Chapter 355 I'm Not Responsible for Food Injury

The first one was a romance film—a trio of three, two women and a man with their backs to everyone. The young girl hadn't seen many romance movies, but she knew that this poster didn't look like a traditional romance film; it was too ordinary. She couldn't tell the love-hate entanglement between the three from the promotional poster.

The second film was a Western adventure – The Cowboy's End, featuring a middle-aged cowboy riding a horse with a backdrop of swirling yellow sand and a crashing UFO. The little girl felt a strange sense of familiarity with this genre; it seemed like there was a similar lighthearted and outrageous comedy in the world, though her memory of it was hazy and she wasn't sure.

The third one is an animated film called Crazy Forest. The background features a big-headed little boy wearing a grass skirt, leaping across the sky with a big smile while holding onto vines. Several wild animals follow behind him, also running and grinning.

The fourth film is a drama – Aya's Future. Countless young men and women hang their heads, their eyes red-rimmed, and the corners of their mouths turned up. The tone is very dark. It's a school-themed film, but it's heavy in every aspect. Watching it for a while will make you feel depressed.

The fifth film was a comedy – a few episodes of the Secret History of the Tang Dynasty. The two male leads looked remarkably similar to two popular male idols in the real world. The girl specifically looked up the cast list, and their names were also very similar. However, in her memory, at least before she arrived at the Gate of Reincarnation, those two popular male idols had never worked together on this film.

Cheng Shuang's initially relaxed expression gradually turned serious. She thought of Li Lei, and the words he had uttered at their parting. If they failed, if the convenience store disappeared, what would await the world?

The little girl pursed her lips and looked at the two familiar faces on the poster, always feeling a deep sense of sorrow.

This place must have been a bustling and prosperous place before!

She shook her head, quickly dispelling the uncontrollable panic. The problem was serious and rigorous, but not suitable for thinking about now. If she got distracted and ruined herself, everyone would be doomed.

The little girl felt that life was wonderful, and she still wanted to live to the fullest until she was old and gray. Eighty-eight was not too little, ninety-nine was not too much, and one hundred years old was just right!

Cheng Shuang decided to choose between a romance film and a comedy film, feeling that the other three were a bit risky.

Du Lushui had previously chosen the fifth film, a comedy, meaning that the strangers who supported the two brothers all opted for comedies.

As the little girl was analyzing the situation, she noticed that Du Lanshan and Du Lushui had a minor argument while buying tickets. Needless to say, Du's younger uncle would eventually give in to Du's older uncle.

Don't be fooled by the fact that Uncle Du is actually a potential brother-complex guy; as long as it doesn't involve life and death, he'll always back down.

Cheng Shuang's prediction was correct. Du Lushui growled in exasperation, "You're truly a womanizer, even if you die under a peony flower! You're incorrigible!"

The man who had been chatting with Du Lushu smoothed things over, saying, "It's the same with romance movies. Comedies are all starring young, handsome actors, and that's what women like. There's nothing we can do about it!"

Du Lushu didn't say anything. Instead, the three women who had successfully bought tickets for the comedy movie surrounded Du Lanshan and sweetly thanked him.

Du Lanshan scratched his head, grinning sheepishly, his eyes fixed on the three women until they finished checking their tickets. He then looked on with a smug expression. His laughter abruptly stopped when his gaze swept over the little girl at the back of the line, who was tilting her head to watch the commotion. His face fell in an awkward expression, like an adult caught doing something wrong by a younger person.

Du Lushui chuckled twice, then called out to the lecherous guy who was trying to walk towards Cheng Shuang, reminding him, "It's time to check tickets for this romance movie!"

Du Lanshan said "Oh," and couldn't help but glance at the girl. Because of his actions, the other three men also noticed Cheng Shuang's presence. They whispered a few words to each other and then followed the line toward the ticket gate.

Cheng Shuang looked distressed; it seemed the comedy films were sold out. She hoped there would still be slots available for romance films.

Animated films are not out of the question, but there are too many uncertainties in the forest. If wild animals appear in groups, even a bear cub would probably not be able to handle it.

Fortunately, there was still a queue at the ticket counter for the romance movie. When she got to the ticket counter, she successfully booked tickets for three people. She wanted to choose the seats closest to the door, but they were already sold out. So she settled for seats on the side.

After the plastic ticket seller took the money and gave her the ticket, he began enthusiastically promoting popcorn and drinks.

Cheng Shuang wasn't interested at first, but she had seen someone outside the movie theater holding a box of popcorn and a drink, so she asked curiously, "Miss, do you sell popcorn elsewhere in the shopping mall?"

The ticket seller's shrill voice immediately turned cold, "It's best not to bring outside food to the cinema. If it's not clean and people get sick from eating it, affecting their viewing experience, then we won't be responsible!"

"I really want to buy it." The little girl puffed out her cheeks and smiled innocently. "But won't eating while watching a movie distract me?"

"How could that be?" The ticket seller became enthusiastic again, his plastic body making a creaking sound as he bent down to approach Cheng Shuang. His face, devoid of features, was stiff, but his tone carried a sly laugh. "Let me tell you, you'll only get an extra surprise if you try the popcorn and drinks sold at the cinema. If you buy them outside, it's not guaranteed!"

Whether she eats them or not, Cheng Shuang decided to buy two sets, one for herself and one for Uncle Du and his friends.

The popcorn and drinks were more expensive than the movie ticket; the two cost 20 points, which is 200 yuan in RMB.

The sales clerk was pleased to see the little girl agree so readily. She prepared two bags for her, quickly packed the food into them, and even gave her two wet wipes as a complimentary gift.

Cheng Shuang thanked them sweetly. Seeing that the tickets had not yet been checked, she stood not far away to observe. Two more male maintenance workers came to queue up behind her.

The ticket seller treats the plastic people and the maintainers the same way, except that when they see a plastic person who has brought their own food, they will give a harsh warning in a bad tone that outside food is not allowed in the movie theater, or if a plastic person who has not brought their own food refuses to buy popcorn, their attitude will become indifferent.

However, in the long line of ticket buyers, only two plastic figures had bought food for the movie theater.

The little girl had a pouty mouth, no wonder the ticket seller was so enthusiastic towards her; she alone contributed half of the sales.

Despite her thoughts, she didn't regret buying the tickets and headed towards the ticket checkpoint. Knowing there were still five minutes until the show started, she joined the queue.

The three men all looked at Cheng Shuang, seemingly curious about her identity.

Tourists may not have points, but that doesn't mean they have nowhere to make money. The currencies in many death zones are interchangeable, but that doesn't mean they will be wealthy.

Judging from her age and demeanor, the little girl in front of me doesn't seem to be an adult over eighteen. If she is a tourist, then she is being a bit too wasteful.

"Hey kid, can you share half of your popcorn with me?" A man who looked to be in his mid-twenties, with a sleazy air, turned around and shouted at Cheng Shuang.

Cheng Shuang lowered her eyes, pretending not to hear, and avoided answering.

She encountered too many people in the land of death who looked down on her age and appearance. Everyone cared, which only made things difficult for herself and was ultimately meaningless.

Besides, it's just ridiculous for a conflict to happen here!
