Chapter 332 Unwilling to Cooperate

Cheng Shuang's face was a little pale. She glanced at Han Meimei, whose face was also pale, and then gestured towards the room next door.

"Go!" Han Meimei stared blankly at the corpse on the ground, her voice so soft it was almost ignored unless one listened carefully. The young girl, seeing her expression, didn't know how to comfort her. Perhaps Sister Han would rather not find a boyfriend for the time being than see him lying on the ground, riddled with wounds and lifeless.

This instance might truly be doomed, otherwise why would there be no news about it?

Unfortunately, the girl next door was completely unaware of this. Upon discovering the pretty and delicate little girl standing at the door, the girl who opened the door lost interest and tried to close it again.

"Wait!" Cheng Shuang called out to her, "One of your classmates is dead, one is missing, and two others are unconscious."

"Ah, who died again?" Zhou Ting pouted in dissatisfaction when she saw Cheng Shuang reporting the news. Thinking of Zhou Lang's gruesome death, she got goosebumps and complained with disgust and impatience, "Who died? These boys are so useless!"

The girl who opened the door rolled her eyes and stepped out in a less-than-friendly manner, saying, "Come on! I'll go with you to take a look."

"Bai Cha, I'm going to use the restroom now." A woman called out from inside the room, then walked to the restroom door and shouted, "Zhou Ting, are you done yet? I'm about to burst!"

"Alright, alright, stop rushing me. I didn't sleep much last night, and I have dark circles under my eyes!"

"Pah! Who told you to be so naughty and insist on groping in the boys' room!"

"Ah, Huang Xiaoying, I'm going to tear your mouth apart!"

The girls' conversation was filled with familiar banter and teasing, but it was this indifference that was most chilling. They truly didn't care in the slightest whether their classmate, who had fainted on the bed in the next room, was about to die.

Bai Cha was the person sleeping on the soft couch. Cheng Shuang recognized her by her voice and asked curiously as she walked over, "Miss, didn't you hear any noise while you were sleeping by the window?"

"No, the weather is cool and pleasant, perfect for sleeping. Who has time to listen to any noises?" Although the other person's tone was perfunctory, she at least answered Cheng Shuang's question. However, before entering the room filled with the smell of blood, she stopped and looked down at Cheng Shuang, as if she had noticed her little thoughts. "It's no use asking me. These male classmates are closest to Zhou Ting. I don't know any of them well."

Cheng Shuang sighed inwardly, already prepared for the three girls to be unwilling to cooperate in tackling the dungeon together.

She thought for a moment, and after Bai Cha entered the house, she quietly followed behind her to observe. She saw that although Bai Cha saw the dead body on the ground, she quickly looked away, but her goal was clear. She walked to the sofa, picked up a backpack from it, and began to rummage through it without restraint.

Han Meimei watched coldly until she pulled out a flashlight and a metal telescopic baton. Then she glanced at the two pale-faced, unconscious boys on the bed, made a mocking "tsk tsk" sound, and left.

"etc!"

Stopped again by the little girl, Bai Cha turned to the side and crossed her arms, becoming increasingly impatient. "These things belong to my classmate. He didn't say anything, so don't meddle."

Cheng Shuang felt a toothache and resisted the urge to leave, asking directly, "Does this flashlight belong to the three of them?" She was referring to the three boys in the room.

Bai Cha waved her hand, "No, it's the one who's either missing or dead outside."

Cheng Shuang ignored her completely, turned around abruptly, and looked at Han Meimei who was walking towards her. "Last night, Sister Han, did you hear what Brother Li Lei said to the college students before we locked the door?"

Han Meimei put aside her chaotic worries, glanced at Bai Cha who was walking out the door without looking back, calmed down and thought carefully. Then her gaze fell on the schoolbag that Bai Cha had rummaged through and asked incredulously, "You mean the sentence he said about lending the flashlight to the college student?"

“Yes! He Fang’er reacted very strongly last night when Uncle Sun turned on his phone flashlight. I suspected there was something wrong with the light, but I didn’t think about it too much. Especially since we were in the yard, and the college students were using flashlights at that time, I thought I was just being paranoid, or that using lighting equipment in the yard was fine. Let’s assume that Brother Li Lei wasn’t joking, and he really took out a flashlight and turned it on…”

Cheng Shuang spoke incredibly fast, and Han Meimei immediately remembered something she had overlooked. "Last night when I locked the door, I heard something fall to the ground. Could it be the sound of him throwing the flashlight?" She gritted her teeth, furious at her boyfriend's unnecessary actions, then her face fell. "I shouldn't have stopped you from going to check. I thought the men might start fighting..." She hadn't stopped them because she trusted their side's fighting ability, and besides, there was the old man. If a fight broke out, he could at least intimidate the college students, preventing them from causing trouble, even if they didn't cooperate. Who would have thought...?

Han Meimei's face was ashen, devoid of all color. The little girl grasped her suddenly icy hand. "None of us expected that such a trivial detail could lead to so much trouble overnight! Sister Han, it's not your fault, don't blame yourself! This isn't anyone's responsibility!"

Han Meimei wasn't one to wallow in self-pity. Since things had come to this, she decided to seize every clue and find Li Lei as soon as possible so she could truly find peace of mind.

Cheng Shuang saw her close her eyes and exhale a breath of stale air, then open them again and regain her composure, showing that she had already regulated herself. Cheng Shuang sighed with some relief. If it were Lian Rong, she probably wouldn't have been able to process this and would have held a grudge against her instead. It was all because she had provided the clue about the light source too late!

The young girl quickly changed the subject, saying, "The single room on the edge of the east wing is the only room with an incandescent light bulb." The brightness was so different from the other rooms, even with the doors and windows closed; it was uniquely bright.

"So Bai Xiuzhi did this so that you would die." Han Meimei couldn't help but exclaim softly, while Zhou Lang was just a scapegoat by mistake!

The little girl nodded sullenly, "I originally thought that Vice Dean Bai would make the first move against me!" After all, Bai Sha's fierce and vengeful gaze was extremely memorable, and if it were an ordinary person, it would definitely give them nightmares.

But she couldn't understand why Bai Xiuzhi would deliberately leave the dangerous room for her.

Are all the people here crazy?!

There is absolutely no regularity in how they do things.

Han Meimei didn't say anything, but pulled Cheng Shuang away from the lifeless room.

As for the two boys whose fate was unknown, their classmates didn't care about their lives, and the two women, one big and one small, had no intention of saving a few strangers who weren't exactly friendly to begin with.

Sun Han happened to come out of the room. He looked up and smiled at Cheng Shuang, just about to tell her about the old man's condition.

Just then, a series of hurried footsteps came from outside the courtyard. The three people gathered in the courtyard turned to look at the door. Several people in protective suits rushed over, and the leader immediately questioned, "Who? Who is unconscious? We need to take the unconscious person to the medical room."
