Chapter 19 The End of the Road

Liu Juan frowned, feeling the same way. Although she was a woman, she was probably one of the heaviest among the four. Hearing the creaking of the plastic under its weight, she couldn't help but worry about her situation.

"At least it's much better than the experience of those without a car," the young girl muttered with lingering fear. As soon as she finished speaking, the sound of the experiencers arguing came from the background.

Once most participants had chosen a car, some immediately realized that there were too few cars and too many people. After a scramble, more than twenty people were left outside.

These people had dark and ugly faces, clearly recalling the various pitfalls in the game. Several of them could no longer withstand the pressure of death and tried to forcibly pull the player out of the nearest car.

Unfortunately, the people in the car were no pushovers either, and they immediately retaliated with punches. After a struggle and scuffle, nothing was changed except for some wasted energy.

“They’re not hurt at all,” Cheng Shuang murmured thoughtfully. “Sorry, little brother!” As she spoke, she immediately reached out and pinched Du Jun, who was standing next to her, hard.

Du Jun tilted his head without changing his expression, and unconcernedly rolled up his sleeve to reveal the spot where he had been pinched. His fair and slender forearm was not even red.

"That means the participants can't hurt each other right now." She rolled up her sleeves, offered her fair arm, and gestured to Du Jun with her delicate chin, saying, "Why don't you try it too, little brother? You can check it out."

Du Jun looked down at the smooth arm stretched out in front of him. It was so slender that he could no longer find the fragility it once had.

He didn't hold back and twisted it hard.

Sure enough, it didn't even hurt.

The little girl's delicate brows furrowed tightly, her worry deepening. She felt that with this bug-like premise, this level would become even more unpredictable...

The countdown lasted no more than ten seconds, giving her no time to think before the game began.

The top three race cars sped out of the warehouse side by side.

Next up were Cheng Shuang, Du Jun, and car number 5.

Aside from the fact that they were the ones controlling the steering wheel, the car was more like a puppy that had smelled a bone, running away at breakneck speed.

On the straight avenue, the scenery on both sides was suddenly transformed into light and shadow, becoming a blur.

Du Jun's car was closely following No. 3, the wind blew all his hair back, and his eyes were stinging and red.

He glanced back, distracted, and saw Cheng Shuang following closely behind, her skin pale and cheeks flushed, no longer the composed and calm person she had been before.

He understood at a glance: the little girl was carsick!

Cheng Shuang felt not only dizzy but also nauseous. However, considering that there was only one road and a large group was following behind, it would be very rude of her to actually vomit.

She closed her eyes, suppressing the intense dizziness, and focused her attention on the road conditions. The straight road was unbelievably clear, quite unlike the previous game experiences.

Since speed isn't the deciding factor, there must be other pitfalls waiting for them ahead.

The little girl sighed heavily. The previous adventure town level was somewhat related to Super Mario, but this racing and parkour game, excluding the speed option...

"Watch out for the road!" Du Jun shouted at the right moment, not caring whether his teammates behind him could hear him. He gripped the steering wheel tightly with both hands and kept his eyes fixed on the road ahead without daring to relax for a moment.

Less than three seconds after he shouted, a piercing scream came from ahead.

All participants held their breath, eager to see what was happening ahead.

What could happen!

The sky was still a clear blue, but the road was blocked.

Cheng Shuang's heart sank, and then screams of agony echoed around her.

"Holy crap! Holy crap! Holy crap! Is this even fair?!"

"Help! Help! I'm afraid of heights, I don't want to play anymore, I don't want to play anymore!"

"Greatly compassionate Guanyin Bodhisattva, Amitabha Buddha, Amen, Allah, God protect..."

That's Liu Juan.

Soon the end of the road came into view. The little girl's face was deathly pale, but her eyes remained relatively calm. She watched the car in front of her speed down, the wind it generated stinging her cheeks. Her concentration increased, and she became more alert from her dazed state.

Her knuckles turned slightly white as she gripped the steering wheel. As the road broke, she gasped and the entire car plummeted vertically down the road.

The feeling of losing control came unexpectedly. The air currents distorted her face, and the strong wind stung her eyes, making tears stream down her face. She squinted and could no longer suppress her panic, so she screamed.

This intense stimulation is extremely unfriendly to a child with a heart condition who has been exempted from physical education since childhood.

It seemed as if the entire car had fallen into the sky in an instant, making it impossible to distinguish between heaven and earth, because clouds were swirling around it, and there was no lush green earth beneath its feet, not to mention that the previous four cars had vanished without a trace, making it impossible to find any pattern.

It can't keep falling forever, so where is the way out?

After getting used to the feeling of weightlessness, Cheng Shuang suppressed her fear, stood up slightly, and tried to brace one foot against the inside of the car and the other foot against the steering wheel to prevent herself from floating up. Seeing that she could still control her body, she leaned out and looked down.

A green track is just a short distance to your right rear. If you do nothing and let the car drop vertically, your vision will be continuously obstructed, and you will eventually miss the correct route that is right in front of you.

She quickly turned the steering wheel to adjust her position and finally landed safely.

The moment they landed, the first four vehicles appeared, still speeding forward, while the shadowy trees on either side gave off a sinister aura.

Before she could even get a good look, Du Jun's cold voice came, "Watch out ahead."

The little girl strained to look up, then her face suddenly changed in surprise, and her eyes widened.

Only after a moment, and upon closer inspection, did I feel a sense of relief.

One after another, boulders rumbled out, each taking up half the width of the road. Fortunately, they came one after another, veering to the left or right, and not too fast. As long as we remained calm, we should be able to survive.

The first four cars were clearly driven by experienced drivers, their maneuvering was quite agile, which gave Cheng Shuang a lot of experience, allowing her to methodically take cover. Even so, the sheer force of the massive boulder whizzing past still caused screams of alarm to erupt from those behind.

Cheng Shuang disregarded the situation of others, because once the rolling stone obstacle was over, the track was divided into three columns, each displaying a series of items suspended in mid-air, emitting a faint light, densely packed like fireflies in the night sky.

Cars 1 and 2 were in grave danger, maneuvering cautiously to avoid the scattered debris. Car 3, however, was much bolder, brazenly ramming into the debris while laughing arrogantly, "Haven't you guys ever played a racing game? These are lucky bonuses! Cowards, what are you hiding for!"

The man was so caught up in showing off that he didn't notice that with each collision, the car slowed down, until it almost blocked Du Jun's path.
