Chapter 595 The Deflated Ball

"Kojiro!" Akasaka shouted excitedly as he went upstairs.

Cheng Shuang followed behind at a leisurely pace, flipping her hand to tuck a small knife into the back of her school uniform skirt. In the other hand, she held a Carl-Tek P3AT she had collected from 'Resident Evil', the weapon's size just right to be concealed in her sleeve.

There were two half-open doors on the second floor, and a cat's meow came from one of them. If Akasaka could calm down, he would realize that the meow was very soft, like that of a young kitten, completely different from his fat orange cat.

Akasaka pushed open one of the doors. The dimly lit and cramped room contained few items: a single bed, a desk, and a wardrobe.

The three- or four-month-old black cat was sitting in front of the wardrobe, meowing. When it heard Akasaka open the door, it suddenly turned around and pounced.

Akasaka instinctively took a half step back, bumping right into Cheng Shuang who was following behind.

Cheng Shuangxu helped him up, then with a slight shift of her foot, she swiftly stepped on the tail of the black cat that darted out from the side.

The cat let out a miserable cry, turned around and stretched out its sharp claws to try to scratch and bite the person who tried to hurt it. Unfortunately, Cheng Shuang did not give it the chance. A cardboard box fell from the sky and landed on the cat.

Cheng Shuang squatted down, used a thin hardcover magazine to scoop the black cat into the cardboard box from the bottom, quickly sealed it with tape, and poked a few small holes in the top for ventilation.

Akasaka was stunned by his friend's quick reaction, and he said blankly, "This...this isn't Kojiro!"

"It's alright, she can be Kojiro's child bride!"

"Kojiro... Kojiro is a girl!"

"Then I'll be your child husband!" Cheng Shuang shoved the cardboard box into Akasaka's arms without giving him a chance to refuse, then stepped into the house and went to the wardrobe.

Ever since I went up to the second floor, the feeling of being surrounded by malice has been ever-present, like a thick cloud of gloom enveloping me, gradually draining my oxygen, waiting for the desperate struggle of the intruder who walked right into the trap.

Especially the moment she stepped on the cat's tail, her pent-up anger seemed about to explode.

The girl went from being hesitant at the beginning to being irritable and wanting to tear the monster apart. It wasn't just her yandere nature at play; she suspected that the malicious atmosphere was affecting her mental state.

While her mental strength wasn't exceptionally high, it wasn't that weak either.

The only explanation is that the wanderer hiding in the shadows is extremely powerful!

Perhaps realizing it had been caught, the black cat stopped meowing, and the second floor fell silent again. The indoor light visibly dimmed in the quiet atmosphere.

It was as if night had fallen.

Akasaka, holding the cardboard box, looked dejected because he couldn't find his Kojiro, but then he realized something was wrong—there was a cat meowing coming from inside the closet.

He tried to step into the house, but Cheng Shuang stopped him in time.

"Can you see clearly?" Cheng Shuang asked him.

Akasaka realized what was happening and immediately shook his head. "The light should be by the wall!" he muttered, stretching out his arm to feel for the doorway.

He only groped around for a couple of moments before abruptly and quickly pulling his arm back. He grabbed his hand in shock, his body stiffening as he turned his head to the side. "I...I think...I touched a hand, a very cold hand!"

Cheng Shuang bypassed the boy who was frozen in place, turned on her flashlight, shone it into the room, easily found the light switch, pressed it, and the square light on the ceiling made two hissing sounds before turning on.

The room was empty. She wanted to go in first, but Akasaka stopped her.

Akasaka was startled; his hands were icy cold, but his voice remained relatively calm. He gritted his teeth and said, "I'll go first."

Cheng Shuang lowered her eyes and did not refuse. It didn't matter who went first or last. This room was so big that it had become a locked room environment. If there was a problem, it would only be a matter of dying a few seconds first or a few seconds later.

Akasaka carefully stepped inside, his clasped hands soaked with sweat, showing that he was far less calm than he appeared.

It has to be said that it is quite remarkable that a ten-year-old child, who is terrified, could still think of protecting his friend.

But it's a real bear.

Even though they clearly realized something was wrong, they still went in. Of course, even if they wanted to back out now, Cheng Shuang guessed it would be too late.

Even in a panic, when they arrived at the wardrobe, Akasaka handed the cardboard box to Cheng Shuang without hesitation and stood in front of her to open the wardrobe door.

The wardrobe was old and creaking. He shakily grabbed the flashlight and shone it inside, trying to see what was wrong.

It was completely empty inside.

Akasaka felt both annoyed and relieved; he had been genuinely worried that something like a dead body might have appeared in the cabinet.

"Let's go... What... happened?" He turned around, but didn't see his friend. He immediately took a breath, and his pupils dilated.

But as his eyelids drooped slightly, Akasaka realized that his friend was squatting behind him.

He swallowed hard, then asked nervously, "Did you find something?"

"It's nothing, I'm just adjusting my socks!"

Cheng Shuang stood up, holding the cardboard box, a smile in her eyes. "Let's go home! Maybe Kojiro is waiting for you there!"

"Okay!" Having endured too many frights, Akasaka finally gave up searching for Kojiro everywhere. The two turned around and went downstairs. Just as they reached the entrance, they heard a thud as the door closed.

Akasaka rushed over and frantically shook the doorknob. When that failed, his face turned pale, and his voice trembled with a slight sob, "Oh no, the door is locked!"

Akasaka is now increasingly regretting bringing his friends on this adventure.

He looked miserable, and no matter how hard he tried to push, the door remained tightly shut. Not only that, but a strange friction sound gradually began to rise, rustling and rattling, coming from the second floor.
