Chapter 445 Provocation

They watched as Ross, full of energy, retreated three feet in an instant, putting distance between himself and them.

Cheng Shuang sighed, preparing to appease this little BOSS sister, after all, the little sister's eye-rolling was practically flying to the sky. If she really got upset and all the monsters gathered together and surrounded them, there might not even be a second Silent Hill movie.

"It's still small. When you were born, it was just a cell. You can hit it, but be gentle. Don't make a bloody mess and get me all splattered with blood!"

The demonic infant, baring its teeth, tilted its head, not understanding who Cheng Shuang was talking about, nor what cells were, and grinned at Alessa, showing off eight teeth.

Alessa: You two are crazy!

After a moment of dizziness, Rose finally came to her senses. As soon as her vision returned to normal, she stared wide-eyed at Cheng Shuang, questioning the meaning of life in the face of what she was seeing.

If she remembered correctly, the girl leaning on Cheng Shuang's shoulder was the same girl who had scared her so much that she fell from a height!

How did they end up together? And why are they so close?

In an instant, Ross became a conspiracy theorist.

But then she thought again, what bad intentions could three children possibly have? Little did she know that even if they didn't have any bad intentions, the power of a mischievous child was something that ordinary people couldn't withstand.

Especially with bears, it's easily contagious.

"What's next?" Seeing the room fall silent, Cheng Shuang couldn't help but turn to Alessa and ask, "Is it those bugs?"

Alessa had dead fish eyes and a deep gloomy expression, which conveyed two words: she was courting death!

Cheng Shuang automatically clarified, "I wasn't hoping they'd actually do it!" She quietly put the insecticide back into her spatial storage and snatched the demon baby's matchbox, "Don't play with matches! If a child plays with fire, he'll wet the bed at night!"

The demonic infant didn't react much; it had gotten used to being controlled by Cheng Shuang and didn't even bother to provoke a spark. Alessa's eyes, filled with hatred and anger, contracted violently as they swept over the matchbox, several times more intensely than the demonic infant's reaction.

Although Cheng Shuang had forgotten many important plot points, she could still sense everything about Alessa's appearance, and she immediately stuffed the matchbox into her pocket.

Was Alessa's death related to fire?

No, it seems Alessa didn't die. Her true form is in the hospital; this is the Dark Form.

Cheng Shuang now suspects that Liu Juan is hiding somewhere in the hospital; otherwise, it's impossible that she hasn't appeared even though two important figures are together. But if that's the case, how could the Dark Force, which controls the entire town, not have discovered her?

So where exactly is Sister Juan hiding?

The little girl felt utterly exhausted. Being a kindergarten principal was no easy task, especially managing unruly children who were incredibly dangerous and prone to threatening violence. She patted one of the baby demon's free little paws and said, "Can't you get down and walk? It'll scare people if I carry you!"

The demonic infant was naturally unwilling. What if this fool got lost? What if she couldn't find herself in this strange world? It shook its head violently, and instantly changed its posture. Not only did it clamp its legs tightly around one of Cheng Shuang's legs, but its free claws also went under Cheng Shuang's armpits and wrapped around her arm.

Fortunately, it didn't choose to hug their necks, otherwise Alessa would have really been following behind them by floating.

The thought of being forced to fly kites made Aresa struggle to control her emotions and prevent herself from inciting the monsters to go on a killing spree.

Inevitably, Alessa chose the same action as the demonic infant, hooking her legs around Cheng Shuang's legs and putting her other hand around Cheng Shuang's shoulder. She turned her head and glared at the demonic infant with a sinister look. It was all because of it; otherwise, she wouldn't have needed to hide.

The little devil, who doesn't understand social etiquette, gave Alessa a sneer as usual.

Although it wasn't heavy, Cheng Shuang suddenly felt like she had dozens of kilograms more to carry: she was exhausted and didn't want to do it anymore!

Ross watched as the three children cuddled together, and thinking of his missing adopted daughter Sharon, he sighed, "You three have such a good relationship!"

Cheng Shuang's lips twitched; she no longer wanted to speak.

However, before she could speak, a rustling sound emerged from a passage, along with the tall, triangular-headed man whom Cheng Shuang had ignored.

Carrying a huge weapon, it staggered along. Whether it was urging the insects or the insects swarming around it, they revealed their true forms from the passage, inseparable from each other, and approached step by step.

Cheng Shuang held her breath, watching the tall, triangular-headed man wield his enormous weapon, remaining vigilant at all times, her hand already drawing a gun from her side.

Her tension caught the attention of the demonic infant, who bared its teeth and, seemingly without effort, emitted a low, threatening hiss at the triangular-headed man.

However, the man with the triangular iron head didn't care about the man and the demon at all.

Logically, Cheng Shuang and the other two should have been closer to it, but it completely ignored them. Even the insects that fell from the man with the triangular iron head, if they happened to land at Cheng Shuang's feet, would quickly scurry away to catch up with the main force that was driving Ross away.

It seems there's someone among Cheng Shuang and the other two that they want to avoid at all costs.

Ross looked at the human-insect duo with horrified eyes, then at Cheng Shuang, who was unharmed and ignored by the insects. His eyes were filled with suspicion and distrust of humanity. He then frantically cried for help and began to look for a way out.

Cheng Shuang turned to look at Alessa, only to see a barely perceptible, sinister smile curling at the corner of the girl's mouth.

She was trying to sow discord and force Ross to break away from them!

But Cheng Shuang didn't want to!

So the little girl, carrying two burdens on her back, shouted and charged into the swarm of insects, stomping on them with a squelching sound of death, and then delivered a powerful kick to the back of the triangular-headed man's knee.

The man with the triangular iron head was so tall that he blocked Cheng Shuang's view, so Ross had no idea what was happening. He only heard the girl give a command, and the man with the triangular iron head suddenly knelt down in front of her.

A deathly silence.

Even the insects dared not make a sound, as if the pause button had been pressed.

Ross looked at the girl, who was trying to brush her off with a sweet smile, with a complicated expression, then turned and rushed quickly toward a slightly ajar door.

Cheng Shuang's smile froze on her face. She never would have imagined that such a tall and big monster would be so unstable, falling to his knees with just one kick. This must be what Uncle Du meant by having weak basic skills!

In the instant Ross successfully escaped, the Ironhead and the insects gradually turned to ash, and the world changed once again.

Alessa, who had originally hoped to use this opportunity to escape, discovered that the transformation of the world had lost its original control over her. Her cold gaze gradually turned into anger towards the demonic infant and Cheng Shuang, and she glared at them hatefully.

However, what she got was Cheng Shuang's back of the head, who was staring longingly at Ross's disappearing figure, and the demon baby's silly, standard grinning face...

Alessa: I'm so angry, but I don't know how to express it!

This time, Cheng Shuang didn't rush to keep up with Ross. Ross no longer trusted her. According to the plot, she should have reunited with the policewoman by now. If she insisted on chasing after them, it might not end well.

So the little girl decided to target Alessa—no, to get information out of her.
