Although he was provoked by Ren Tingting's blunt remarks, Long Wei still stepped forward to help with the Ren family's coffin relocation without hesitation.
This time, it wasn't about Ren Tingting. Long Wei wasn't the kind of man who would forget everything for a love he couldn't have. Without the support of feelings, he was only doing this for two reasons: to maintain this shallow kinship and for his own work.
The Ren family ancestral burial site is located in a uniquely scenic area, lush and green. Mr. Ren, who was talking with Uncle Jiu, glanced at Cheng Shuang and Long Dian. He wanted to beckon them over, but then he changed his mind and put his hand down.
During this time, he had already heard rumors about the Long family's twins: Long Dian was a debt collector and Long Shuang was slow to react.
Master Ren, being slow to react, didn't notice, but the dragon's sinister gaze did indeed possess a menacing aura that could bring misfortune to one's parents.
Ren Tingting was dressed simply, with Qiu Sheng and Wen Cai by her side. The three of them were chatting and laughing, and it was already clear that their relationship was becoming closer later in the film.
Cheng Shuang glanced at them a few more times. They looked younger than those in the new Mr. Vampire movie, but Uncle Nine looked a few years older.
So let's not speculate on the timeline of the three movies; there might not be any timeline issues at all.
Cheng Shuang also tried asking the Dragon Palace if he thought Long Wei's appearance looked familiar.
Dragon Palace shook his head in denial, saying that he could no longer even clearly remember the appearance of the mother he had chosen, Mi Qilian.
Noticing her gaze, Uncle Nine turned his head, exclaimed "Eh?", and strode over, asking in surprise, "Long Shuang?"
Cheng Shuang smiled naturally and sweetly, "Hello, Uncle Jiu!"
“Your sister…your brother…no, you…” Uncle Nine pointed at her, asking while frowning in confusion.
Cheng Shuang pulled Long Dian over and said with a smile, "Uncle Jiu, you're mistaken! This is my twin brother, and the security captain is our eldest brother. There are only three siblings in the Long family."
"Big Brother?!" Uncle Nine glanced at Long Dian without taking it seriously, which showed that unless he had deliberately calculated it, Long Dian's identity was no different from that of a normal person. But when he looked at Long Wei, he suddenly realized and said, "Yes, your big brother!"
Uncle Nine managed to overcome the pressure of the dimensional barrier between the movies and recognize Cheng Shuang, demonstrating extraordinary intelligence and ability. In contrast, Qiu Sheng and Wen Cai ignored Cheng Shuang as if they were meeting for the first time.
The little girl wasn't disappointed. She followed Uncle Jiu's side and was so brave that she didn't even blink as she watched the coffin being lifted and opened. Long Wei, who had been worried that his little sister would be afraid of the corpse, immediately pulled Cheng Shuang, who was leaning close to the coffin and almost pushing Wen Cai away, back to him.
He advised in a soft, gentle voice, "Little sister! Don't get so close!" He originally meant to say something rather disheartening, but considering that Ren Tingting was nearby, he changed his words, "You're young, it wouldn't be good if you offended Old Master Ren!"
In the few days since Ren Tingting met Long Wei, she had only seen him use his position as the security captain to bully others in the town. It wasn't that he hadn't handled any legitimate cases, but he always had a bullying attitude.
Now, seeing him patiently and gently teaching his younger sister, he seemed more genuine than some who were two-faced towards their siblings. Moreover, his true nature, which valued family ties so much, changed Ren Tingting's impression of him.
Ren Tingting's attention was quickly drawn back.
The fact that Old Master Ren's body remained uncorrupted for 20 years coincided with the Ren family's increasingly poor business over the past 20 years.
The auspicious burial plot, which they thought would bring blessings to their descendants, was snatched from a feng shui master but instead turned into a harmful entity.
Mr. Ren had no choice but to sigh. Even when Uncle Jiu suggested cremating the body on the spot to prevent it from turning into a zombie, the filial Mr. Ren refused and his mind was made up.
Uncle Nine had no choice but to send the body and coffin back to the mortuary for further planning.
Cheng Shuang remembered very clearly that on the night that Old Master Ren was about to turn into a zombie, Uncle Jiu mixed chicken blood, glutinous rice, talismans and black ink to make a talisman water that temporarily trapped the zombie. He then used an ink line to mark the entire coffin before the task was completed.
However, Uncle Nine overlooked the bottom of the coffin. The zombie that Old Master Ren had become opened the blockade from the bottom, left the mortuary, went directly to the Ren family, and bit Old Master Ren to death.
Cheng Shuang naturally wanted to remind everyone about the issue at the bottom of the coffin, but considering that the plot could not proceed as scheduled and she would have to stay here for many years, the young girl hesitated a little.
Although Longwei and Longdian were both very good to her, she still had to go back to the convenience store. Compared to the Long brothers, she missed her colleagues at the convenience store more.
Cheng Shuang, who insisted on going to the mortuary with him, witnessed Uncle Jiu performing the spell. The steps were even more complicated than she remembered. Yellow paper, black ink, red pen, kitchen knife, wooden sword, rooster, glutinous rice, and so on. It was not something that could be learned by just glancing at it.
The little girl waited listlessly for Qiusheng and Wencai to dab the ink on the coffin. After playfully bickering with each other, she pointed to the bottom of the coffin and weakly reminded them, "The bottom, the bottom hasn't been dotted yet!"
Wen Cai patted his head knowingly, smiled at the little girl, and he and Qiu Sheng knelt down under the coffin to finish the bottom.
Cheng Shuang paused, then suddenly remembered what she had said. She bit her lip and sighed silently.
She still hasn't been able to open the spatial dimension, and there's been no mission notification. Is she really going to stay in the movie world forever?
But it would be too cruel for Ren Tingting to watch Master Ren be bitten to death by Old Master Ren.
There's no deep-seated hatred, so why stand by and watch someone die needlessly?
Cheng Shuang probably didn't expect that a torrential downpour would happen that night, knocking off the roof tiles of the mortuary and letting the rainwater soak into the coffin, washing away the traces of black ink.
Even though Old Master Ren's body had not escaped the fate of becoming a zombie, a figure hopped straight towards the Ren residence in the rain.
