After hanging up the phone, the three looked at each other. Yumi stopped crying, wiped away her tears, and straightened her back. "I knew my sister wouldn't do this to me!" She took out the videotape and threw it to the ground viciously. "I'm going to destroy it so it doesn't kill other people!"
The videotape landed on the ground, lacking the fragility of plastic. It bounced twice and lay perfectly intact, silently mocking Yumi's naiveté.
"Alright, don't damage Yuko's floor!" Chisato picked up the videotape. "I think we should tie it to a stone and sink it to the bottom of the river!"
Yumi's expression suddenly wavered, "Maybe...maybe we shouldn't!"
"What's wrong?" Cheng Shuang asked. She wanted to take the videotape to check it, but Qianli avoided her, afraid that the videotape itself carried an irresistible curse.
He looked at Yumi, his voice filled with anger, "Are you planning to spread it and transfer the curse to others as well?"
"So what!" Yumi's face was contorted with anxiety. "As long as the next person spreads it, he'll be fine too."
"There are only so many people on Earth. Aren't you afraid that the curse will form a cycle and come back to you?" Qianli sneered.
"Yuko, do you think we should transfer the curse?!" Before the words were even finished, Yumi immediately sought help.
“Qianli is right.” Cheng Shuang put on gloves and insisted on taking the videotape. “I’ll handle this! It’s called transferring the curse, but it’s actually spreading it. If the curse could be easily eliminated, it wouldn’t have become the most terrifying urban legend and circulated for so long!”
Yumi immediately wilted.
The little girl naturally put the videotape into a box, sealed it, and put it into the storage compartment.
The three continued to lay out their bedding while chatting, seemingly unwilling to be forgotten. Suddenly, the television turned on, and a swarm of static broke the stillness of the air.
Then the phone rang.
"It's already 10:30!" Yumi swallowed hard. "I usually go to bed around 10:00."
In other words, the call didn't come from the Fujita family.
Akasaka's father had previously visited the Kawakami family's yard and spoken to Chisato through the door, so it couldn't possibly have been the Akasaka family who called.
"Could it be Uncle Kawakami?" Yumi's teeth chattered.
Qianli shook her head nervously, "Mom received a call from Kawakami's parents today. They are on the other side of the ocean, and their time is out of sync with ours. To avoid disturbing Yuko's rest, they usually talk to Mom during the day to let each other know they are safe."
So... Qianli and Yumi looked at the phone at the same time, only to find that Cheng Shuang had already answered it.
"don't want!"
The piercing static coming from the microphone instantly gave people a dizzying and unpleasant feeling.
Qianli wanted to rush over and hang up the phone, but the noise, like a kitten scratching at glass, stopped him. He covered his head, his face contorted in pain.
Not to mention Yumi, who was huddled behind the sofa with her head in her hands, her face shockingly pale.
Cheng Shuang... She took out a gong from her spatial storage and tapped it twice on the microphone to refresh herself.
The shrill sound paused for a moment.
A moment later, the well reappeared on the television screen, but this time the water slowly overflowed onto the floor, soaking the bedding.
But Chisato and Yumi had no time to pay attention. They stared blankly at the television, trembling. A woman in a white robe crawled out of the well. The woman walked unsteadily to the edge of the television and first stretched out a pale hand.
In that instant, they seemed to smell a faint, pungent odor of well water and the stench of rotting corpses.
Cheng Shuang hung up the phone, turned around, stepped into a puddle, and her gaze sharpened as she looked ahead. The bed she had painstakingly made…
The young girl pursed her lips, gave a cold laugh, and seeing that the woman on TV had already stepped out, she neatly rolled up the bedding and shoved it directly into the TV set.
Sadako, who was about to climb out of the TV but was pushed back in, exclaimed: "What the hell?!"
As a woman with superpowers, even death couldn't stop it from living on in another form. Its will spread electronically to various places, forming what is known as a curse.
It's about transmission, not the reverse—reception!
A television isn't a mailbox, so how can you put things in it? If you were to enter freedom, wouldn't it also be able to pull people in to keep you company?
Sadako angrily kicked the first rolled-up blanket into the well. She intended to throw the second one back the same way, but the blanket roll that had been casually stuffed into the television was no ordinary blanket roll. It would emit crackling electric currents when touched, affecting its magnetic field.
Especially when she was soaking wet...
Why can I touch the first one, but not the second?
Sadako turned back unwillingly, wanting to pull the blanket out of the well, but cruel reality told her that she could not go back down into the well!
Looking at the rolled-up blanket blocking the well opening, and then at the rolled-up blanket blocking the television set, Sadako, the entire ghost, was filled with doubt about her existence as a ghost.
If Cheng Shuang knew its doubts, she would surely kindly answer them for it.
Because the first one was wrapped with a ground-drawing imprisonment talisman and a ghost-suppressing talisman, and the second one was wrapped with a lightning talisman and a demon-suppressing talisman, they were completely surrounded and provided 360-degree close-fitting service.
With Kayako as a prerequisite, the little girl naturally wouldn't be stingy with talismans; she would draw two every day whenever she had a spare moment.
Sadako, as one of the most formidable horror characters, is certainly not so easy to deal with. But the truth is, she is now in a real dilemma, and there's even a little kid outside complaining that they have nowhere to sleep at night!
Who exactly has nowhere to sleep?
That's outrageous!
Sadako hesitated, glancing at the third volume of the blanket, before stomping on it in a fit of rage...
