Chapter 476 is incorrect

The subordinates immediately became excited and started urging each other on. What they ate and drank didn't matter; the most important thing was that their captain's sister thought highly of them and was willing to treat them.

The captain knew his subordinates' character well and knew that the desired effect had been achieved. He then grabbed the girl's wrist and walked towards the door. After taking only two steps, he bumped into A-Fang, who was rushing over.

Seeing the chaotic scene inside the building and the crying girls being herded out one after another, A-Fang's eyes lit up. "Captain, you're amazing! You actually solved it! What about the female corpse?"

The ghost that chased him and Cheng Shuang last night was someone he accidentally brought out of the small building. His master said that if he wanted the ghost to be truly freed, he must find her body and give it a proper burial.

Ah Fang's kindness was partly the reason, but another part was that he was terrified of being harassed by ghosts, so he worked harder than ever before.

Especially after discovering that the ghost's death was related to the thugs in the building, they hoped to resolve this injustice as soon as possible.

"What female or male corpse?!" The captain shoved him on the shoulder. "It's so depressing, go away, don't cause trouble!"

A-Fang then realized that he had misunderstood and quickly told the captain about his encounter with the female ghost's unconscious harassment the night before.

Cheng Shuang could testify to this. Seeing that she had also spoken, the captain immediately sent two people back into the building, where they found countless female corpses. This showed how much unscrupulous money the madam and her thugs had made.

But among these rotting corpses, there was no female ghost from last night.

Fang was so anxious that he scratched his head and finally decided to go back and ask his master for help.

Uncle Jiu's progress was also not going well. He listened to Liao Yuewei's words and came to the exploration site of the well. As soon as he saw the big pit, he immediately realized that something was wrong.

He immediately summoned the two soldiers guarding the pit to inquire about the details. Upon hearing that the pit was dug according to his own markings, he promptly jumped down into the pit to investigate and perform some calculations.

"No!" Uncle Nine said with certainty, "It's not here, someone has disturbed the place where I set up my well."

Ah-hao asked in confusion, "Master, can a well be dug at such a close distance?" At least ordinary people could not see any difference between the two places. The scenery and environment were the same, and the distance was probably only a few meters or a dozen meters.

"Even if you dig it up, you'll have to be alive to drink it!" How could Uncle Nine not foresee that there was a very ominous thing buried here? He immediately ordered the soldiers to fill the soil back up.

The soldiers exchanged glances, somewhat reluctant. Uncle Jiu frowned and ordered Ah Hao, "You do it. You must bury the soil back as soon as possible, otherwise the nearby villages and towns will probably suffer."

Before Ah Hao could react, Liao Yuewei was one step ahead of him. She quickly made a makeshift rake out of a few dry branches and began to fill the soil back in.

The fact that a beautiful, slender woman dressed neatly and cleanly could work without complaining about hardship or fatigue left the guards looking at each other in disbelief. Then they noticed that Uncle Nine and his apprentice had also joined in, the three of them working tirelessly under the sun, and eventually using the tools at their disposal to help fill the pit.

"I wasted the whole afternoon yesterday digging!" someone muttered a complaint. The others chimed in, then, finding it pointless, they obediently buried themselves in their work.

When the soil was halfway filled, a torrential downpour suddenly began. The muddy water washed away the soil, gradually wetting the area and causing signs of soil loss.

Liao Yuewei had already considered this situation. She put down her tools and ran into the woods in the rain. Ahao followed her, only to see Liao Yuewei quickly return, carrying a heavy and large rock.

“Yes, stones!” Uncle Nine was inspired and instructed Ah Hao, “Try to find large and heavy stones, bury them in the pit, and then continue to fill in the soil.”

Ah-hao responded and split up with Liao Yue-wei, leaving Uncle Jiu and several guards to prevent soil erosion.

It's not so easy to find a suitable large rock, and there are no rocky hills or similar terrain structures nearby.

Ah-hao dragged back a few larger stones and buried them there. In contrast, Liao Yue-wei, who had run into the woods before him, remained motionless.

Ah-hao was a little anxious and wanted to rush into the woods to find her, but then he glanced at his master with concern.

Uncle Nine naturally understood his apprentice's little scheme. Just as he was about to nod, he saw a figure walking heavily out of the rain in the woods.

"Yuewei!" Ah Hao shouted excitedly and rushed over, but when he saw the rope she was dragging on her shoulder and the huge rock behind her that was as tall as a person and as wide as ten people, he froze on the spot.

It was only after Liao Yuewei reminded him to help that he finally came to his senses.

"Where did you find this boulder? I don't see it." Without thinking much, Ah Hao hoisted the rope onto his shoulder and pulled the boulder out with all his might.

“There are two inside. I found them by accident.” Liao Yuewei wiped the raindrops from her face, and without blinking at Uncle Jiu’s scrutinizing gaze, she smiled. “This is too much of a coincidence. I really didn’t expect to find such big rocks!” She asked with feigned curiosity, “Uncle Jiu, are there any rocky hills nearby?”

"No." Seeing her happy face, Uncle Jiu didn't continue to doubt. Perhaps even God was helping them!

Heaven couldn't help, but Liao Yuewei could. She stayed up all night last night, driving her amphibious vehicle nearly 600-700 kilometers back and forth, before finally finding suitable boulders at the gravel plant.

After the group pushed both stones down, the rain suddenly stopped, and countless bats appeared out of nowhere, circling above them.

Ah Hao clicked his tongue in amazement and said, "It's really strange to see bats moving in groups during the day!"

"There must be a reason for everything that happens suddenly." Uncle Nine's mood was not good when he thought of the dead bat in the tree branch in the river.

What was truly unpleasant was yet to come. These bats, like moths to a flame, actively attacked them, each one resembling a small cannonball. Their fearless attitude terrified the guards, causing them to run and scream in terror.

The backfilling work was interrupted once again.

Because of the rain, all the matches and tinder they carried were soaked. Using fire to scare away the bats would have been the easiest way, but now that they had nothing to light or start a fire, this method was completely ineffective.

Uncle Nine didn't have many talismans in his arms. After he threw them out, the few dead bats were insignificant in terms of overall number.

It didn't take long for the sky to turn completely dark, dimming the sky over their area.

Several guards had second thoughts and wanted to run away. Bat bites are very dangerous; they not only hurt, but can also cause various diseases, leading to a terrible and pitiful death.

Uncle Nine couldn't force the person to stay. He glanced at Ah Hao, who was struggling to cope, and pursed his lips, caught in a dilemma. But before he could speak, a torch was presented to him.

Uncle Nine looked up and noticed that the guards and Ah Hao were each holding two torches and were vigorously swatting at the bats.

He tilted his head and saw Liao Yuewei giving him a faint smile.

Uncle Nine fell silent.

He reluctantly believed the first explanation that the boulder was a coincidence.

The second instance of finding a dry wooden stick was probably not just a coincidence.

"Do you know what's buried underground?" Uncle Nine asked, getting straight to the point.
