasses couldn't help but start groaning and calling for a stop, but the little girl paid no heed.

A little pain is better than death.

The class monitor stopped in his tracks, then suddenly chuckled. His steps immediately lightened, and he moved closer with the agility of a deer. He teased, "What's up? Got something fun? Can't you share it?"

Cheng Shuang raised her eyebrows. "I'm stingy! What about you?" She glanced casually at the dance studio. Just a moment ago, the teacher and students were kicking their legs, but now the studio was completely empty, including Zhang Bao. It was as if the lively teaching environment was just Cheng Shuang's illusion.

"Me too!" The class monitor didn't mind her changing the subject; instead, he chimed in, his voice low and sinister: "He's mine, and nobody can touch him!"

As if noticing the girl's distraction, she reached out and brushed away the wisps of hair on her forehead, instantly drawing Cheng Shuang's attention back to her. When her peach blossom eyes met a pair of deep, dark, beautiful eyes, it was as chilling as a starless winter night; just one glance was enough to send shivers down one's spine.

For some reason, the little girl puffed out her cheeks and retorted defiantly, "What if it's not yours?"

The squad leader grinned, bent down, and whispered in her ear, "It will be mine!"

"So confident, that's really great!" Cheng Shuang complimented politely, tilting her head to give her a thumbs up before standing up and heading towards the changing room. "Is the next period a self-study period? Shall we go together?"

The class monitor quickly caught up, took the girl's arm, and smiled happily, "Okay! But aren't you going to ask for leave?"

"Are you asking for leave? Why are you asking for leave?"

"Of course it's because you performed wonderfully, I'm very happy!"

Cheng Shuang's lips twitched. Her happiness was something she had earned step by step from the crisis. The girl said in a huff, "That's truly my honor!"

"Don't be angry! I was just kidding!" This not-so-funny joke made the class monitor chuckle a few times. Perhaps sensing that the other person wasn't as happy as she was, she cleared her throat and got back to the point, "Tonight is the welcome party. The first-year students are starting school today, so poetry class is suspended. But it's a dance! How about I invite you to be my date?"

Cheng Shuang retorted instinctively, "Why can't you be my date!"

The class monitor gestured to show their heights, his face full of mockery.

Little girl: I'm so angry! Why am I still shorter than everyone else even though I'm already sixteen or seventeen?!
