Chapter 47 Shameless

Cheng Shuang glanced at the number of statues, realized something was wrong, stopped her order to have Xiong Baobao help, and turned to leave.

She is blessed with a red ribbon, so unless the specified time is exceeded, the statue will not attack her unless provoked.

Unfortunately, one of the four spotted the giant bear and immediately saw Cheng Shuang being protected by it. His eyes lit up, and he cried out for help before rushing over in a panic.

His shout alerted not only the others to the sudden appearance of the man and bear, but also the statues, who noticed the new intruder.

Suddenly, several more statues began to 'come alive,' and the four people nimbly slipped behind Cheng Shuang, even intending to use the little girl as a shield.

The little bear let out a low growl and placed Cheng Shuang on its neck first.

The four of them immediately huddled together like quails, demonstrating their bullying of the weak and fear of the strong to the fullest extent.

There were as many as eight statues that followed them, which greatly relieved the pressure on the couple. Perhaps to show goodwill, or perhaps out of a sense of kindness, the two reminded each other in unison, "The more people there are, the more the number and speed at which the statues come to life will increase exponentially."

“The statues don’t really die; they’re made of sand and they’ll come back to life.”

Cheng Shuang immediately ordered the bear cubs to launch an attack. It wasn't that she was being a hero, but rather that the four people hiding behind the bear cubs were blocking the castle, and the statues wouldn't give her time to try and touch the castle.

The giant bear's claws and strength were naturally beyond the reach of ordinary people. It roared and smashed the two statues one by one with each claw. But soon, as if to prove the couple's words, the sand piled up layer by layer and was about to return to the shape of the beast.

The little girl took a deep breath and leaned down to look at the four men lurking behind the bear cub. They followed closely, without shifting their position, without exposing themselves at all.

All four were in their twenties or thirties, strong and healthy. Even if they lacked weapons and fighting skills, they must still have some sense, right? They could at least run away, couldn't they? Why hide behind others and add pressure to them?

"Run quickly and spread out. These statues are only for those who stay put."

The young girl suppressed her anger and gently comforted her.

Seeing the giant bear's unstoppable power, the four were even more unwilling to risk leaving alone, shouting confidently, "I will not abandon you! We are all human beings, we should help each other!"

Yes, never abandon or give up!

"That's right! That's exactly it!"

"Come on, we will definitely win!"

Cheng Shuang laughed in exasperation.

How shameless!

The statues are recovering at an increasingly rapid pace, and in the distance, new statues seem poised to come back to life. Even if the bear cubs were to fight them all by force, they couldn't stop their overwhelming numbers. What if there are more and more of them...?

The image of the bear cub being besieged by a dense army of statues sent a chill down the little girl's spine. She steeled herself and shouted at the couple who were fighting with the statues, "The castle must have a teleportation function! Quick, come here, we can escape!"

As soon as the words were spoken, the castle began to flicker, and the person behind the bear cub was immediately gone. Looking around, there was no trace of the four people.

What happened to our promise of mutual help and never abandoning or giving up on each other?

The little girl chuckled twice.

Fortunately, the departure of the four people greatly relieved the pressure on the bear cub, and the slowly awakening statues stopped their resurrection. Only the dozen or so statues in front of them were flattened one by one by the giant bear.

Because Cheng Shuang ordered it to attack at top speed, without reinforcements, the bear cub fully utilized its strength and speed advantage, finishing off the enemy within two minutes.

Cheng Shuang knew she couldn't stay long, so she told Xiong Baobao to run in the opposite direction. Before leaving, she shouted out the rule that there was a two-minute time limit.

Upon hearing this, the couple also gave up the endless fight, conserved their energy, and after smashing a statue together, broke through the encirclement and ran away in perfect unison.

Sure enough, after running a certain distance, the chasing statue stopped and gradually returned to its lifeless appearance.

The two exchanged a glance, but instead of following Cheng Shuang's lead and taking a short break, they chose a different path.

Cheng Shuang and Xiong Baobao tried several more statues of different building types. The teleportation locations were all similar. Later, the little girl got bored and started to play pranks. Every time she teleported to a new location, she would draw a simple sketch on the nearest statue.

She didn't forget to keep track of the time, since skills have time limits, and if it exceeded three hours, she would probably have to spend it running.

Just as the little girl touched the airplane in front of her, which was within the two-minute time limit, the football field statue not far away flashed with golden light, and three teenagers appeared one after another.

Cheng Shuang didn't dare to linger. She waved to the three of them and was then teleported away by the plane.

Fortunately, the three of them caught up with the airplane statue not long after.

The little girl was overjoyed to be reunited with her companion. She slid down from the bear cub's neck and smiled before saying a word.

"Have you seen my painting?"

Kuroko forced her gaze away from the imposing giant bear, scratched her head, and asked, "What did you draw?"

Du Jun's eyes flickered, and he answered for Cheng Shuang, "A cloak."

Hei Zishan's lips twitched. "Kid, study hard and make progress every day. Don't give up on art class, okay?"

Cheng Shuang chuckled; she was quite happy to be reunited with her boyfriends.

Hunter Fu's attention was focused on the giant bear. Seeing that it showed no signs of attacking, he casually asked, "Your skills?"

Cheng Shuang nodded. His question was simple, and her answer was simple too.

The two immediately changed the subject and began discussing with the other two how to solve the 'maze'.
