Chapter 269 offers two methods for reference.

This man was so terrified that he couldn't even care about his deep-seated wound, but if he didn't receive timely treatment, he would definitely bleed to death.

Cheng Shuang was not about to give out pills to a man she had only met once, so she turned her attention to the other five adults in the group, hoping to see if any of them had any emergency medication.

Logically, this man should have been more familiar with them, but for some reason, the huddled group was trembling in a corner, seemingly unresponsive to the outside world, trapped in fear, which was completely inconsistent with their previous efforts to drag the man into the elevator.

Cheng Shuang sensed something was wrong, but she didn't have time to think about it further. The monster didn't give up, its claws pounding on the elevator door, leaving many raised claw marks on the metal door, which added a lot of psychological pressure to her.

The little girl's guess was correct; the monster possessed exceptional climbing abilities, otherwise it wouldn't have been able to keep up with the elevator's speed. Moreover, this elevator was built inside metal walls; calling it an elevator was a stretch; it was more like a simple pulley system. The interior was quite basic, with two metal plates replacing the ceiling and floor.

Even though there was some distance between the rock walls on both sides and the elevator, no one could see how long the monster's claws were. Perhaps the five people facing it directly had a chance to see its full appearance, but unfortunately, they were all trapped in fear. Cheng Shuang called out softly, but couldn't wake them up at all.

The half-minute ascent was excruciating; slivers of light leaked from the elevator ceiling—it was the sun. We were finally almost at the top floor.

With this realization, the girl breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that her score in this dungeon probably wouldn't be too high. But things happened too fast; who could have known that her scientific research would turn into the mysterious Tomb Raider Chronicles?

However, the matter was far from over. A violent impact followed, and the entire cramped elevator space seemed to have been hit by an earthquake. Five dry claw marks were smashed into the thick metal door panel, creating five large diagonal openings in the metal wall. Through the openings, one could vaguely see the beautiful humans hidden inside.

This claw clearly didn't intend to force its way through the gap, but instead pulled downwards with a vengeance, the sharp claws scraping against the metal producing an unbearable, ear-piercing noise, until it reached the floor.

The impact was so great that the elevator shook violently a few times and then came to a sudden stop. Cheng Shuang instantly took a breath, quickly found a corner, and bent her knees to steady herself.

The monster wanted to create a hole in the elevator floor. With such destructive force, even if it reached the ground, the people inside would be smashed to pieces like dumplings being dropped into a pot.

This is a monster with intelligence!

The little girl quickly released the Zombie Monster, intending to use it to affect the opponent's mental power. However, the Zombie Monster let out a weak cry, and its black cloak shrank rapidly. This was clearly unexpected, as the Zombie Monster's level was suppressed by the monster, meaning that the monster possessed mental skills.

No wonder everyone was terrified. The monster has a boost to mental attacks, so... is it its eyes?

Did she really not see its full form? Or was she also affected, so that all that remained in her mind was that crimson, terrifying eye and its cold, piercing gaze upon them?

prick!

The harsh scraping sound startled Cheng Shuang awake. She looked down at the floor, which had been torn open with long gaps, and could vaguely see the mottled holes in the metal exterior wall below.

The monster wasn't incapable of breaking through the elevator in one go; it was just toying with them. Simple predation was no longer enough for it; it enjoyed the panic and terror of humans.

Cheng Shuang's guess was soon confirmed. When the claw, which was as long as an adult's arm, shoved into the floor again, it pierced right through the bodyguard's waist and abdomen. It flicked away as if it was in the way, sending the man flying against the metal wall.

The young girl watched coldly as the man fell heavily to the ground and fell silent. She told herself not to panic.

The monster combines the abilities of a zombie and a bear cub; using skills to fight it is simply a head-on collision. She currently has two options: one is to let the monster kill her, deduct the corresponding points, and leave the instance; the other is to try restarting the instance.

In the instant she pondered, a tearing sound rang out, and the claws easily ripped a large chunk off the metal base. The men, huddled together, found themselves with nothing beneath their feet. They didn't even have time to scream; only five thuds could be heard in the distance. The elevator was now riddled with holes, with only a triangular area remaining as a foothold in the corner she was near.

With a slight blink, Cheng Shuang didn't even see how the monster broke through the metal wall and crawled in. She was immediately met with a cold, blood-red eye. The little girl suddenly felt dizzy and frightened, her eyes unfocused and lifeless, like a beautiful doll that had lost its soul. The monster finally got tired of the game of pursuit and swung its withered, rotten claws down at her head.

There was no smell of blood, no screams of flesh being torn apart. The owner of the paw raised it in confusion and found that there was no one in a corner of the elevator.

It let out a furious roar, twisting its head in an attempt to find the little insect.

Luo An sat on Cheng Shuang's shoulder. To lighten its little master's load, it clung to the metal plate riddled with holes by the monster and quietly looked up at the monster that was pacing and roaring in the elevator.

It blinked its blue eyes, unable to bear looking directly at the monster, and turned its head away, moving out of the monster's line of sight. The ghost doll, which had not been subjected to any mental attacks, could see the monster's appearance clearly.

The monster should have been human, because it was covered in strips of beautiful silk dress. However, its withered body was twisted from head to toe by an invisible hand, leaving only two unusually long arms hanging on the ground. It was not without a nose and ears, nor was it missing an eye. These features were twisted behind its bald and flat head, and its eye was hidden by one ear, seemingly having lost its original function.

Looking at the back of its head alone, it resembled a completely disfigured, rotting mummy. But looking at its entire body, it was nothing more than a terrifying monster, without a trace of human characteristics.

The ghost doll pursed its lips, thinking that this monster was even more terrifying than its ten ghosts.

Cheng Shuang was unaware that Luo An had already secretly criticized the monster's ugly and distorted appearance. She tried to adjust her breathing, relying entirely on her arm strength to hang on the outer metal wall, with dozens of meters of air hanging beneath her feet. Her arms were already trembling slightly. She couldn't possibly get through this challenge by relying solely on physical strength.

The monster wasn't actually that far from her. The elevator had been damaged and stopped, so it would leave sooner or later. What the little girl had to do was anger it and make it completely tear open the elevator ceiling so that she would have a chance to escape.

Cheng Shuang wanted to escape the instance, but she didn't want to do it by getting clawed.

Who knows how many points a single claw can take away? Once it breaks zero, the consequences are unpredictable.

The little girl was thinking about her next move when an unexpected event occurred: a series of calls came from the top of the elevator.

"Is anyone there? Is anyone in the elevator?"

Is the elevator broken?

"Don't worry, it'll be fixed right away!"
