Along the way, Cheng Shuang, riding his bicycle, listened to his two fellow apprentices in front of him chatting away, trying to learn zombie language from the zombie quotes. He absentmindedly wondered which part of the process had gone wrong.
She clearly chose the movie Mr. Vampire, and now the main character is correct, but the supporting characters and plot don't connect. The strangest thing is that her visual mosaic didn't activate.
Could it be because she didn't use any skills?
Cheng Shuang habitually considers things thoroughly, taking into account both the good and the bad.
So she quickly realized that the lucky single-person round-trip ticket did not belong to the real land of death, and the punishment of visual mosaic would not have an effect here. Similarly, the punishment would only truly come when the gate of the next cycle of reincarnation opened.
The authenticity can be verified by using the skill once.
We've arrived at Tengteng Town, a town said to be overrun by zombies, littered with corpses.
Cheng Shuang had experienced many terrifying things, but Tengteng Town still terrified her.
Even though no zombies appeared during the day, the town was already deathly still, filled with mutilated corpses and severed limbs. Who knows what it would be like at night.
As moviegoers, we often see glimpses of cruel reality while watching a film. For Cheng Shuang, the city just a wall away is like hell descending upon the world.
Chaotic times produce heroes, but also wronged souls.
After a long day of travel, even the toughest men couldn't take it anymore. Wencai and Qiusheng decided to rest outside the city for a while and wait until the zombies appeared at night before entering the city. The two whispered among themselves and kept glancing at Cheng Shuang, seemingly afraid that the girl would secretly tell the commander-in-chief about them when she got back.
Cheng Shuang glanced at them, able to discern their thoughts. She took the small package Da Shuai had packed for her from the bicycle basket, and pulled out four large, still-warm, oil-paper-wrapped meat buns. She handed them to the two brothers, smiling, "I'll share with you two; I can't eat this much."
Wencai immediately accepted it with a smile, and couldn't help but praise, "Sister Shuangshuang is so kind, completely different from the Marshal..." Before he could finish speaking, Qiusheng snatched a bun from him and stuffed it into his mouth, whispering, "If you can't speak properly, then don't speak!"
Wen Cai took a big bite of the steamed bun, glanced at Qiu Sheng, and then smiled silently at Cheng Shuang. "The steamed bun smells so good!"
Cheng Shuang smiled and began to eat the steamed buns in small bites. She had already realized at the Long family ancestral hall that the Marshal and Lin Zhengying were not friends; on the contrary, they had a considerable grudge against each other.
Although the little girl was determined to follow the protagonist, she was unwilling to agree with Wencai or speak ill of the general. Despite it being an arrangement by the Gate of Reincarnation, the general was actually quite good to her.
At least the young girl felt that she couldn't be ungrateful.
The three huddled against the wall, with the stench of decay wafting from the city from time to time. The environment was truly unpleasant, but they were all exhausted and hungry, and having something to eat was the greatest happiness they could ask for.
Qiu Sheng didn't have much of an impression of Cheng Shuang at first. Even though she was pretty, she was still just a child. But now that he saw that Cheng Shuang showed no disgust or spoiled attitude, and that she didn't stop to slow them down while riding her bike, and even shared her steamed buns with them, he immediately felt a bit of goodwill towards this little girl.
He actually thought Wen Cai was right; Cheng Shuang and Commander Long were indeed different.
Perhaps this is why the nine sons of the dragon are all different.
Qiu Sheng was lost in thought, his eyes fixed on the little girl as she finished her steamed bun and then took out a large bread roll that only city people ate from her bag. She broke it in half and handed it to him and Wen Cai.
Wen Cai took it with his head down, took a bite, and looked up in surprise, "It's delicious!"
Cheng Shuang smiled but didn't say anything. Qiu Sheng, however, raised an eyebrow and asked, "Do you have something to ask of us?"
The little girl shook her head. She wasn't asking them for anything. Master Lin Zhengying wasn't any better than them. If he had just shown a little skill, it would have been enough to give her a hard time.
But Cheng Shuang thought that Taoist arts should depend on talent. Qiu Sheng and Wen Cai had studied for so long but hadn't even scratched the surface, which showed that their talent was limited.
So she doesn't ask for much; she would be content if she had the chance to learn to draw more professional talismans.
"Really not?" Qiu Sheng didn't believe it. Seeing the little girl still shaking her head in confusion, he stroked his chin and questioned, "Then why are you so nice to us!?"
Half a loaf of bread is good?!
Cheng Shuang was speechless. She smiled at Qiu Sheng, took back the half-eaten bread, took a big bite, and tried her best to finish chewing it. Under Qiu Sheng's surprised expression, she made a face and said, "Hehehe, did I treat you badly again?"
Wen Cai nudged Qiu Sheng with his shoulder, and mumbled while eating his noodles, "Why are you thinking so much? What does Shuangshuang want from us? The two of us combined aren't even as rich as her and Da Shuai!"
Qiu Sheng chuckled, then reached out and snatched the half-eaten bread from Cheng Shuang, raising an eyebrow and grinning, "Eat your bread, and your brother will protect you!"
"I'll protect you too, Brother Wencai will protect you too!" Wencai quickly patted his chest.
Cheng Shuang blushed slightly, snorted, and turned her head away. She had a brother, who cared!
As night fell, the three changed into zombie clothes and blended into the city.
The four coffins exploded, and the zombies, moving at night, slowly jumped in the same direction.
Cheng Shuang's clothes didn't fit well, at least a size too big. She secretly used a safety pin to fasten the hem of her robe so that she wouldn't trip over herself when she was pretending to be a zombie and hopping around.
When I looked up again, my face was covered by two large hands with a greasy liquid that smelled strange and unpleasant.
Wencai said, "This is zombie oil, it's safe to apply..."
Before he could finish the word "point," he looked shakily behind Cheng Shuang. The girl stiffly turned to the side and saw a zombie pressed against her. When her shoulder touched the zombie, the icy touch sent a shiver down her spine.
