Chapter 150 Identification Game

The warehouse door was easily pushed open.

Cheng Shuang covered her eyes with her sleeve and looked at the open playground bathed in sunlight.

The large lawn smelled of earth and dampness, and basketball hoops, volleyball nets, archery targets, and many other sports equipment that the little girls couldn't name were arranged in different areas on the playground.

Looking into the distance, she could also see the golf course halfway up the mountain.

The private school lives up to its reputation.

The playground was divided into two parts, with a dirt path in the middle marked by a wire fence, and uneven hoof prints on the dirt.

The playground was more comprehensive and better equipped than that of the girls' school.

The little girl turned around. Next to the warehouse was the auditorium, and behind it was the teaching building. A whole row of beautiful little buildings stood in the sunlight, surrounded by lush green trees, with birds singing in the branches. If you called it a ghost school, probably no one would believe it.

Cheng Shuang lowered her eyes; this tranquil atmosphere was truly unsettling.

Where are the others?

'Sector B!'

Luo An's shrill voice echoed in his mind, "He... that devil, no less than Fei Si Shi, tall and strong, is in Section B of the teaching building."

Cheng Shuang immediately understood that it was Tian Dashuo who had harmed the last rag doll.

Only he could be so ruthless.

Of course, different perspectives lead to different judgments about the ruthlessness of methods. The little girl disliked him, and since Luo An had become her friend, her heart naturally leaned towards him. She immediately exclaimed indignantly, "Yes, he's so annoying!"

She may scold him, but she won't go to the teaching building.

What were they going there for? To discuss their plan to overcome the challenges with Tian Dashuo?

Stop fooling around.

It should be class time, but the school building is completely silent, and there's not a single person in the playground or corridors. So where have all the students gone?

Given the current campus environment setup, it would be unusual if no students were strolling around the campus.

The little girl turned and went to the auditorium.

Pushing open the door, the rows of tiered seats were packed with people. Although they weren't wearing school uniforms, they were all boys and girls aged twelve to fifteen. Some were sitting, some were standing, some were whispering, and some were talking to each other. The whole auditorium still exuded a strong sense of youthful energy.

But as soon as she withdrew her hand, everyone turned their heads away.

Here we go again!

Under countless empty gazes, Cheng Shuang wanted to slam the door shut, but unfortunately, her eyes inevitably turned to the center of the stage at the very front.

A teacher holding a microphone looked at her expressionlessly, while behind him stood three familiar figures—Liao Yuewei, Zhang Bao, and Liu Jueshan.

The little girl pouted. Okay, everyone from Zone 1 is here.

The ordinary-looking male teacher suddenly smiled, "Now the last student to participate in the game has arrived. The competition between Districts A and B will officially begin. Our team has five representatives. Come on, students, come to the stage. I'm going to explain the rules of the game."

What can Cheng Shuang do? Cooperate!

She ran to the stage with her short legs, and the teacher kindly helped her up.

When the little girl stood next to Liao Yuewei, she blinked and realized something was off.

The teacher said that there were five people representing our team, but she was the last one to participate in the game, so there were only four people on stage including her.

She tilted her head to look at Liao Yuewei, hoping to get some hint, but Liao Yuewei seemed to sense something and gave her a look, signaling her to listen carefully to the male teacher's speech.

The little girl tilted her head again to look at the maintainers and newcomers in her row, in the order of herself, Liao Yuewei, Zhang Bao, and Liu Jueshan. When she got to Liu Jueshan's position, there was nothing there... A pair of feet gradually took shape, followed by legs, then a chest covered in blood, and a face with dark circles under the eyes and long tear streaks.

Cheng Shuang swallowed hard.

Soon, Ah Tai's figure solidified, the bloodstains on his clothes faded, and he was dressed neatly. He was standing on the stage unharmed, trembling but still managing to take pictures with his phone, and even muttering something unintelligible.

The little girl saw Liu Jueshan frown impatiently and take half a step towards Zhang Bao.

"...The five representatives from our A District Middle School must evade the encirclement of the elite students from B District. Similarly, the elite students from A District must do their utmost to capture the representatives from B District. There are a total of one hundred elite students from each district. To ensure fairness, the location division between A and B Districts must not be revealed to the representatives. The five representatives must find evidence that the representatives from B District are the ghosts. Perhaps only one of them is a ghost, or perhaps all of them are ghosts. There are three opportunities to identify the ghost and one opportunity to abstain. Anyone who does not answer after three rounds loses the competition. Of course, anyone who identifies the wrong ghost also loses. Representatives can identify the ghost from their own district; if successful, they pass the test, but I don't think anyone would choose to do that, would they?"

As he spoke, he turned his head and gave Cheng Shuang a meaningful look.

"One last tip: ghosts aren't static!" The teacher turned around, raised her arm, and shouted, "Remember, it's all for the honor of the school district! Go students, you can do it! Victory is ours!"

"Go! Go! Go! We will win! We will win!" The enthusiastic young men and women echoed each other, filling the auditorium with encouraging voices.

The teacher, both satisfied and touched, said happily, "Alright, dismissed! Go and hunt them down, students!"

The students sitting on the steps stood up in unison, their young and innocent faces filled with excitement and anticipation, as if they were really playing some extremely fun game. They rubbed their hands together and left in an orderly fashion, eager to get started.

Cheng watched as the people in the auditorium excitedly disappeared through the door, their hurried steps resembling those of a hungry tiger pouncing on its prey.

"Why aren't you moving? Move around! Spread out! Don't even think about slacking off in the auditorium, there's no safe place here!" The teacher roared as he turned around, the microphone in his hand somehow transforming into a pointer. Zhang Bao, who was closest to him, felt his eyelids twitch several times from the slap.

Liao Yuewei grabbed Cheng Shuang's hand and jumped off the stage. As they ran up the steps, the loudspeakers in the four corners of the auditorium blared, and the teacher's sinister voice came through again, "Spread out! Spread out! It's easier to get surrounded if you stay together, you idiots, you're all idiots!"

The two exchanged a helpless glance and left one after the other.

Outside the auditorium, the sun was still shining brightly, and a few students were scattered on the playground, each playing their own games. Among them were a few girls playing volleyball and a few boys playing basketball. Although they were tossing the ball back and forth, their eyes were fixed on the five people standing at the door.

“Brother Liu, I…I want to go with you,” Atai said tremblingly.

“Sorry, I’m a loner.” Liu Jueshan refused without hesitation.

He looked at Zhang Bao, who was trembling even more than him, and said first, "I...I need to go to the bathroom!" Then he was the first to run away.

His gaze slid towards Liao Yuewei.

Seeing Liao Yuewei hesitate, Cheng Shuang immediately tugged at her clothes to remind her. The girl hadn't revealed her grandmother's secret yet, and if the words came out and were interpreted as an accusation, it might not be a good thing.

After all, the teacher warned that "no one would choose to do this," and even if choosing to do so wins the game by correctly identifying the wrong player, will there be any punishment for betraying teammates from the same region? Will it cause the team from that region to lose and be implicated?

None of these things were explicitly stated.
