A gasp was heard from someone in the screening room.
Cheng Shuang sat quietly in her chair, listening to the hushed conversation between the two people in front of her. She couldn't understand how a protector could be so completely unsuspecting.
Even if the movie was really boring, Anzi shouldn't have been so asleep that he didn't even realize the danger was coming. It seemed like he was completely unconscious before losing his life.
"Anzi is dead just like that!" Apula said in a low, angry voice. "Why did you stop me, Longduo!"
Long Duo's expression wasn't good either, and his breathy voice was filled with disbelief, "How was I supposed to know he was sleeping so soundly!"
Something's not right!
"Did he eat something before?" Longduo asked again.
Apra exclaimed in surprise, "He just had a piece of candy in his mouth because he was craving it!"
Both of them looked at the plastic moviegoer on the other side of Anzi. It was happily munching on the popcorn it had bought at the cinema, completely unaffected by the blood and brain matter splattered all over the popcorn bucket.
Anzi sat close to it. He couldn't control his mouth anyway, and hearing the chewing sound, he couldn't help but want to eat.
They had previously ignored the rules sign in front of them, which stated that even food purchased at the Wanwuda Shopping Center could not be eaten in the screening room, let alone snacks brought from other death zones.
One makes you vomit, the other makes you sleepy.
There's no point in saying more now that things have come to this.
The headless corpse lay slumped on the chair. As a companion, even though Anzi wasn't popular and didn't have a deep emotional connection with anyone, he couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions and sadness.
The two remained silent for a while, and it's likely that neither of them was in a good mood.
The smell of blood slowly wafted over.
Cheng Shuang was on edge, distracted by the movie's plot developments while keeping an eye on any commotion in the theater.
She'd already seen the punishment for the second of the four rules, so what about the third? Keep the theater clean.
The little girl glanced down at the trash bag she was carrying, and as soon as she looked up, she immediately noticed four plastic cleaning figures holding brooms, each heading excitedly towards a different seating aisle.
One of them came straight for her.
Cheng Shuang proactively offered the garbage bag with both hands and gave the expressionless plastic cleaning mannequin a sweet smile.
The plastic figure tilted its head, its empty, pupil-less eyes scrutinizing her, not wanting to miss a single detail, as if searching for any residue on her body.
Fortunately, the vomit from the plastic moviegoers was very sticky and landed entirely on the raincoats, while the ground and seats remained clean and tidy. Otherwise, Cheng Shuang might have also run into trouble.
Finally, it packed up the trash bag, turned back three times, and left reluctantly.
The little girl could even sense the inexplicable resentment emanating from it, as if it was blaming her for not giving it a chance to finish off its enemies.
Cheng Shuang breathed a slight sigh of relief, glanced back, and her pupils immediately tightened slightly.
One of the cleaning staff swept the plastic moviegoers covered in vomit into a garbage bag, which was no bigger than a normal plastic sack. They huddled together in twos and threes, shrinking to about the length of a hand, and with just a gentle shake, the plastic bodies snapped and broke apart.
In order to obtain a complete body, they began to plunder the heads, hands, feet, and other parts of other plastic figures, causing chaos inside the bag.
Cheng Shuang felt a chill run down her spine. If she hadn't put on her raincoat in time, would she be swimming in a garbage bag now, or even have her limbs and head torn off by a plastic mannequin...?
The little girl took a deep breath and then looked at the cinema's designated trash bag.
Anyway, when she held it in her hand, the bag was just an ordinary bag, like the metal bar that the elevator operator used, with no special functions.
Perhaps, only when used by a wanderer will it have an unexpected effect.
She remembered someone mentioning that the higher the level of the rest stop, the higher the level of the Death Land one would enter; occasionally encountering a low-level Gate of Reincarnation could be considered a vacation.
So the homeless here can use special tools that are useful to them, such as those huge pliers that can snap off heads and garbage bags that can shrink people instantly.
Cheng Shuang couldn't help but feel fortunate that she hadn't let her guard down when entering the elevator; otherwise, if she had really been hit by the metal rod, her head might have been smashed open...
The movie is now two-thirds over, and the plot is reaching a minor climax.
The two women completely turned against each other over the male lead, engaging in fierce battles every few days, which severely impacted their lives and work. The female lead suffered emotional trauma, while the supporting female character was constantly tormented by the female lead.
They were arguing fiercely, but gradually the male protagonist managed to extricate himself from the situation and found himself with a lot of free time. Before long, he fell in love with an intern at his own company.
He enjoyed the admiration of young women while smugly basking in the attention of two women who were jealous of him.
By the time the two women realized it, they were already a thing of the past.
The male protagonist righteously admits that the three of them made a mistake, and he can't bear to see the sisters break up because of him. He also says that they should each have a new life.
That's not wrong in itself, but it sounds ridiculous when he says it.
The two women unite once again, but this time their target is not the intern, but the male protagonist.
Once a woman hardens her heart, she'll dare to brave any danger.
One of them was deeply in love, and the other spent money on gifts, making the man so pampered that he lost all sense of time. Although they were often jealous in public, they never brought up their grievances in front of the man.
With the two former lovers still passionately entangled, the intern gradually lost interest.
The man lived a life with a hot and proud beauty on his left and a delicate and gentle lady on his right.
Unfortunately, their happiness was short-lived. One dark and stormy night, the two men lured the man to a mountaintop, intending for the three of them to go stargazing together. However, the man, holding binoculars, stepped onto the edge of a cliff and fell to his death. By the time the rescue team found him, he was already dead.
The film deliberately pulled back a shot to show a man's mutilated body, his eyes wide open and lifeless as he stared at the sky.
Outsiders could see that his two lovers didn't get along, and they thought the man was incredibly absurd. He knew they would argue whenever they met, yet he still insisted on being together, as if he were an emperor with his harem at his beck and call.
Everyone who knew him was speculating about the cause of his death. Of course, there was no suspicion of murder. It was just that when two women were arguing, he went to mediate but failed to notice the road conditions, which led to him falling off a cliff and dying.
Coincidentally, the parties involved also gave similar testimony. Police conducted multiple interrogations and discovered that the man was indeed promiscuous and prone to disputes. They never imagined that two rivals could join forces.
The final scene of the movie shows the beautiful female boss selling her company and boarding a plane to go abroad, while the pretty mistress changes her appearance and continues her studies. Both of them, as the man had said, have started new lives.
A cheerful melody played on the screen, and instead of the usual subtitles, several seat numbers scrolled across the screen, inviting the viewers with those seats to come up on stage for an interaction.
Unsurprisingly, all the maintainers present were selected.
