Chapter 232 Convenience Store Upgrade and Renovation

Liu Juan wiped away her wet eyes. "No wonder she always wanted to open the storage room door. I thought she was afraid there wouldn't be enough stock."

Du Lushui remained silent, pondering the connection between the rest stop and its manager. The Gate of Reincarnation couldn't possibly accept the same system as human society, rightfully having the right to manage whoever owns the property. The problem was that Cheng Shuang was underage; even if it was an apartment, it shouldn't be registered in her name.

In retrospect, it must have been an emotional bond!

The moment Cheng Shuang approached the storage room, she knew that the other door wouldn't lead to her home.

Because the boxes of items stacked in the storage room are an illusion, a casual touch revealed nothing.

After she mustered up the courage to push open the small door on the inside, which should have been locked but was now slightly ajar, she immediately covered her mouth.

The bright living room was right in front of me. On the corner cabinet in the entryway was a photo of a family of four: a man and a woman with radiant smiles, a girl with a cool and aloof demeanor but a slight upturn at the corners of her lips, and a little girl with a missing front tooth who was grinning foolishly while hugging a teddy bear...

There was a fruit bowl on the coffee table in the living room, containing the same kinds of fruit that Dad had put there when he left that morning.

Cheng Shuang's eyes were glistening with tears as she looked around her home, which felt both familiar and strange at this moment. When she noticed that there was an extra door between her and her sister's rooms, she squeezed her eyes shut tightly.

She then rushed to the entryway, tiptoed to pick up the photo frame from the corner cabinet, but her fingertips brushed past it and she missed.

The little girl didn't give up. She turned around and ran to her parents' bedroom door. Standing in front of the door, she rubbed her sore eyes and twisted the doorknob hard.

The door remained completely still.

It seemed as if something separated her and her home into two worlds.

Cheng Shuang stood blankly at the door, her expression vacant, like a stiff wooden figure. Then a pair of warm, cool hands lifted her up, tucked her head into their arms, gently patted her back, and a clear, gentle voice softened, "Cry! It'll make you feel better!"

The little girl's tears immediately fell silently, wetting his clothes, and she stretched out her arms to hug the little boy's waist tightly.

She wants to go home!

I want to go home!
