Cheng Shuang looked at Fu Jiang as if she were looking at some kind of single-celled animal.
Tomie's mind only caught the words "beautiful" and "not beautiful." Compared to Cheng Shuang's verbal taunts, it cared more about the implication in Cheng Shuang's words that there were ghosts as beautiful as it!
Cheng Shuang subconsciously looked up at the top of Tomie's head, who was angrily smashing things.
Tomie kept grumbling and smashing things, but she got more and more bored.
After all, no one cares what it smashes, nor does anyone care if it hurts itself while smashing things.
I feel like I smashed something that was ultimately pointless, and...
It put down the fruit plate, widened its eyes, and demanded menacingly, "What are you looking at? Isn't my face attractive?"
Cheng Shuang shook her head honestly; she was more interested in seeing where the halo was placed!
Before Tomie could erupt in anger, she continued, "Are you that amazing? Only amazing people can attract me!"
Tomie was taken aback. Impressive. With a face like that, does she need to be impressive?
It shoved its face right in front of Cheng Shuang and asked in a fit of rage, "Look at me, am I not pretty?" It wanted to hold the little girl's head in its hands and force her to look directly at its own appearance.
Cheng Shuang tried to take a step back, but a pair of pale, slender arms gripped her shoulders tightly. Tomie roared furiously, "Don't look at my head!"
"Sorry, I'm used to it!" Cheng Shuang touched her nose. She was able to resist most of the ghosts and monsters in this land of death, mostly because of her excellent mental strength.
As Tomie approached, her mind wavered for a moment, but she quickly regained her composure. Therefore, she found it difficult to grasp the feeling of being infatuated with Tomie and naturally followed her heart, looking in the direction that interested her more.
Even without her halo, Tomie's existence is still very important; it would be great if we could pack her up and take her with us.
Although she didn't see the same obsessive greed in her sister's eyes as before, Tomie still shuddered, a chill running from her tailbone to the top of her head, as if she were being stared at by a large wild beast.
Until it discovered that Cheng Shuang had casually tossed a large wooden box into the messy living room of the Akasaka family, and was clasping her little fists, looking at it expectantly, saying, "Second sister, can you come into the box? If you come in, I'll like you!" My ghost doll will like you too!
"No... tell me first, how did the box appear!" Tomie jumped back half a step.
"That's how it appeared!" Cheng Shuang smiled sweetly, her voice seductive. "Second Sister, if you go into the box, I'll give you whatever you want! Gold, silver, or jewelry?"
The little girl opened her hands, revealing sparkling jewelry in her palms, but no matter how shiny the jewelry was, it couldn't compare to the starlight in her eyes.
Tomie looked at her greedily, reaching out as if to hug her, her tone flippant, "I want you! I want you to like me, to love me madly!"
"Then let's get into the box, Second Sister! Okay?" Cheng Shuang tilted her head, and with a sudden push, she pushed Tomie, who was staring blankly at her, into the box.
The wooden box was large enough that even the frail Tomie could easily fit inside. Then, everything went black as the box was closed.
Tomie thought it was just a child's game. It shouted and cursed in dissatisfaction, trying to push the lid open, but as soon as its hand touched the lid, a sharp pain came.
After that, it fell into a daze and became completely trapped inside the box...
After storing the wooden crate in her spatial storage, Cheng Shuang clapped her hands and called Akasaka's father. Since Akasaka's father was driving, Chisato answered the phone. Upon learning that the crisis was over, Chisato breathed a sigh of relief and coldly did not ask about Tomie's whereabouts, only saying that they would buy dinner and return as soon as possible.
It is clear that the Akasaka couple have returned to normal.
In this era, mobile phones were not common; landlines were the most prevalent. Not long after, the Akasaka family's phone rang.
Cheng Shuang answered the phone for him. A deep, pleasant male voice came from the other end, "Hello, is this the Akasaka family?"
"Hello, may I ask who this is?"
"Again?"
Cheng Shuang was taken aback, then asked in confusion, "Uncle Hai?"
Si Hai chuckled softly, "I was so confused, I actually forgot about how modern people communicate!"
Cheng Shuang...she's forgotten about it too!
"At least R country has a phone book. As for China, I'll just have to wait until your sister Juan contacts me next time and ask her for her number."
No one cared about the cost of international calls; the jewels and gold and silver in the palace were enough for them to have endless phone conversations every day.
"This is the Akasaka family residence, so it's not convenient to talk here. Uncle Hai, call the Kawakami family in five minutes."
After a brief exchange, Cheng Shuang hung up the phone and went straight back to the Kawakami residence. Almost as soon as she entered, the phone rang.
Sihai's purpose in making the call was not for casual conversation, but because he had made an important discovery.
This land of death is not only maintained by their group; the stationmaster's challenge schedule has competitors.
Furthermore, some of those competitors have already set their sights on other website owners.
Sihai decided to arrive at Cheng Shuang's side ahead of time. Ghosts and monsters are scary, but he had to be even more wary of humans who were protectors.
The defenders are sometimes just as deadly as the homeless, and there are countless instances of them killing without shedding blood.
Cheng Shuang's age inevitably made her less experienced in plotting and scheming.
"I might be being watched!" Sihai sighed. "Fortunately, they suspect I'm the site administrator, so even if I come to R country, I won't show myself to avoid being noticed by the maintainers there. Also, buy a mobile phone as soon as possible, don't use a landline."
Sihai was clearly using himself as bait; he was in the open, while the little girl was in the shadows.
"Uncle Hai, be careful, it's relatively safe here!" Cheng Shuang warned worriedly. "Anyway, ghosts are easy to deal with, just trap them and put them in the spatial storage!"
