Chapter 363 Declaration of Terror

Don't ask how such human emotions can be seen in the eyes of an animal; that's the magic of animation.

The footage flashed by rapidly, frame by frame.

Having learned from the previous experience, no one spoke out or became distracted. All eight remained quiet, treating themselves as the most devoted spectators, awaiting the arrival of the next crisis.

As for wandering around looking for clues, let's forget about it! If some strange question comes up that you can't answer, it would be just as frustrating as taking an open-book exam but forgetting your textbook.

The movie went incredibly smoothly; setting aside the tense atmosphere, it's a well-made production that balances humor and pathos.

At least Cheng Shuang was the one who watched it most with great interest among them.

The question is, is it really just about letting them watch a movie?

The little girl snapped out of her daze and scratched her cheek in bewilderment.

At the end of the movie, the little boy, rescued by the lumberjacks, cried as he returned to human society. His new neighbor, a little girl, carefully helped him integrate into school, adapt to interpersonal relationships, and start a new life with a bright smile.

However, the various animals in the forest who had accompanied him as he grew up were overwhelmed with longing, until the wisest fox suggested, "Why don't we go find Airo?"

"Where can we find it?" asked the little monkey wearing circus shorts, scratching its head.

Human society!

The ending theme song immediately began, leaving viewers who were moved by the animals' passionate emotions with a hopeful suspense.

As cheerful music filled the entire screening room, all the maintainers present held their breath, including Cheng Shuang, who was holding a teddy bear and staring warily ahead.

They were afraid that the animals in the movie would actually do what they said, bursting through the screen, baring their sharp teeth, and feasting as if the screening room were a restaurant.

It's important to know that not many of these animals are purely vegetarian; they won't eat a little boy they grew up with, but their diet does include humans...

However, when the ending theme ended and the lights in the theater came on, there was still nothing unusual.

Some of the plastic-clad moviegoers behind them stood up and started to walk out, sparsely, but soon they filled the exit corridor. Unfortunately, they couldn't get out either; the door was locked securely.

Suddenly, a plastic figure rang out, shaking the doorknob and shouting shrilly, "What's going on? Can't I go to the bathroom? Can't I lock the door with a pass? Open the door! Open the door!"

It seems to be some kind of signal.

A slight vibration emanated from the screen, and the aftershocks spread from the speakers on both sides, enveloping the entire screening room.

The plastic figures kicking the door were completely unaware of anything amiss, continuing their relentless stomping that shook the thick door panel. Had Cheng Shuang and the others not been extremely observant, they would have long since missed the subtle changes emanating from the screen due to the noise they were creating.

Soon, a sharp and piercing shout broke the chaotic atmosphere. The vigilant maintainers quickly looked over and, through the layers of plastic figures blocking the door, saw the plastic mannequin that had kicked the door earlier, forcefully grabbing the plastic figure next to it. Although they couldn't see its expression, its every move revealed panic and helplessness.

The plastic figure's large foot was stuck tightly to the door, unable to be pulled back, and even showed signs of 'melting,' as if it was about to merge with the door panel.

The door, which was originally a realistic 3D image, was transformed into a low-pixel mode resembling a mosaic, and the plastic mannequin trapped inside was also visibly transformed into a blurry mosaic starting from its feet.

Cheng Shuang had seen such a world before; it was the fairytale town they encountered when they first entered the gate of reincarnation.

Unfortunately, the situation was more serious than they had imagined. The plastic mannequin, transformed into a mosaic, shattered like building blocks when lightly touched by the other panicked plastic figures that were retreating.

Screams erupted, piercing and eye-catching.

The mosaic continued to extend, from the door to the wall, slowly creeping to both sides, forming an encircling shape.

The plastic figures were in complete chaos, blocking the narrow doorway, pushing and shoving, injuring countless others. Several more crashed into the mosaic wall, the impact so forceful that they shattered upon contact with the mosaic, becoming assimilated. Some even tried to pull their mosaic-like companions apart, but it seemed like some kind of infectious disease; any contact initiated assimilation.

Only then did the plastic people truly realize the root of the trouble, and they all hid far away, avoiding the walls on both sides and the thick wooden gate, as well as each other.

"This is a two-dimensional world encroaching on three-dimensional space," Du Lushu said solemnly. "Watch your step!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Du Lanshan swiftly picked up Cheng Shuang from beside him and stood her on the chair.

Liu Juan and Du Lushui quickly pulled their feet back as well.

The floor gradually began to be mosaicked, giving the feeling of being enveloped by a low-pixel world.

The decision made by the animals in the movie now sounds more like a terrifying declaration.

Cheng Shuang leaned on Du Lanshan's shoulder and looked behind her. The four of them, including Apra, were huddled up, their faces grim, looking helpless.

Unless they float in mid-air and don't touch anything, sooner or later the entire screening room will be occupied by the two-dimensional world, and there will be no chairs or footholds for them to stay.

The little girl bit her lip and quickly calculated that the only things that could fly were the Zombie Monster, Dragon Flame, and the Rocking Car Card. However, if she wasn't careful, the Rocking Car would hit the ceiling, and touching the ceiling would mean being assimilated by the mosaic.

Both the Lost Monster and Dragon Flame can only bring one person.

Therefore, taking off to escape in an emergency is possible, but it cannot provide a long-term refuge.

The most terrifying thing is that this kind of two-dimensional invasion of three-dimensional space means that you can't grasp the enemy's form and can't find a way to counterattack.

Everything in sight was pixelated, the colorful grains adding a bit of brightness to the otherwise dull screening room. The only things that remained were the seats and the screen in front of them.

The plastic figures huddled together on rows of seats, shivering like harmless quails, hoping to find a glimmer of hope by sitting comfortably. But reality never stands still.

The vibration enveloped the last wall and then slowly spread forward from the seats behind it.

These harmless 'little quails' squawked as they strode forward, using the plastic figures behind them as stepping stones regardless of whether the figures in front of them reacted or not.

Those in the back swarmed forward, crushing plastic figures under their feet. Some had broken arms and legs, while others were trampled so badly they couldn't get up, flattened into paper-thin figures, almost defenseless, and were quickly assimilated by the mosaic, cracking on the spot and shattering into pieces.

For them, it's hard to say whether the paper-cut figures are more tormented or the mosaic figures are more desperate.

Even though the plastic figures have no expression, the evil of human nature is vividly displayed in this escape race.

The horrifying screams intensified the terrifying atmosphere, amplifying infinitely in the increasingly empty screening room where 'people' were dwindling.
